1 Technical Specications
Zephyrus is a compact product desi-
gned around a 5 inch coaxial high per-
formance speaker. It has a mid woofer
of 5 inches with a horn loaded and coa-
xial driver capable of high resolution at
high frequency. The body is realized in
composite material, light yet resistant,
capable of withstanding shock and at-
mospheric agents. This is the perfect
product to create sound quality loyal
systems that respects vocal quality. It is
also ideal to create satellite + subwoofer
systems that maintain high quality with
low encumbrance. It excels in its goal of
sonorizing small rooms or areas in clubs.
Multiple Zephyrus speakers allow for an
equal diusion of extreme high quality
sound in an open area. Another use is
the connection to a studio system or
a PC workstation where sound quality
and sound detail has to be immediately
recognizable. Pairing the Zephyrus with
the Borea sub (ovoid system) allows to
create a full range system, compact and
dynamic, and is therefore suggested.
The passive crossover, realized without
compromise, selecting the most high
quality components, allows control of
the Zephyrus with a single amplication
channel.

2: Unboxing
The Zephyrus system, like every other Pequod
product, is built with high standards of control
and quality. At the end of the production pro-
cess and before packaging, each system is te-
sted: acoustically measured and recorded in our
company database. For each Zephyrus serial
number, we have the related test les recorded
in the archive. Before being packed in its box we
complete an inspection of surfaces and structu-
res. Units are packed into wooden crates or he-
avy cardboard boxes with internal foam padding
before shipping.
Extraction from box:
The Zephyrus weighs 3,5 Kg (7,7 lb) each, and is
taken from the box simply following the steps
shown here. Keep the packaging for further sto-
rage or transportation, unless units are to be
permanently installed.

3 Wiring and Settings
Zephyrus has an input made with a high quality 2p OFC cable (with standard NL4FC male connec-
tor).
The 2p cable can be terminated with an NL2, NL4 or custom connector, or connection with another
cable, using terminal block / welding and heat shrink insulation (see Fig).
In case of custom realization by the installer of the connection cables, we recommend specifying
installation-grade Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) cables for permanent installations. The cables
should use Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) of grade C11000 or above. For distances of over 15 meters
between Zephyrus and ampli we recommend increasing the section of the cable poles to 4 sq.mm,
to avoid excessive emission level losses. For lengths of less than 15 m, you can use 2-pole cables,
each with a section of 2.5 sq.mm.

Amplier + DSP
Amplier + DSP
DSP general settings:
1) Stand alone: Just if very high output is needed
we recommend to use a DSP: High-pass lter @
70Hz, 12 dB / oct. or higher slope
2) Zephyrus as Satellite with subwoofer: Amplier +
DSP to match to subwoofer.
Zephyrus: High-pass lter @ 90Hz, 12 dB / oct. or
higher slope. Sub: (Band pass)
High-pass lter @ 20Hz, 12 dB / oct. or higher slope
Low pass lter @ 90Hz, 12 dB / oct. or higher slope

4 Installation and system design
For private or enclosed areas as rst choice Fig 1, or multipoint source Fig 2 e Fig 2A. Or as a Satel-
lite with subwoofer for small areas (home theater Fig 3) or for a small audience of a live event. Also
used as a ller for medium-high frequencies in areas that require such sound reinforcement, Fig 4.
Finally, as a valuable satellite for a console or a PC workstation, Fig 5.
In any case, optimal acoustic coverage is obtained by orienting the central axis coming out of the
5 “coax towards the heads of the listeners, lifting the speakers from the ground.
