WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or
moisture. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that objects filled with
liquids, such as vases, shall not be placed on apparatus.
WARNING: The direct plug-in adapter is used as disconnect device, the disconnect device shall
remain readily operable.
• This lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert
the user to the presence of non-insulated “dangerous voltage” within the product's enclosure that
may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock.

user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.

Operation remarks
Selecting / confirming Meny options can be done in two ways:
1. press 9 oder : to select a function > press VOLUME to confirm
2. turn VOLUME to select a function > press VOLUME to confirm
In this manual, we describe the operation using the first method.

Controls, connectors and display
Main controls
1 PRESET - Long press button 1, 2 or 3+ to preset and save your favorite
stations. You can save up to 20 DAB presets and 20 FM presets.
2 INFO - View more information about the station playing. Press again to cycle
through further information.
3 SOURCE - Press repeatedly to cycle through the sources: DAB, FM,
Bluetooth.

- Previous: Press to select the previous station or option.
5 MENU - Press to show the menu for the current mode. Press again to show
now playing screen.
6 u; - Press to select Play/Pause under Bluetooth mode.
7 BACK - Press to return to the previous screen.

Getting started
Supersound 001 is easy to use. To play DAB or FM radio, all you need is a
power source (batteries or USB power).
Quick setup
Fully extend the Telescopic antenna to ensure good reception in both DAB and
FM Radio modes. It may be necessary to alter the position of the DAB Digital
Radio and/or the Telescopic antenna to achieve the best signal.
1. Insert four “AA” batteries (not included) into the battery compartment or
connect the USB cable to the input in the side of the Supersound 001 and
then plug the cable into the USB powers adapter.
2. Fully extend the rear telescoping antenna.
3. Press the VOLUME button to turn the Supersound 001 on.
4. Press the SOURCE button to select the desired source.
Turn ON / OFF or set to Standby
Power on: short press VOLUME
Power off/standby: long press VOLUME
Note: Unplug the USB power to turn off your Supersound 001 completely.
SOURCE: Press repeatedly to cycle through the sources: DAB, FM, Bluetooth.
Preset stations
There are 20 DAB presets and 20 FM presets.
To store a station, selected your desired radio station, then press and hold the
preset button (1, 2 oder 3+) for a seconds until the LCD display shows “Preset #
saved”.
In case of “3+” either press 9 or : button to select your desired station preset
number, press VOLUME to confirm your selection.
Recall stations
To recall a preset station, press button 1 or 2 once, or in case of 3+ either press
9 or : to select the preset number. Then press VOLUME to confirm.
Note: If you choose a preset that hasn’t been allocated a station, then “Preset
Empty” will be displayed.

DAB radio mode
DAB radio mode receives DAB/DAB+ digital radio and displays information about
the station, stream and track playing.
The menu options are: Station List, Full Scan, Manual Tune, Prune Invalid, DRC,
System Settings.
Selecting stations
To listen to or change a station, press 9 or : > VOLUME to select. Once
selected, the station plays and the screen shows information about the station.
Full Scan
MENU > Full Scan > VOLUME to confirm. Full scan starts automatically. Once a
scan is completed, the radio returns to play the previously selected station or first
station on the station list.
Note: If no radio station found, it shows “No DAB station” or “Service not
available”. For a better reception, extend the antenna or do the full scan again in
another place.
Manual Tune
This can help you when adjusting your antenna or when adding stations that
were missed while auto tuning.
MENU > : > Manual Tune > Volume to confirm > 9 or : to select a particular
channel/frequency > VOLUME to confirm. The display shows a live indication of
the received signal strength on the selected frequency.
Prune Invalid
You may remove all unavailable stations from the station list.
MENU > : > Prune Invalid > VOLUME to confirm > : to select “Yes” or “No” >
VOLUME to confirm.
DRC (Dynamic range compression)
DRC reduces the difference between the loudest and quietest audio being
broadcast. Effectively, this makes quiet sounds comparatively louder and loud
sounds comparatively quieter.
Options: High / Low / Off
MENU > : > DRC > VOLUME to confirm > : to select option > VOLUME to
confirm.
Note: DRC only works if it is enabled by the broadcaster for a specific station.

