This unit is designed to be used in a vehicle with a 12 volt baery and a negave grounding.
Before installing this unit to a recreaonal vehicle, bus, or truck, make sure the baery

To avoid short circuit in the electrical system, ensure that the negave baery cable is
disconnected before installaon.
To avoid possibility of shorng out the electrical circuit in the unit, never connect the baery
wire directly to the vehicle baery.
Always secure all wirings with cable clamps or adhesive tape to prevent short circuit.
Please make sure all wiring connecons and speaker wires are well insulated.
When pulling the dash apart, please use quality trim tools to avoid damaging your dash.
Please do NOT cut any plugs o of any Polaris cameras. Doing so will void your warranty! If
you need to blend other brand cameras into our system, please call Polaris on 1300 555 514
so we can refer you to a recommended dealer who has the skill and experience in performing

instrucons or page 4 For OEM reverse camera wiring instrucons
If there is something you are not 100% sure about when installing this unit, please give our

You shouldn't be required the programme in the steering wheel controls as the power harness

Installaon Notes

Start by removing the two plasc screws in the gauge
housing with a stubby screw driver.
Gently Pull at both ends of the gauge housing to pop it
out. Remove and set aside.
The following installaon pictures have been taken using
the Hilux Maxx head unit. The same principle applies when
removing the factory head unit.

8
With your ngers, gently pry open the long dash trim
panel above the radio gradually working your way
down unl it’s completely removed.
Now open the boom glovebox so that you can grab
the top glovebox. Gently pull it out and put aside.

9
Next is the air condioning control panel. Get your
ngers in behind the panel, pull forward to pop it out
and let it sit there.

10
There are 4 screws that need to be undone (use a
10mm / phillips head), two up the top and two down
the boom. Once they are all out, pull on the fascia
and pop it forward.

11
Remove factory unit and brackets from fascia.
Before removing the fascia be sure to unplug the white
plug in the back of the fascia on the le hand side.
Aer this, unplug all the factory plugs from the back of
the OEM head unit.

12
Push down the 5 metal clips located on the back of the
Hilux Maxx. Once this is done screw the brackets back
onto the fascia and slide the Hilux Maxx in all the way
unl the two holes on each side line up. Once you are
happy with the posioning, screw the head unit to the
brackets.

13
Grab the loom and the necessary cables out of the box
and plug them straight into the factory plugs and into
the Hilux Maxx (please refer page 3 & 4).
If you are using the factory camera, plug it into the
factory camera plug. Please ensure that you also plug
the CAM in yellow RCA jack into the CAM in located on
loom no. 10 from the Hilux Maxx (please see page 3).
See page 13—14 on how to wire up an aermarket /
Polaris camera and mulple cameras to the Hilux Maxx

We don’t suggest picking up power
from the front cam in power wires.
Somemes the 12 volt is not strong
enough to power some cameras.
Even though the actual input is labelled as front camera, you can sll use this input for a second reverse camera. The actual
head unit has an icon on the screen labelled CAM and this can toggle between the 2 cameras installed (regardless if it’s a
front camera or a second rear vision camera). If you want 3 cameras then we suggest purchasing a 2 way control box, see
page 15
Toggling between the 2 cameras without a Control Box
When you engage reverse the unit will always default to your tow vehicle reverse camera, to toggle to your second rear
camera while the vehicle is in reverse press the buon on your head unit.
To view any of the cameras whilst driving, select the Cam icon. It will default to the second camera automacally and if you
wish to view your tow vehicle reverse camera, press the on the touch screen.
