GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY RULES
WARNING: Read and understand all warnings, cautions and operating instructions
before using this equipment. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in
electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury.
WORK AREA SAFETY
• Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids,
gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adaptor plugs
in any earthed (grounded) power tools. Double insulated tools are equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse
the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install a polarized outlet. Do not change the plug in
any way. Double insulation eliminates the need for the three wire grounded power cord and grounded power supply
system.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk
of electric shock.
and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded.
Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away
from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged cords increase the risk of electric shock.
These
cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electric shock.
While the tool may appear to work. The
electrical components of the AC rated tool are likely to fail and rate a hazard to the operator.
PERSONAL SAFETY
watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use tool while
tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol,or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may
result in serious personal injury.
Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety
shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving
parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.Air vents may cover moving parts and should
be avoided.
Ensure the switch is in the off position before plugging in. Carrying power tool with
your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
A wrench or key that
is left attached to a rotating part of the tool may result in personal injury.
Maintain proper footing and balance at all times. Loss of balance can cause an injury in an
unexpected situation.
these are connected and properly used. Use of these devices can reduce dust related hazards.
Stable footing on a solid surface enables better control of the
tool in unexpected situations.
Slippery handles cannot safely control
the tool.

English
TOOL USE AND CARE
Use clamp or other practical way to hold the workpiece to a stable platform. Holding the
workpiece by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of control.
The tool will perform the job better and safer at the feed rate for which it is
designed. Forcing the tool could possibly damage the tool and may result in personal injury.
Don’t force the tool or attachment to do a job for which it is not
designed.
Any tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is
dangerous and must be repaired or replaced by an authorized service center.
from the power source and/or battery pack from the power
tool before making any adjustments, changing the accessories, or storing the tools. Such preventive safety measures
reduce the risk of an accidental start up which may cause personal injury.
It is dangerous in the
hand of untrained users.
Check for proper alignment and binding of moving parts, component breaks,
and any other conditions that may affect the tool’s operation. A guard or any other part that is damaged must be
properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service center to avoid risk of personal injury.
Using accessories and attachments not recommended by the manufacturer
or intended for use on this type tool may cause damage to the tool or result in personal injury to the user. Consult the
operator’s manual for recommended accessories.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less
likely to bind and are easier to control.
Feed the workpiece into a blade, cutter, or
abrasive surface against the direction of the cutting tool’s direction of rotation only. Incorrectly feeding the workpiece
in the same direction may cause the workpiece to be thrown out at high speed.
Do not leave the tool until it comes to
a complete stop.
BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE
• Ensure the trigger switch is in the off position before inserting battery pack. Inserting the
battery pack into power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
• Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one
type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
• . Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of
injury and fire.
• Avoid storing battery pack in a container with other metal objects such as nails, coins,
clips, keys, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one
terminal to another. Always protect the battery terminals when battery pack is not being used. Connecting the
battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
• y. Avoid contact. If contact
accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
•Battery tools do not need to be plugged into an electrical outlet, therefore, they are always in
operation condition. Be aware of possible hazards when not using your battery tool or when changing accessories.
Following this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock, fire or personal injury.
SERVICE
using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
When cleaning a tool, be careful not to disassemble any portion of the
tool since internal wires may be misplaced or pinched.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR CHAIN SAW
Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain when the chain saw is operating. Before you start
the chain saw, make sure the saw chain is not contacting anything. A moment of inattention while operating chain
saws may cause entanglement of you clothing or body with the saw chain.
Always hold the chain saw with your right hand on the rear handle and your left hand on
the front handle. Holding the chain saw with a reversed hand configuration increases the risk of personal injury
and should never be done.
because the saw chain may contact hidden
wiring or its own cord. Saw chain contacting a ”live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool” live”
and could give the operator an electric shock.
Wear safety glasses and hearing protection. Further protective equipment for head, hands, legs and
feet is recommended. Adequate protective clothing will reduce personal injury by flying debris or accidental contact
with the saw chain.
Do not operate a chain saw in a tree. Operation of chain saw while up a tree may result in personal injury.
Always keep proper footing and operate the chain saw only when standing on fixed, secure and
level surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces such as ladders may cause a loss of balance or control of the chain saw.
When cutting a limb that is under tension, be alert for spring back. When the tension in the wood
fibers is released the spring-loaded limb may strike the operator and/or throw the chain saw out of control.
The slender material may catch the saw
chain and be whipped forward toward you or pull you off balance.
body. When transporting or storing the chain saw always fit the guide bar cover. Proper handling of the chain saw
will reduce the likelihood of accidental contact with the moving saw chain.
Follow instruction for lubricating, chain tensioning and changing accessories. Improperly tensioned or
lubricated saw chain may either brake or increase the chance of kickback.
Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Greasy, oily handles are slippery causing loss
of control.
Do not use chain saw for purposes not intended. For example: do not use chain saw for cutting
plastic, masonry or non-wood building materials. Use of the chain saw for operations different than intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
We strongly recommend that first time users practice sawing logs on a saw horse or
cradle.
CAUSES AND OPERATOR PREVENTION OF KICKBACK (FIG 1,2,3,4)
Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar touches an object, or when the
Tip contact in some cases may cause a sudden reverse reaction, kicking the guide bar up and back towards the operator.
Pinching the saw chain along the top of the guide bar may push the guide bar rapidly back towards the operator.
Either of these reactions may cause you to lose control of the saw which could result in serious personal injury. Do not
rely exclusively upon the safety devises built into your saw. As a chain saw user, you should take several steps to keep
your cutting jobs free from accident or injury.

