WARNING: The PS750LI MUST BE SWITCHED OFF and the switch key must be
removed BEFORE the charger is connected to it. Ensure all output cables are
disconnected. Failure to do so may damage the charger and will prevent the unit from charging.
Connect the supplied charger to the “CHARGE SOCKET” on the front of the unit. Plug the
charger into the mains (230 VAC 50 Hz). Switch on the charger using the switch on the side
of the charger case. The “CHARGE INDICATOR” LED will illuminate on the unit. The LEDs on
the charger will indicate when the unit is ready for use, however, the PS750LI must be left on
charge when it is not being used. The charger supplied is designed for this purpose.
Before disconnecting the charger from the PS750LI, switch off the charger using the switch
on its side. Only charge using the supplied charger. No other charger should be used as
this may cause damage to the battery. Never leave the PS750LI discharged at any
time. This may cause permanent damage to the batteries and will invalidate the warranty
CHARGING FROM A VEHICLE
The PS750LI may also be charged from a 12 Volt vehicle cigarette lighter socket by using the cigarette
lighter lead supplied. This lead is designed to connect to the charge socket on the PS750LI to the
cigarette lighter on the vehicle. The PS750LI will only be recharged slowly using this lead and only while
the vehicle engine is running. Therefore the pack should normally be recharged using the mains
charger. Insufficient charging of the pack may result in failure and this is not covered by
the Warranty.
STARTING & CONNECTIONS
STARTING VEHICLES
Always follow the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions for safe jump-starting. Ensure the PS750Li key-
switch is in the "OFF" position (all LED’s are off). Switch off all lights and other loads on the vehicle.
Connect the positive (RED) clamp to the vehicle system observing correct polarity. Next connect the
negative (BLACK) clamp.
If the connection polarity is wrong then a buzzer will sound. Disconnect the clamps and reconnect
correctly. Always check that the connection polarity is right even if the buzzer does not sound.
Switch on PS750Li by inserting and turning the switch key to the ON position. Make sure cables are
free of turning parts of engine and start the engine normally. If the engine does not start within 10
seconds, stop and wait for one minute before making a further attempt.
After the engine has started, allow it to run for a few minutes to recharge the vehicle’s on-board battery.
Switch off the engine then switch off the PS750Li. First remove the negative clamp, then the positive
clamp. Store the clamps in the end compartment of the PS750Li. Restart the engine from the vehicle’s
on-board battery.
Note: It is not recommended that the PS750Li is used to start vehicles without a battery fitted or with
a battery that has had the electrolyte dried out. Damage may occur to the PS750Li or the vehicle if the
PS750Li is disconnected or switched off while the engine is running.
TO USE AS AN AUXILLIARY POWER SOURCE
The PS750Li can also be used to maintain the vehicle’s computer memory functions when the vehicle’s
on-board battery is disconnected. The optional lead with two cigarette lighter plugs is used for this
purpose but can only be used with 12 V vehicle systems. The cigarette lighter socket on the PS750Li
cannot be used for charging the batteries.
