This Quick Install Guide includes instruction for basic “plug-and-play” setup of
your preconfigured DekoCast.

refer to the above drawing (Figure 1) of the DekoCast chassis.

4 DEKOCAST Quick Install
1. Connect Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor to the CPU
•Open and inspect the box contents.
•Connect keyboard cable to the keyboard connector (14).
•Connect mouse cable to the mouse connector (15).
•Connect the SVGA monitor cable to the 15-pin “D” connector (2).
2. Connect Video Reference
•Connect a reference video in signal to the Reference connector (4).
Reference video in is terminated.
3. Connect Video Inputs and Outputs
Input/Output (IO) connection depends upon whether you are using
single-channel, dual-channel, or single-channel plus key. DekoCast
must be configured appropriately based on IO setup (see the DekoCast
User’s Guide for proper IO configuration).
OUTPUT
•If output is downstream of the switcher, the VIDEO A OUT BNC (5)
supplies serial digital output.
•If output is upstream of the switcher, the VIDEO A OUT BNC (5)
supplies serial digital output, and the KEY A (VIDEO B)OUT BNC
(6) supplies serial digital key output.
•If you have two channels of output, the VIDEO A OUT BNC (5)
supplies output from the first (A) channel; the KEY A (VIDEO B)
OUT BNC (6) supplies serial digital output from the second (B)
channel.
INPUT
•If you have a single serial digital input source, connect it to the
VIDEO A IN BNC (7).
•If you have video plus key input, connect the serial digital video in
to the VIDEO A IN BNC (7), and connect key input to the KEY A
(VIDEO B)IN BNC (8).
•If you have two input sources, connect them to the VIDEO A IN
BNC (7) and the KEY A (VIDEO B)IN BNC (8).

4. Connect the Dongle
•DekoCast requires and comes pre-installed with a supplied
hardware key, or “dongle", that connects to the system’s parallel
port (11). If the dongle is not connected already, connect it now to
the parallel port (11). If you cannot find the dongle, please contact
your customer service representative.
5. Connect the Power
•Plug a chassis power cable into the socket on each of the two
power supply panels (1a and 1b) and into separate AC power
outlets. Ideally, each power supply should be connected to a
separate electrical circuit.
System voltage: 110/220V auto-sensing, 50/60 Hz
•Plug the SVGA monitor power cable into an AC power outlet.
Make sure that any other peripheral equipment is correctly
connected to a power source.
6. Power Up and Log On
•Turn on the power switch on each power supply panel (1a and 1b).
The LED under each switch lights yellow to indicate that the
system is on and in stand-by mode.
•Press the power switch on the front of the chassis. The LED lights
green, the system boots up and prompts you to log on.
•Log on to Windows 2000 as user “Deko” with blank password.
•Double-click the DekoCast icon on your desktop to launch
DekoCast.
