USINGTHESIDEBURNER
Inspect the gassupplyhosepriortoturningon the gas.If thereisevidenceofcuts, wearor
abrasion, it must bereplacedpriortouse. Donotusethesideburnerif gasodorispresent.
Keep aspraybottleofsoapywaternearthegrillandcheckthegasconnectionsbeforeeach
use.
CAUTION
1.The grill head isheavyandwillrequiretwoormorepeopletolift andposition ontogrill cart.
2.Beforecleaning,makesurethe gassupplyandcontrolknobsareinthe “OFF”positionandtheburners
have cooled.
3.When using amatchtolightthegrill makesuretousetheattachedlightingrod.
4.When using the rotisserieburner, removethewarmingrack. High heat fromtherotisserieburnermay
causethewarmingracktobend.
5.Donotalterthe grillinanymanner.
6.Clean andinspecthosesbeforeeachuse.If thereisevidenceofabrasion,wear,cutsorleaks,the hose
must bereplacedpriortooperation.Thereplacementhoseshouldbeinaccordancewiththe
manufacturer’sspecifications.
BEFORE LIGHTING
Inspect the gassupplyhosespriortoturning onthegasbeforeeachuse. Ifthereisevidenceofcuts,wear,
orabrasion,itmustbe replaced priortouse.
Onlythe pressureregulatorandhoseassemblysupplied withtheunitshouldbeused.Neversubstitute
regulatorsforthosesupplied withthegrill.Contactcustomerserviceforproperreplacement.
Installtheregulator(typeQCC1)ontothecylinder. Leakcheck thepipingandregulatorconnectionswitha
soapand watersolutionbeforeoperatingthegrill (See “LeakTesting”instructionsonpage18).
Donotturn “ON”thegasattheLPgascylinderunless the Quick-Connectgashoseisproperlyconnected
tothe sideburnergaspipe systemandallburnervalvesareinthe “OFF”position.

Whenusingthisappliancebasicsafetypracticesmustbe followed, includingthefollowing:
•Donotrepairorreplaceanypart ofthegrill unlessspecificallyrecommended inthismanual. All
otherserviceshouldbereferredtoaqualified technician.
•Thegrillisforoutdooruseonly.
•The grillisnot intendedtobe installedinoronrecreationalvehiclesand/orboats.
•Childrenshouldnotbeleft alone orunattendedinanareawherethegrillisbeing used.Donot
allowchildrentosit,stand orplayonoraroundthegrillat anytime.
•Donot storeitemsofinteresttochildren around orbelowthe grillorcart.Donotallowchildren to
crawlinsidethecart.

potholdersonhotsurfacesmaycausesteamburns.Donotuseatowelorbulkyclothinplaceof
potholders. Donot allowpotholderstotouchhot portionsofthegrillrack.
•Greaseisflammable.Lethotgreasecoolbeforeattempting tohandleit. Donotallowgrease
depositstocollectinthe greasetrayatthebottomofthegrill’sfirebox.Cleanthe greasetrayoften.
•Donot usealuminumfoiltolinethegrill racks orgrill bottom.Thiscanseverelyupset combustion
airflowortrap excessiveheat inthecontrolarea.
•Forproperlighting and performanceoftheburners,keepthe burnerportsclean.Itis necessaryto
cleanthemperiodicallyforoptimumperformance. Theburnerswill onlyoperateinonepositionand
mustbe mountedcorrectlyforsafeoperation. (See “Careand Maintenance”instructionsonpage
25.)
•Cleanthegrillwithcaution.Toavoidsteamburns,donotuseawet spongeorclothtocleanthe
grill whileit ishot. Somecleanersproducenoxiousfumesorcan igniteif applied toahotsurface.

•Neveruseadented orrustypropanecylinder.
•Turnoffallcontrolknobsandmakecertainthegrilliscoolbeforeusing anytype ofaerosolcleaner
on oraround it. The chemicalthatproducesthe sprayingaction could,inthepresenceofheat,
igniteorcausemetalpartstocorrode.
•Donot usethegrill tocookexcessively fattymeatsorotherproductsthat promoteflare-ups.
•Donot operatethe grillunderunprotectedcombustibleconstructions. Useonlyinwell ventilated
areas. Donotuseinbuildings, garages,sheds, breezewaysorothersuchenclosedareas.
•Keep the areassurrounding the grillfreefromcombustiblematerialsincluding, fluids, trash,and
vaporssuchasgasoline orcharcoallighterfluid.Donotobstructtheflowofcombustionand
ventilationair.If theunitisstoredindoors, makesureitiscool.
•Donot usebriquettesof anykindinthe grill. The720-0335liquidpropanegasgrillisdesigned for
optimumperformancewithouttheuseofbriquettes.Donot placebriquettesontheflametamers,
asthiswillblock the venttothegrillburners.Adding briquettescan damageignitioncomponents
thusvoidingthewarranty.
•Keep the back ofthe cartfreeand clearfromdebris.
•Keepelectricalsupplycordsandtherotisseriemotorcordawayfromheatedareasof thegrill.
•Neverusethegrillinextremely windyconditions.If locatedinaconsistentlywindyarea(oceanfront,
mountaintop,etc.), awindbreakwillberequired.Alwaysadheretotheclearancespecifications.
•Neverattempttousedamagedorobstructedequipment.See yourlocalliquidpropanedealerfor
repair.
•Cylindermustbe storedoutdoorsoutof the reachofchildrenand mustnotbestoredinabuilding,
garage oranyotherenclosedarea.

