presence of flammable substances such as gas, vapour, mist or dust, in atmospheric
conditions when, after ignition, the combustion is spread in the air). Items
containing these substances should never be placed in the appliance, and never be
used to clean the appliance in order to avert the risk of fire or explosion.
The packing materials (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene, etc.) must be kept out
of the reach of children or disabled persons since they represent potential sources

of greater than 45° to the horizontal, so as to prevent damage to the compressor
and refrigeration system of the appliance.
During use and storage, the appliance must be kept away from direct sunlight, and
at a safe distance from sources of heat (open flame, appliances, heaters, stoves, etc.)
or any flammable and/or potentially explosive substances.
Place and use the appliance on a horizontal, stable and heat-resistant surface. The
appliance shall NOT be placed on a surface, or in the vicinity of, objects which can
be damaged by heat such as wood, carpets or plastics. During operation, as heat is
transferred away from the appliance, the surface that the appliance is placed upon
and the rear of the appliance may become very hot. DO NOT locate multiple
portable socket outlets or power supplies at the bottom or rear of the appliance. If
the appliance is operated on wooden furniture, use a protective pad to prevent
damage to delicate finishes.
DO NOT touch the back and bottom of the appliance while it is operating to prevent
scalding, as the regions become hot as the appliance operates.
Place the appliance at a proper distance from objects or surrounding walls making
sure that its functioning will not cause accidental damages. There should be at least

Clean the inside of the appliance with water & detergent with a non-abrasive
sponge.
DO NOT use metal scouring pads.
Ensure that the appliance is completely dry before use and standing at an upright
position for at least an hour before switching on the appliance.
Upon switching on the appliance for the first time, turn the Temperature Control
Rotary Knob to between 3~4. After half an hour, the temperature inside the
appliance should already be cool, and gradually getting colder.
Check that the Indicator Light, Compressor and Ventilation Fan are all working
smoothly. Let the Compressor operate for a period of at least 2 – 3 hours before
placing food & drinks into the appliance.
Always wear protective, insulated gloves when inserting or removing frozen
items from the appliance, especially if contact with the frozen items is prolonged.
Switch off the appliance and unplug the socket from the electric mains during
cleaning or performing any maintenance operation. Make sure at least 5 minutes
have elapsed before switching the appliance back on in order to protect the
compressor and the refrigeration system.
cover the appliance during functioning;
obstruct totally nor partially the air vents;
insert objects or body parts inside the protection cover of the appliance;
turn the Temperature Control Rotary Knob from a high value to a much lower one
without first gradually decreasing its value;
use electrical devices (e.g. hairdryers, heaters, radiators, fans, etc. to melt ice),
mechanical devices (sharp knives, ice-picks, etc. to scrape ice), a direct flame or by
any other means to remove ice from the interior surfaces) when defrosting;
place or use any electrical appliances inside the appliance unless recommended
by the manufacturer;
put oversized foods or large amounts of food into the appliance at the same time;

The numbers 1 – 5 on the Temperature Control Rotary Knob are the temperature
grades, NOT degrees Celsius (°C) on the Temperature scale.
(note: the higher the number, the lower the thermostat and the colder the
temperature. The default temperature is 3~4.).
When food needs to be quickly frozen, turn the Temperature Control Rotary Knob
to 5. When the food has frozen, turn back the Temperature Control Rotary Knob to
between 3~4. Increasing the temperature from a higher value (colder) to a lower
one (hotter) should always be done in increments of 1 over several hours.
DO NOT turn the Temperature Control Rotary Knob from 5 to 1.
DO NOT leave the door of the appliance open for long periods of time or open the
door repeatedly within short periods of time to avoid significant increases in
temperature leading to the spoilage of food. This action, if repeated often, can
damage to the appliance and lead to the shortening of the life of the appliance.
DO NOT place or use any electrical appliances inside the appliance unless
recommended by the manufacturer.
Avoid storing containers made of glass or canned items, as they may break or
explode upon freezing.
Avoid storing medicine or medical products in the appliance.
If the appliance is to be left empty for a long period of time, switch it off, defrost,
clean, dry and leave the door open to prevent mould from developing within the
appliance.
Freezer Compartment
Place fresh and clean raw food, wrapped in airtight boxes or aluminium foil, as
quickly as possible to prevent degradation of food as much as possible and to
preserve the freshness, taste and nutrients in the food. It is advisable to place each
food item in a separate bag or container to avoid mixing of fluids prior to freezing.
DO NOT allow frozen food present in the freezer compartment to have direct
contact with food to be frozen.
DO NOT place fresh fruits and vegetables into the freezer compartment.
Refrigerator Compartment
Avoid putting large amounts of food into the appliance at the same time. Make sure
that there is ample space around each package of food item in order to ensure
adequate circulation of cold air.
Warm food should be allowed to cool down to room temperature before placing
them into the appliance.
In addition to emitting various smells, cooked food especially meat, fish & other
seafood, or pickled dishes, etc. may dry out when being placed in the refrigerator
compartment. As such, cooked food should be covered and sealed with clingfilm,
wrapped in aluminium foil, or stored in airtight containers.
Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers at the bottom of the refrigerator
compartment BELOW cooked food so that it is NOT in contact with or allowed to
drip onto other food.

Turn the Temperature Control Rotary Knob to “OFF”, switch off the appliance and
unplug the socket from the electric mains before cleaning or conducting
maintenance. Open the doors of the appliance.
Wait until the interior of the appliance has completely warmed up, and the
compressor cooled down, before cleaning or performing any maintenance
operation.
If the interior of the appliance is covered with a layer of frost, defrosting needs to
be carried out. Not performing this action may lead to an increase in electricity
consumption and a lessening of the effects of refrigeration.
DO NOT use electrical devices (e.g. hairdryers, heaters, radiators, fans, etc. to melt
ice), mechanical devices (sharp knives, ice-picks, etc. to scrape ice), a direct flame or
by any other means to remove ice from the interior surfaces) when defrosting.
After defrosting, clean the interior of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth. If
necessary, you can use a cloth moistened with mild liquid detergent. DO NOT use
abrasive scouring pads or powders.
Wipe the exterior of the appliance using a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Remove
stubborn spots with a cloth moistened with mild liquid detergent. DO NOT use
abrasive scouring pads or powders.
DO NOT soak the appliance in water or other liquids, wash it under the tap, or let
any liquid flow into the internal casing of the appliance to prevent electric shock
After cleaning, dry every surface using a soft cloth before restarting the appliance.
Remove dust and grime from the Condenser to keep it in good working order.
Rubbing some talcum powder on the gasket of the Freezer Door may help prolong
its life.
