AVIC-N1 technical menu
To access technical menu in Pioneer navigation AVIC-N1
you have to follow these instructions:
To access it you have to hold RESET and EJECT...release RESET but hold EJECT
You will see following screen:
You have to enter the code with the joystick button:
up, right, up, right, down, right, down, right,
OK (press joystick button).

....a password screen then appears (but you don’t have to input any password)!!
And after several seconds this main technical menu appears.
(use joystick to navigate between screens):

Go into those submenus and first clear out the memory.
Go to file maintenance menu:
Format all the areas and clear all memory.
You'll find options for this under those submenus.

Choose format drive sub-menu:
I.E....clear backup menu, format SRAM.....etc.
Go ahead and clear all memory areas you turn up.
I did with no ill effects other than starting my unit off completely fresh.

Then you will need to go into the Program Force Write menu (from main 3 menus):
At this step you have to insert your original CNDV-40MT disk. Choose “force write” for:
1. System program
2. GPS program
3. Application program

With your 40 version disc inserted into the drive....
forces write all the old software versions.
Depending on your current CNDV-50MT version of software on your navigation system,
you may see a different picture than you see below:

Congratulation! Your system now back to original CNDV-40MT software.
Press “reset” button on you navigation and you are done.