LIQUID PROPANECYLINDER REQUIREMENTS

Adented orrustyliquidpropane gascylindermaybe hazardousand shouldbe checkedbyyoursupplier.
Neveruseacylinderwithadamaged valve. Theliquidpropane cylindermustbe constructed andmarked
inaccordancewiththespecificationsforliquidpropane cylindersbytheUnitedStatesDepartmentof
Transportation (DOT) orthe NationalStandardofCanada,CAN/CSA-B339,Cylinders, SpheresandTubes
forTransportationofDangerousGoodsCommission.
The20 lb.cylindermusthaveashut off valveterminating inavalveoutletspecified, asapplicable, for
connectiontypeQCC1inthestandardforcompressed gascylindervalveoutletand inletconnection
ANSI/CGA-V-1.
Storageofanoutdoorcooking gasapplianceindoorispermissibleonlyif thecylinderisdisconnected and
removed fromthe outdoorcooking gasappliance.
Manifoldpressure: (operating)10incheswatercolumn(W.C.),(non-operating)11.2incheswatercolumn

Theliquidpropane cylindermustbe fittedwithan OverfillProtectionDevice(OPD).

CONNECTION
Yourgrillisequippedwithgassupplyorificesforuseonly withliquidpropane gas.It isalsoequippedwith
ahighcapacityhose/regulatorassemblyforconnectiontoastandard20lb. liquidpropanecylinder(18-1/4
incheshigh,12-1/4inchesdiameter).
Toconnect the liquidpropanegassupplycylinder:
1.Thecylindervalveshouldbe inthe “OFF”position.If not,turnthevalve clockwiseuntilitstops.
2.Makesurethecylindervalvehasthepropertype1externalmalethreadconnectionsperANSI Z21.81.
3.Makesuretheburnervalvesareinthe “OFF”position.
4.Inspect the valve connections,portand regulatorassembly.Lookforanydamageordebris.Remove
debrisand inspect thehosefordamage.
5.Whenconnectingtheregulatorassemblytothevalve, useyourhand totighten the nutclockwiseuntilit
stops.Useofawrenchcoulddamagethequick couplingnutand result inahazardoussituation
6.Openthecylindervalve fullybyturningthevalvecounterclockwise.

7.Beforelightingthe grill,useasoapandwatersolution tocheck allthe connectionsforleaks.
8.Ifaleakisfound,turnthecylindervalveoff anddonotusethegrill until alocalliquidpropanedealer
canmakerepairs.
WARNING
Neverattempttousedamagedorobstructedequipment.See yourlocalliquidpropanedealerforrepair.
DISCONNECTION
1.Turnofftheburnervalvesandmakesurethegrilliscool.
2.Turnoffthetankvalvebyturningthecontrolknob clockwiseuntilittightens.
3.Detachtheregulatorassemblyfromthe tankvalvebyturning the quick couplingnutcounterclockwise.
4.Placethedust cap on the cylindervalveoutlet wheneverthecylinderis not inuse.Only installthe type
ofdustcap on the cylindervalve outletthatisprovidedwiththe cylindervalve.Othertypesofcapsor
plugsmayresult inleakageofpropane.
LEAK TESTING
GENERAL
Althoughgasconnectionsonthegrill areleaktestedpriortoshipment,acompletegastightness check
mustbe performed attheinstallationsite. Beforeeachusecheckthe wholesystemforleaks following the
procedureslistedbelow.
Ifthe smellofgasisdetectedatanytime,youshouldimmediately checktheentiresystemforleaks.
BEFORETESTING
Makesureall packingmaterialshavebeenremovedfromthe grill,includingtheburnertie-downstraps.
WARNING
Checkall gassupplyfittingsforleaksbeforeeachuse. Donotusethegrill until allconnectionshavebeen
checkedand donotleak.Donotsmokewhileleaktesting.Neverleaktestwithan openflame.
Makeasolutionofone partliquiddetergent and onepartwater. Youwill needaspraybottle,brush,orrag
toapply thesolutiontothefittings. Forthe initialleaktest,makesuretheliquidpropanecylinderis full.
TOTEST
1.Makesurethecontrolvalvesareinthe “OFF”position,and turnonthegassupply.
2.Applythesoap solutiontoall pipe fittings,fromthenaturalgasregulatorandsupply valveuptoand
includingtheconnectionstothe burners.Soapbubbleswillappearwherealeakispresent.
3.Ifaleakispresent, immediatelyturnoff thegassupplyandtightenleakyfittings.
4.Turnthegasback onandrecheck.
5.Shouldthe gascontinue toleakfromanyof thefittings,turnoff the gassupplyand contactcustomer
serviceat1-877-323-5263.
6.Ifit isevident thereisexcessiveabrasionorwear, orthehoseiscut,itmustbe replacepriortothe
outdoorcookinggasappliancebeingputintooperation.
Onlythosepartsrecommendedbythemanufacturershouldbeusedonthegrill. Substitutionswillvoidthe
warranty.

