cold surroundings or when the room temperature rises sharply,
condensation may form inside, and the unit may not be able to
attain
its
full
performance.
To
prevent
this,
allow
the
unit
to
stand
for
about
an
hour
before
switching
it
on,
or
raise
the
room
temperature gradually.

records
audio
data
by
compressing
it

cutting
the
audio
at
the
inaudible
levels

man

technology
is
referred
to
as
ATRAC
(Adap-
tive
TRansform
Acoustic
Coding}.
This
unit
analyzes
perma-
nently
the
frequency
characteristics
of
audio
signal

time
using
a
DSP,
and
performs
highly
precise
controi
of
the
ATRAC
so
that
more
data
is
allocated
to
the
frequency
band
containing
most
audio
signal.

makes
possible

ing

more
musical

The second digital input recording (copy) from a digital-to-digital
recorded source on another MD or DAT is not permitted. This is a
restriction imposed by the SCMS (Serial Copy Management
System). The SCMS (Serial Copy Management System) is a regu-
lation that limits the number of digital signal copy operations in
terms of “number of generations”. This number is variable de-
pending on sources, but at least one generation of digital copy
from the original source is possible with any source.

About digital input recording ; j
The sampling frequency used in the recording of the MJ-D707
is 44.1 kHz, But it can record digital signals from source
components based on other sampling frequencies (BS/CS
tuners, DVD recorders, some DAT recorders) provided that their
sampling frequencies are 32 kHz or 48 kHz. However, if digital
copy of the source is prohibited like in case of a DVD recorder,
digital input recording is not available even when the sampling
frequency can be converted. Also note that the MJ-D70? cannot
convert the 96 kHz sampling frequency. In these cases, record
the analog output from the source.
Lin case of power failure during recording j
lf the MD recorder is turned off accidentally, the power cord is
unplugged or a power failure occurs during recording on a4 blank
MD, immediately turn power ON. If the MD recorder is left for
about a week after such an accidental power failure, the entire
data in the disc will De fost.

En el caso de producirse un fallo en la
alimentacion durante la grabacion
Sila grabadora de MDs se apaga accidentalmente, se desenchufa
el cable de alimentacién o se produce un fallo en la alimentacion
durante la grabacion de un MD virgen, conecte inmediatamente
ia alimentacion. Si la grabadora de MDs no se utiliza durante una
semana después de producirse una desconexidn accidental de la
alimentacion, todas fos datos de! disco se perderan.
Si lo mencionado arriba se produce durante una grabacién
nai en un MD previamente grabado se perderan los datos
adicionales.

EI MD contiene la grabacion de datos del disco o de sus pistas,

Las divisiones entre !as grabaciones de un MD se registran en el UTOC, Después
de realizar repetidamente operaciones de grabacion y edicion con borrados
parciales, el UTOC tal vez se Ilene con datos antes de alcanzar el numero maximo
de pistas (254 pistas). En este caso no se podra grabar mas.
{Tai MD podra grabarse después de realizar la operacion de borrado de 1 pista o
todas las pistas .)
“Disc Full” se visualiza antes de alcanzarse
el tiempo maximo de grabacién del MD
Cuando se raye e! disco o se estropee de cualquier otra forma, esa seccion quedara
automaticamente anulada para la grabacidn, por lo que el tiempo de grabacion
se reducira aun mas.
El tiempo de grabacion restante no puede
aumentar después de borrar algunas
pistas breves.
La informacion dei tiempo de grabacion restante puede que algunas veces no
cuente el tiempo de las pistas que duran menos de 12 segundos.
El tiempo grabado total y el tiempo de
grabacion restante de un MD no
concuerdan con el tiempo maximo de
grabacion del MD,
La unidad minima de grabacion es generalmente de un grupo (unos 2 segundos),
pero los datos inferiores a un grupo tambien ocupan un espacio de unos 2
segundos. Por consiguiente, ei tiempo de grabacion realmente disponible tal vez
sea inferior al tiempo restante visualizado. Ademas, si el disco esté rayado o
estropeado de otra forma, esa seccién quedara automaticamente anulada para
la grabacion, por lo que el tiempo de grabacion se reducira aun mas.
{En este caso, “Defect” se visualiza durante la grabacion y ei numero de pistas
del MD aumenta automaticamente.}
Algunas veces resulta imposible combinar
pistas durante la edician.
La funcién de combinacidn tal vez no se encuentre disponible algunas veces con
un MD en et que se haya grabado o editado repetidamente. Las pistas no pueden
combinarse en los casos siguientes:
@ Cuando una pista fue grabada de una entrada digital (de un CD o MD) mientras
la otra fue grabada de una entrada analdgica.
@ Cuando una pista fue grabada en estérea mientras ta otra fue grabada en el
modo de grabacion mono de larga duracion.
El sonido se interrurnpe durante el avance
rapido o el retroceso répido de una pista
grabada,
Con un MD que ha sido grabado o editado repetidamente, el sonido podra
interrumpirse durante el avance rapido o el retroceso rapide.

To turn off the power supply to the MJ-D707, use the POWER
switch on the main unit. When the STANDBY/ON switch on
the remote control unit is pressed while the power is ON,
the STANDBY indicator on the main unit remains lit and the
power supply to the main unit is not completely shut off. In
this condition, the power can be turned ON using the
STANDBY/ON switch on the remote control unit.
While the STANDBY indicator is lit, the power can be turned
ON automatically by simply inserting an MD.
2. Load an MD.
Hold an MD horizontally with the label side up and insert
gently in the direction of the arrow. The MD will be pulled in
automatically from the middle.
if “Blank MD” is displayed, eject the MD and use another
MD.
A disc will not be accepted if you load it immediately
after switching power ON. Load a disc after “No Disc” is
displayed.
3. Start playback.
Press the play (>) button.
@ When a playback-only MD or a recordable MD contain-
ing the track name data is loaded, the track name is dis-
played by scrolling. (A name composed of no more than
11 characters is not scrolled.)
“No Name” ts displayed if the MD does not contain name
data.

unidad principal se mantendra encendide y ef suministro
de alimentacion a la unidad principal no se cortard
completamente. Bajo esta condicion, la alimentacion puede
conectarse utilizando ef interruptor STANDBY-ON del mando
a distancia
Mientras ef indicador STANDBY esté encendido, la
alimentacion podra conectarse automaticamente insertando
simplemente un MD.
2. Introduzca un MD.
Sujete horizontalmente el MD con el lado de fa etiqueta hacia
arriba e insértelo suavemente en el sentido de la flecha. El
MD sera introducido automaticamente una vez insertado
hasta la mitad.
Sise visualiza “Blank MD”, expulse el MD y utilice otro MD.
Un disco no sera aceptado si coloca inmediatamente
después de activar la alimentacién. Coloque un disco
juego de que se visualiza “No disc”.
3. Inicie la reproduccion.
Pulse el boton de reproduccion (>).
e Cuando se inserte un MO de reproduccion solamente o
un MD grabable que contenga datos de nombres de
pistas, los nombres de las pistas se visualizaran
desplazandose. (Un nombre compuesto de menos de 11
caracteres no se desplazara.)
Si el MD no contiene datos de nombres se visualizara
“No Name".