FM radio mode
FM radio mode receives analogue radio from the FM band and displays RDS
(Radio Data System) information about the station.
The menu options are: Scan Setting, Audio Setting and System Settings.
Selecting stations
To find a station, press and hold 9 or :. The frequency display starts to run as
Supersound 001 scans the FM band.
Scan Setting
This enables you set FM scans to stop at stations with strong signal or stop at
any available station.
Options: Strong stations only / All stations
MENU > Scan Setting > VOLUME to confirm > : to select “Strong Stations
Only” or “All Stations” > VOLUME to confirm.
Audio settings
By default, all stereo stations are reproduced in stereo. For weak stations, this
may result in poor quality audio. The audio quality can be improved using mono.
Options: Stereo Allowed / Forced Mono
MENU > Audio setting > VOLUME to confirm > : to select “Forced Mono” or
“Stereo Allowed” > VOLUME to confirm.

Bluetooth mode
Prior to pairing, verify your device supports Bluetooth 4.2 and your device is not
connected to any other Bluetooth product. Devices may pair differently. Below is
a general guide.
1. Press SOURCE repeatedly until the display shows Bluetooth.
2. Turn on the Bluetooth on your enabled device.
3. Select Bluetooth device name “PINELL 001” when it appears on your device’s
screen to initiate searching.
4. You can start to play your music files wirelessly. Adjust the volume level on
your device.
You should not have to pair your device again.
Depending on your device, you may need to make multiple attempts at Pairing
and/or Connecting to “PINELL 001”, but please give your device adequate time
to Pair or Connect before repeating the process.

System
The System menu options are: Sleep, Alarm, Equaliser, Time/Date, Backlight,
Language, Factory Reset, Software Update (not in use), Software Version.
Sleep
When listening to the radio you can set a period of time before the radio enters
“standby” mode.
Note: the radio must be active and not in “standby” mode already.
MENU > : > System Settings > : > Sleep > VOLUME to confirm > : > select
“15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 90 minutes or Sleep Timer Off” > VOLUME to confirm.
Alarm and Snooze
Your radio includes dual alarms.
MENU > : > System Settings > VOLUME > : > Alarm > VOLUME > select
Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 > VOLUME > configure the following parameters:

Source: Buzzer, DAB, or FM
•
Preset: Last listened or 1-20
•
Frequency: Once, Daily, Weekends or Weekdays
•
Time/Date: set adjust as required
•
Duration: 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 90 / 120 sec
•
Volume: 4 to 16
Press VOLUME to snooze (5 / 10 / 15 / 30 min) or long press VOLUME to cancle
the alarm.
Note: Alarm and Snooze functions are only available with USB power connected.
Equaliser
This feature enables you to choose a sound equalization profile.
MENU > : > System Settings > : > Equaliser > VOLUME to confirm > : >
select your option > : > Equaliser > VOLUME to confirm.
Options: Normal/Classic/Jazz/Pop/Rock/Speech/My EQ
My EQ options: Tremble/Bass/Loudness

Time/Date
If there is any DAB+ radio signal, the machine will automatically update the time.
MENU > : > System Settings > : > Time/Date > VOLUME to confirm.
• Set Time/Date: set hour / minute / day / month / year > saved
• Auto update options: Update from Any / Update from DAB / Update from FM
/ No update
• Set 12/24 hour: 12hour/24 hours
Backlight
This radio display has a backlight with adjustable brightness level.
MENU > : > System Settings > : > Backlight > VOLUME to confirm > : >
select “Timeout”, “On level” or “Dim level” > VOLUME to confirm > : > select
your option > VOLUME to confirm.
Options:
Timeout: On - During operation, brightness always remains as set in "On level"
After 60 / 300 / 600 seconds, brightness will be set according to “Dim
level”
On level: High / Medium / Low
Dim level: Low
Language
This feature enables you to change menu language.
MENU > : > System Settings > : > Language > VOLUME > select your
language > VOLUME to confirm.
Factory Reset
This function clears all user defined settings, replacing them with the original
default values, so time/date, preferences/settings, station list and preset stations
are all lost.
MENU > : > System Settings > : > Factory Reset > VOLUME > select “Yes” >
VOLUME to start the factory reset.
Software Version
This is used to display the current software version.
MENU > : > System Settings > : > Software Version > VOLUME to display
current Software version