GASFLOWCHECK
Eachgrill burneristestedand adjustedat the factorypriortoshipment. However,variationsinthelocal
gassupplymaymakeitnecessarytoadjust the burners.
Flamesshouldbeblue andstablewithnoyellowtips, excessivenoiseorlifting (see “Flame
Characteristics”illustration on page26).
Ifanyof theseconditionsexist, first check toseeiftheburnerisblockedbydirt, debris,spiderwebs, etc.If
theburnersareclearofforeignobjectsordebris,pleasecontactcustomerserviceat1-877-323-5263for
furtherassistance.
It ishandytokeep aspraybottleofsoapywaternearthe shut-offvalve ofthegassupplyline. Sprayallthe
fittings.Bubblesindicateleaks.
Disconnectedliquidpropane cylindersmusthavethreaded valve plugstightlyinstalled,andmustnotbe
stored inabuilding,garageoranyotherenclosed area.
Thegasmustbeturnedoffatthesupplycylinderwhen the unit isnot inuse.
Ifthe applianceisstored indoors,thecylindermust bedisconnectedandremovedfromtheappliance.
Cylindersmust bestoredoutdoorsinawell-ventilated areaout ofthereachofchildren.
INSTALLER FINALCHECK
•Maintainspecifiedclearanceof24 inchesfromcombustiblematerials/construction. Outdoor
cookingapplianceshall notbe used underoverheadcombustibleconstruction.
•Allinternalpackaginghasbeenremoved.
•Thehoseandregulatorareproperlyconnected.
•Theunithasbeentestedandisfree ofleaks.
•Thegassupplyshutoffvalvehasbeen located.

GeneralUseoftheGrill and Rotisserie
Eachmainburnerisrated at 14,000 BTU/Hr.Themaingrillburnersencompasstheentirecooking area
andareside portedtominimizeblockagefromfalling greaseand debris.Abovetheburnersarestainless
steelflametamers.Theigniterknobsarelocated onthelowercenterportionofthevalve panel.Each
rotaryigniterislabeled on the controlpanel
Using theGrill
Grilling requireshigh heatforsearingandproperbrowning. Mostfoodsarecooked ata “HI”heat settingfor
theirentirecookingtime. However,whengrillinglarge piecesofmeatorpoultry,itmaybenecessaryto
turntheheat toalowersetting aftertheinitialbrowning. Thismethod cooksthe foodthoroughly without
burningtheoutside.
Foodcooked foralongtimeorbastedwithasugar-basedmarinademayneed alowerheat settingnear
theendofitscookingtime.
Tobegin:
1.Makesurethegrillhasbeen leaktested andisproperlyplaced.
2.Remove anyremainingpacking materials.
3.Light thegrillburnersusingtheinstructionson page21.
4.Turnthecontrolknob(s)tothe “HI”setting,andpreheat thegrillfor15minutes. Thegrill lidshouldbe
closedduringthepre-heat period.
5.Placethefoodonthegrilland cooktothe desired degreeofpreparation.If necessary,adjusttheheat
setting. Thecontrolknob maybepositioned atanysettingbetween “HI”and “LO”.
Using theRotisserieBurner
Yourgrilliscapableof performingbackburnerrotisseriecooking.Lighttherearburnerasdescribed inthe
lightinginstructionsonpage 22.Oncelit, therotisserieburnerwillreachcookingtemperatureinabout 1
minute.
Therotisseriemotoris capableof turning up toa12 lb.cutofmeatorpoultry. Themotorslidesontothe
stainless steelmotormount.
Therotisseriemotormust beelectricallygroundedinaccordancewithlocalcodesor, intheabsenceof
localcodes,withtheNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA70.
Afteritsfirst use, thestainless steeladjacenttothe rotisserieburnerwill mostlikelyturndarkblue. Thisis
anormalpropertyof thenon-rusting typestainlesssteelused onthegrill.
Therotisseriemotoris equippedwithaplug andshouldbeplugged directlyintoaproperlygrounded
receptacle. Donotcutorremovethegroundingprong fromthisplug.Keepanyelectricalsupply cordand
thefuelsupplyhoseawayfromanyheated surfaces.When not inuseremoveand storethe motorinadry
location.
TheRotisserieSkewer
Theskewerforthe rotisserieshouldbeassembledintothemotorbyplacingthepointed endintothemotor,
andthen slidingthegrooved bushingintothe slot at theoppositesideofthegrill. Thethumbscrewforthe
groovedbushing shouldbeinside the grillbody.
Loading theRotisserieSkewer
1.Screwthe bushing ontotheskewerrod atthe oppositeend fromthepoint.
2.Slide andtighten thecounterbalanceapparatusontotheskewerrodapproximately 2to4inchesfrom
thebushing.
