"Updated Database" will compare the existing songs in HD with the Mu-
sic Library (database) and only the difference between the two will be
processed. On the other hand, “Rebuild Database”will generate a new
Music Library according to songin HD and replace the old one directly.
In general,“Update Database”offers you a faster way to updatethe Music
Library.
In casethere is significant differencein HD content afterconnectingUSB,
“Rebuild Database”is a more efficient mean to reflect yourchanges in the
MusicLibrary.
An extreme example is that you erase all the songs in HD and loaded a
completely newset of songs, thenupdatingthe database by“Rebuild Da-
tabase”option will be faster than “Update Database”.