FIG 3 FIG 4
6
English
Kickback is a result of tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and
can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below:
with both
hands on the saw and position your body and arm to allow you to resist kickback forces. Kickback forces can be
controlled by the operator, if proper precautions are taken. Do not let go of the chain saw.
Do not overreach and do not cut above shoulder height. This helps prevent unintended tip contact
and enables better control of the chain saw in unexpected situations.
Only use replacement bars and chains specified by the manufacturer. Incorrect replacement
bars and chains may cause chain breakage and/or kickback.
Follow the manufacturer’s sharpening and maintenance instructions for the saw chain.
Decreasing the depth gauge height can lead to increased kickback.
Do not let the nose
of the guide bar contact a log, branch, fence, or any other obstruction that could be hit while you are operating the
saw.
Always cut with the unit running at full speed. Fully squeeze the throttle trigger and maintain a steady
cutting speed.
, chain brakes and special guide bars that reduce
the risks associated with rotational kickback. Use only the replacement guide bars and low kickback chains
specified by the manufacturer for the saw.
This reaction force is always opposite to the direction the chain is moving where wood contact
is made. Thus, the operator must be ready to control the when cutting along the top edge. when
cutting on the bottom edge of the bar. See fig 3 & 4.
BEFORE USING A NEW CHAIN SAW
Fully charge the battery before using it the first time. See instructions under the heading "Charging
the Battery".
Fill with chain oil. See instructions under the heading "Filling with Chain Oil".
. See instructions under the
heading "Assembly".

The new chain saw comes with the guide bar and saw chain uninstalled. To install and adjust the guide bar and chain,
See instructions under the section: "REPLACING THE BAR AND CHAIN" in the Maintenance section of this manual.
INSTALLING OR REMOVING THE BATTERY PACK (FIG 8)
The battery pack is not fully
charged when it is purchased. Before using the chain saw
for the first time, charge the battery pack. Make sure to
read all safety precautions and follow the instructions in the
Charging Battery section.
WARNING: Always be sure that
the tool is switched off before insertion or
removal of the battery pack.
kNOWING YOUR CHAIN SAW
The chain saw can be running at two speeds. To select the speed, slide
the speed selector (9) forward for fast speed, backward for slow speed.
See FIG 7.
Using the saw with slow speed only reduces the chain speed
not the cutting power of the saw.
The low kickback saw chain helps minimize the force of a kickback
reaction by preventing the cutters from digging in too deeply at the
kickback zone.
The chain catcher is designed to catch the chain if it snaps or jumps off. This should not happen if the chain is properly
tensioned and if the bar and chain are properly serviced and maintained.

