1. Gegenstand
Diese Anleitung beschreibt RS232 Box für Faserschaltervon piezosystem jena.
2. Zertifizierung von piezosystem jena
Die Firma piezosystem jena GmbH ist seit 1999 nach DIN EN ISO 9001 zertifiziert
und arbeitet nach einem anerkannten Qualitätsmanagementsystem.

3. Konformitätserklärung
EU-Konformitätserklärung
Für das folgend bezeichnete Erzeugnis
RS232 Box
wird hiermit bestätigt, dass es den wesentlichen Schutzanforderungen
entspricht, die in der Richtlinie des Rates zur Angleichung der
Rechtsvorschriften der Mitgliedstaaten über die elektromagnetische
Verträglichkeit (89/336/EWG) und der Niederspannungsrichtline
(73/23/EWG) festgelegt sind.
Diese Erklärung gilt für alle Exemplare, die nach den anhängenden
Fertigungszeichnungen - die Bestandteil dieser Erklärung sind - hergestellt
werden.
Zur Beurteilung des Erzeugnisses hinsichtlich elektromagnetischer
Verträglichkeit wurden folgende Normen herangezogen:
Funkentstörung nach EN 55011 (DIN VDE 0875 Teil 11) Gruppe 1, Klasse B
Störfestigkeit nach EN 61000-6-2

4. Sicherheitshinweise
Öffnen Sie das Gerät in keinem Fall! Im Inneren des Gerätes befinden sich keine
Teile, die vom Benutzer selbst gewartet werden können. Reparaturarbeiten dürfen
nur von qualifiziertem technischen Personal von piezosystem jena durchgeführt
werden. Jegliche Eingriffe Dritter führen zum Garantieverlust.
Vermeiden Sie unbedingt das Eindringen von Flüssigkeiten in die Geräte! Diese
können zu einem elektrischen Schlag, Brand oder Fehlfunktionen des Gerätes
führen.
Betreiben Sie die Geräte nur in sauberer und trockener Umgebung.
piezosystem jena übernimmt keine Garantie bei Fehlfunktionen durch fremdes
Zubehör.
Bitte trennen Sie den RS232 Box sofort von der Versorgungsspannung,
wenn:
oirgendwelche Kabel beschädigt sind
owenn der RS232 Box mit Feuchtigkeit in Berührung gekommen ist
owenn der RS 232 Box äußerlich beschädigt ist
5. Kurzanleitung
Bitte überprüfen Sie die Lieferung auf Vollständigkeit (siehe Packliste) und auf
Unversehrtheit aller angegebenen Lieferpositionen.
Bitte informieren Sie piezosystem jena sofort bei Beschädigungen des Systems.
Bitte lassen Sie sich Transportschäden vom Lieferanten (Paketdienst o.ä. )
bestätigen.
6. Grundlagen
Der Adapter wandelt Kommandos über die RS232 Schnittstelle in eine Binärsignal um,
welches geeignet ist einen Multimodefaserschalter (FSM13...19) zu steuern.
Die Parameter für die RS232-Schnittstelle sind:
115200 baud
keine Handshake
keine Parität
8 Datenbits
1 Stoppbit
Diese Parameter sind im RS232-Adapter fest programmiert und können nur durch ein
Firmwareupdate bei peizosystem jena geändert werden.
Zur Steuerung wird ein handelsübliches 1:1 RS232-Kabel (Stecker/Buchse) verwendet.

7. Stromversorgung
Die Stromversorgung des RS232-Adapters und des Faserschalters erfolgt über das
mitgelieferte Stecknetzteil.
Der innere Pol ist “+“, außen ist Masse “-“, diese ist auch mit dem Gehäuse verbunden.
Die Versorgungsspannung muß im Bereich von 6,5...12V liegen, die Stromaufnahme
liegt typisch bei ca. 80-150mA, je nach Schaltfrequenz.
8. Steuerung
Nach dem Einschalten wird einmalig eine „Begrüßungsmeldung“ ausgegeben:
„piezosystem jena FSM19 V1“ gefolgt von <LF><CR>
Die Steuerkommandos:
<CR> startet Kommandoerkennung, löscht den Eingangspuffer
ch,1<CR> gibt binär 0 aus
ch,2<CR> gibt binär 1 aus
ch,3<CR> gibt binär 2 aus
u.s.w.
ch,9<CR> gibt binär 8 aus
Alles andere wird als Fehler erkannt und ignoriert!
Eine Korrektur von Fehleingaben mit „Back Space“ (0x09) ist nicht möglich.
In diesem Fall einfach das Kommando ungültig machen und mit <CR> die Eingaben zu
beenden.
Danach kann Kommando übertragen werden.
Wird ein „falsches“ Kommando erkannt so sendet drs Adapter „error“ gefolgt von
<LF><CR> zurück.
Hex: 65 72 72 6F 72 OA OD.
Bei einem korrekten Kommando (zB: ch,3<CR>) wird das Kommando selbst
zurückgesendet, zB: „ch,3“ gefolgt von<LF><CR>. Hex: 63 68 2C 33 OA OD.

4. safety instruction
Do not open the units! The warranty will be lost when the unit is opened!
There are no user serviceable parts inside and opening or removing covers
may expose you to dangerous shock hazards or other risks. Refer all
servicing to qualified service personnel.
Do not spill any liquids into the connectors or use the units near water.
Work with the units only in a clean and dry environment! Please use only
original parts from piezosystem jena.
piezosystem jena does not give any warranty for damages or malfunction
caused by additional parts not supplied by piezosystem jena. Additional
cables or connectors will change the specified data.
Please contact piezosystem jena or your local representative, if there are
any problems with your RS232 Boxh.
Immediately unplug your unit from the power supply and refer servicing to qualified
service personnel under the following conditions:
when the power supply cord, connector is damaged.
iI the unit has been exposed to rain or water.
if the unit has been dropped or the housing is damaged.
5. instructions for checking
When you open the package, please check to make sure all the necessary parts are
complete (see packing list) and nothing is damaged.
If there is any damage to the system please contact our local representative
immediately!
If the packaging material is damaged please confirm this with the shipping
company.

6. basics
The adapter converts commands comming via RS232 into binary signals to control the
piezosystem jena fiberswitches for the RS232 as following:
115200 baud
no handshake
no parity
8 databits
1 stop bit
Those parameters are hardwired in the cotroller and can be changed at piezosystem
jena only.
Please use a normal serial cable (1:1, plug/cocket) to connect your computer to the
RS232 box.
7. power suply
Use the provided power supply to connect your supply to your RS232 box and the
fiberswitch. The inner contact of the plug is connected to plus, the outer one to minus
and the casing.
The supply voltage can range from 6,5V to 12V DC, the current is depending on the
switching operation, 80-150mA.
8. interface control
After power up the RS232 sends a welcome string to the pc:
„piezosystem jena FSM19 V1“ followed by <LF><CR>
control commands:
ch,1<CR> binary output 0
ch,2<CR> binary output 1
ch,3<CR> binary output 2
an so on
ch,9<CR> binary output 8
All other inputs are recognized as errors and will be ignored.
An inputs correction using „backspace“(0x09) is not possible.
In this case send<CR> to invalidate the command and send it again.
If a command is not recognized, the adapter sends „error“ followed by <LF><CR>
(Hex: 65 72 72 6F 72 OA OD).

If the command is recognized, the adapter echoes the command followed
by<LF><CR>.
For example, the command „ch,3<CR> will be answered with „ch,3<LF><CR<
(Hex: 63 68 2C 33 OA OD).
