DThe Programmer and Yo r System
Yo have an EP2 Programmer, with which yo can set yo r HOT Water and CENTRAL HEATING to
come ON for two or three time periods per day, with different ON/OFF times for HOT WATER and
CENTRAL HEATING for each day if req ired.
Li] The Programmer B ilt-In ON/OFF Times
The programmer already has b ilt-in ON/OFF periods.
If the programmer has been set to have
2 ON/OFFs then they are:- If the programmer has been set to have

3.2 TO SET THE CLOCK & DAY
Move slider to clock
Adj st displayed time by sing - & + b ttons
Adj st day by pressing DAY b tton
3.3 SETTING THE CENTRAL HEATING ON/OFF TIMES
Move slider to SET
Press HA/V to select Central heating times
Adj st ON1 time sing - & + b ttons
3.4 Press YES to adj st next ON/OFF or NO for previo s
Repeat for all ON/OFFs
Press DAY to go to next day
Repeat these steps for the rest of the week
3.5 COPYING THE CENTRAL HEATING ON/OFF TIMES
Press the DAY b tton to select the day yo want to copy
Press COPY to copy the ON/OFF times to the next day
Repeat as req ired
3.6 SETTING THE HOT WATER ON/OFF TIMES
Press H/W to select hot water times
Adj st ON1 time sing - & + b ttons
3.7 Press YES to adj st next ON/OFF or NO for previo s
Repeat for all ON/OFFs
Press DAY to go to next day
Repeat these steps for the rest of the week
3.8 COPYING THE HOT WATER ON/OFF TIMES
Press the DAY b tton to select the day yo want to copy

aUsing the HW and CH Sliders
The HW and CH sliders are located nder the flap in the middle of the programmer. D ring Normal
Operation, by moving these sliders yo can select how yo wish yo r system to work:
OFF Ignores the time periods set in memory
TIMED Allows the CH or HW to r n to the times yo have set in the programme memory
ONCE Allows yo r CH or HW to r n once a day, from the first ON time to the last OFF time
ON Will t rn the CH or HW on contin o sly 24 ho rs a day
The channel indicators to the right of the HW/CH sliders will ill minate when the relevant channel is
ON and exting ish when the channel is OFF.
mUsing the ADVANCE b ttons
The ADV b ttons allow yo to go forward to the next ON or OFF time, when the sliders are in TIMED
or ONCE position. The b tton on the HW channel advances HW, and the CH b tton advances CH.
The stat s of either channel is shown by the stat s indicators to the right of the sliders.
To advance the programme, simply press the relevant ADV b tton and the CH or HW will go OFF (IF
ON) or ON (IF OFF); press again to ret rn to original stat s.

The EXT b ttons allow yo to extend a c rrent ON period or switch yo r HW or CH on, d ring an
OFF period, for 1, 2 or 3 ho rs. If yo press the b tton a fo rth time, the programmer will r n at the
original ON/OFF times.
NOTE: Using either the EXT or ADV b ttons will not affect the ON/OFF times set in the programmers
memory, the change is only temporary.
Using the EXTEND b ttons
Operation notes
It does take time for the boiler to prod ce the desired heating and hot water temperat res, so set the
programmer switch ON, for example, half an ho r earlier.
Other controls in yo r system (s ch as room, boiler and cylinder thermostats) may affect the switch
ing of yo r boiler. So altho gh the indicator shows that the central heating is ON, the boiler itself
co ld be OFF. (Ask yo r installer to explain how they work).
Programmer memory back p
If the electricity fails or is switched off, the display will go blank and the programmer will maintain the
set times and the clock for 24 ho rs. After that time, yo may have to reset the clock and ON/OFF
times.
NOTE: D ring the time that the electricity is off, any electrical items e.g. Boiler, p mps etc, will not
operate.

Warning: DISCONNECT THE MAINS SUPPLY BEFORE THE PROGRAMMER IS REMOVED
Ens re ALL s pplies to the programmer are f sed to 3 Amps. Internal damage can occ r if not
correctly protected (5 AMP & 13 Amp f ses are NOT s itable).

Diagnosing possible operational problems
SYMPTOM REMEDY
No clock display 1 .Check mains s pply switch to programmer is ON
2.Check mains s pply f ses to programmer are OK
B ttons will not f nction EXT and ADV b ttons will not work if the HW or CH
slider is in OFF or ON mode, or the slider nder the
door is not set to RUN.
Heating and Hot Water will not work 1. Check remedy points nder ‘No clock display’
above.
2. Check programmer o tp t is ON (i.e. is the
indicator lit).
3. Check that external Thermostats are t rned p.

If normal operation cannot be achieved by RESET Programmer by pressing RESET b tton
the above remedies (time of day will need to be set). If symptoms persist
contact the Technical S pport.