may spill and cause a fire.
WARNING:
always remove the battery pack from the tool before filling the tank with oil.
Use Bar and Chain Lubricant. It is designed for chains and chain oilers and is formulated to perform over a wide
temperature range with no dilution required.
The chain saw is not filled with oil at the time of purchase. It is essential to fill the tank with oil before use.
Operating the chain saw without chain oil or when the oil level is below the minimum mark will result in damage to the
chain saw. Chain life and cutting capacity depend on optimum lubrication. The chain is automatically lubricated with
chain oil during operation.
• Remove the chain oil tank cap.
• Carefully pour the bar and chain oil into the tank.
• Wipe off excess oil.
• Check and fill the oil tank when quick view oil indicator is below the MIN line
• Repeat as needed.
Do not use dirty, used or otherwise contaminated oils. Damage may occur to the bar or chain.
There is foam inserted inside the oil reservoir to fitter dirt and debris from the oil pump.
It is normal for oil to seep from the saw when not in use. To prevent seepage, empty the oil tank after each
use then run for one minute. When storing the unit for a long period of time (three months or longer) be sure the chain
islightlylubricated;thiswillpreventrustonthechainandbarsprocket.

any part of your body to be in the chain line
• Balance your weight with both feet on solid ground.
• Keep left arm with elbow locked in a “straight arm”
position to withstand any kickback force.
• Keep your body to the left of the chain line.
• Keep your thumb on underside of handlebar.
CUTTING
WARNING: Always be sure of your
footing and hold the chain saw firmly with both
hands while the motor is running.
Practice cutting a few small logs using the following
technique to get the “feel” of using the saw before you
begin a major sawing operation.
• Take the proper stance in front of the wood with the saw idling.
• Press the lock-off button and squeeze the trigger switch then release the lock-off button and let the chain accelerate
to full speed before entering the cut.

• Begin cutting with the saw against the log.
• Keep the unit running the entire time you are cutting, maintain a steady speed.
• Allowthechaintocutforyou;exertonlytightdownwardpressure.Forcingthecutcouldresultindamagetothebar,
chain, or motor.
• Release the trigger switch as soon as the cut is completed, allowing the chain to stop. If you run the saw without a
cutting load, unnecessary wear can occur to the chain, bar, and unit.
• Do not put pressure on the saw at the end of the cut.
WARNING: When the saw chain is stopped due to pinching during cutting, release
the trigger switch; remove the saw chain and guide bar from the wood, then restart the chain
saw.
WARNING: Do not pull the saw chain with your hand when it is bound by the sawdust.
the wood, move the chain saw back and forth to discharge the debris. Always remove the
battery pack before cleaning. Wear heavy protective gloves when handling the saw chain.
WARNING: Always allow the chain saw reach full speed before applying the saw to
the wood.
FELLING A TREE
WARNING: When felling a tree, it is important that you heed the following warnings
to prevent possible serious injury.
• Do not fell trees during periods of high wind or heavy precipitation. Wait until the hazardous weather has ended.
• Do not fell trees that lean at extreme angles or large trees with rotten limbs, loose bark, or hollow trunks. Instead,
have these trees pushed or dragged down with heavy equipment and then cut them up.
• Do not fell trees near electrical wires or buildings.
• Check the tree for damaged or dead branches that could fall and hit you during felling.
• Periodically glance at the top of the tree during the back cut to assure the tree is going to fall in the desired direction.
• If the tree starts to fall in the wrong direction, or if the saw gets caught or hung up during the fall, leave the saw and
save yourself!
• Felling a tree — When bucking and felling operations are
being performed by two or more persons, at the same
time, the felling operation should be separated from the
bucking operation by a distance of at least twice the
height of the tree being felled. Trees should not be felled
in a manner that would endanger any person, strike any
utility line or cause any property damage. If the tree does
make contact with any utility line, the utility company
should be notified immediately.
• Operator should keep on the uphill side of terrain as the
tree is likely to roll or slide after it is felled.
• Pick your escape route (or routes in case the intended
route is blocked). Clear the immediate area around the
tree and make sure there are no obstructions in your
planned path of retreat. Clear the path of safe retreat
approximately 135° from the planned line of fall. See Fig
17.

