Powering up the Thermometer Transmitter and Receiver units:
Insert the probe jack into the side of the Thermometer Transmitter and insert 2 AA batteries into each of the
Thermometer Transmitter Unit and the Temperature Receiver Unit. If both units do not start up automatically,
press the power button on each unit. Note: If the Temperature Sensor Probe is not properly inserted, the
Thermometer Transmitter display will appear like this:
Once both units are powered up and the probe is inserted, the receiver display will start flashing, indicating it is
searching for the transmitter signal.
Press the “TX” button on the back of the transmitter to be certain it has sent a signal to the receiver; the receiver
will “beep” when transmission is successful. If the transmitter and the receiver lose their connection to each other,
press and briefly hold the power button on the transmitter to re-connect, and follow by pressing the “TX” button on
the back of the transmitter, to re-send temperature information.
Thermometer Transmitter Functions:
Press the power button briefly to select Fahrenheit and Celsius readings. The temperature reading will be
updated every 16 seconds and this reading will be transmitted to the receiver and displayed under “Cooking
Temperature”. If the cooking temperature is out of the temperature range of the thermometer, the following will
be shown on the LCD:

The temp. is below –50°C (-58°F) The temp.is higher than 200°C (392°F)
Note, this unit will not read temperatures above 392°F, and may be damaged at high temperatures.
Temperature Alert Function
Press the Alert ON/OFF button to switch the Temperature Alert function on or off. If the function is turned on, the
Alert Icon is displayed on LCD. Press the up and down arrow buttons “△”or “▽” to adjust the desired Alert
Temperature. When the desired cooking temperature is reached, the transmitter alert will sound and the Alert Icon
will flash on the LCD. Press any button to stop the sound. The Alert Icon will continue to flash if the cooking
temperature exceeds the Alert Temperature.
Remote Temperature Receiver Functions:
Press the “Search” button briefly to select between Fahrenheit or Celsius readings.
Power Off Mode
Hold the “Power” button for 3 seconds to power off the Transmitter and Receiver. Do the same to turn the units
back on. To conserve battery consumption, it is advised to power off the Transmitter and Receiver when not in use.
When the batteries are low, the low battery icon will flash on the LCD screen, and batteries should be replaced
promptly.
Note and Precautions
Clean the Sensor Probe before inserting it into food.
Insert the Probe tip into the heated food; place the main unit in a cool place.
( The operating temperature of the main unit is 58°F- 392°F and the unit will be damaged if used in
temperatures outside of this range.)
Do not use in a microwave oven or BBQ.
When removing probe from meat, use an oven mitt as the probe will be very hot.