KICKBACK
English
• Consider the force and direction of the wind, the lean and balance of the tree, and the location of large limbs. These
things influence the direction in which the tree will fall. Do not try to fell a tree along a line different from its natural
line of fall.
• Remove dirt, stones, loose bark, nails, staples, and wire from the tree where felling cuts are to be made.
• Cut a notch about 1/3 the diameter of the trunk in the
side of the tree. Make the notch cuts so they intersect
at a right angle to the line of fall. This notch should be
cleaned out to leave a straight line.To keep the weight of
the wood off the saw, always make the lower cut of the
notch before the upper cut.
• As the felling cut gets close to the hinge the tree should
begin to fall. If there is any chance the tree may not fall
in the desired direction or it may rock back and bind the
saw chain, stop cutting before the felling cut is complete
and use wedges of wood, plastic or aluminum to open the
cut and drop the tree along its desired line of fall. Make
the back-cut level and horizontal, and at a minimum of
2" (5 cm) above the horizontal cut of the notch.
Never cut through to the notch. Always
leave a band of wood between the notch and back cut
(approximately 2" (5 cm) or 1/10 the diameter of the
tree). This is called “hinge” or “hinge wood.” It controls
the fall of the tree and prevents slipping or twisting or
shoot back of the tree off the stump.
• On large diameter trees, stop the back cut before it is
deep enough for the tree to either fall or settle back on
the stump. Then insert soft wooden or plastic wedges
into the cut so they do not touch the chain. Drive wedges
in, little by little, to help jack the tree over. See figure 19.
• As tree starts to fall, stop the chain saw and put it down
immediately. Retreat along the cleared path but watch
the action in case something falls your way.
REMOVING BUTTRESS ROOTS
A buttress root is a large root extending from the trunk of the
tree above the ground.Apply a vertical cut and horizontal cut
as shown in figure 20. Remove the resulting loose section
from the work area. Follow the correct tree felling procedure
as stated in Proper Procedure for Tree Felling after you have
removed the large buttress roots.
BUCKING
Bucking is the term used for cutting a fallen tree to the
desired log length.
• Always make sure your footing is secure and your weight
is distributed evenly on both feet.
• Cut only one log at a time.
• Support small logs on a saw horse or another log while
bucking.

• Keep a clear-cutting area. Make sure that no objects can contact the guide bar nose and chain during cutting, this
can cause kickback. Refer to Kickback earlier in this manual.
• When bucking on a slope, always stand on the uphill side of the log. To maintain complete control of the chain saw
when cutting through the log, release the cutting pressure near the end of the cut without relaxing your grip on the
chain saw handles. Do not let the chain contact the ground. After completing the cut, wait for the saw chain to stop
before you move the chain saw. Always stop the motor before moving from tree to tree.
CUTTING TREES AND BRANCHES THAT ARE IN TENSION
Work out which side is in tension and
where the point of maximum tension is (i.e. where it would
break if it was bent even more). Decide which is the safest
way to release the tension and whether you are able to do
it safely. In complicated situations the only safe method is
to put aside your chain saw and use a winch.
General Advice
Position yourself so that you will be clear of the tree or
branch when the tension is released. See fig 22.
• Make one or more cuts at or near the point of maximum
tension. Make as many cuts of sufficient depth as
necessary to reduce the tension and make the tree or
branch break at the point of maximum tension. See fig
23.
• If you must cut across tree/limb, make two to three cuts,
one inch apart, one to two inches deep. See fig 24.
• Continue to cut deeper until tree/limb bends and tension
is released.
• Cut tree/limb from outside the bend, after tension has
been released. See fig 25.
LIMBING (FIG 26)
WARNING:
accidents occur during limbing. Do not use
Be extremely cautious and avoid contacting the log, other
limbs or objects with the nose of the guide bar. Be extremely
cautious of limbs under tension. They can spring back
toward you and cause loss of control resulting in injury.
When limbing, leave larger, lower limbs to support the tree
off the ground. Limbs should be cut one at a time. Branches
under tension should be cut from the bottom up to avoid
binding the chain saw.
Make sure that you can stand and move about safely. Work on the left side of the trunk. Work as close as possible to the
chain saw for maximum control. If possible, let the weight of the chain saw rest on the trunk.
Keep the trunk between you and the chain saw as you move along the trunk.
