SAFETY PRECAUTION
For safety instructions specific to your equipment, read all product documentation provided.
Owner Instructions
Follow all instructions in this document before installing and using the equipment and follow any
labels on the equipment.
lUse the equipment only for its intended purpose as described in this document. Do not use
accessory attachments that are not recommended by Precor. Such attachments may cause
injuries.
lAssemble and operate the equipment on a solid, level surface.
lRegular maintenance must be performed by qualified technicians.
lMake sure that trainers, facility personnel, and maintenance technicians understand how
to use the equipment, know important safety guidelines, and can recognize potential prob-
lems such as a cracked weld.
lStrength training requires significant focus by the facility and staff to maintain the quality
of the fitness environment. If possible, the facility should provide direct supervision of the
fitness equipment at all times by people knowledgeable about the safe operation of the
equipment and trained to recognize potential problems.
lIf any facility personnel witness unsafe use of the equipment, they should address the user
directly to demonstrate the proper techniques, and review with the user the User Instruc-
tions in this document. Precor recommends posting a copy of the User Instructions near
the equipment in a prominent location.
lMake sure the equipment is stable and placed on a solid surface. The equipment is
designed to be freestanding; however, it can be bolted to the floor for extra stability. Pre-
cor highly recommends that the equipment be bolted to the floor to reduce the risk of the
equipment toppling due to improper use. Since floor construction varies, please consult a
licensed contractor for proper fastening.
lLocate the equipment at least 40 inches (1 meter) away from walls or furniture on either
side of the equipment, and 40 inches (1 meter) away from objects behind the equipment.
lPerform the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks outlined in the Maintenance
Guide. Visit the product page on www.precor.com for the complete maintenance guide.
lPlace an "out-of-order" sign on the equipment during maintenance of the equipment or
the surrounding area, and ensure the facility personnel do not allow anyone to use the
equipment until it has been inspected and works properly. If a piece of equipment needs
service, keep it out of use until it is repaired.
lDo not try to fix any jammed assemblies without assistance, this may cause injury. With
the help of another person, carefully return the mechanism to its proper resting position.
lDo not place the equipment outdoors or on wet surfaces.
lMaintain the equipment as described in the Maintenance Guide to keep it in good working
condition. Inspect the equipment for incorrect, worn, or loose components, and then cor-
rect, replace, or tighten prior to use.
lIf you plan to move the equipment, obtain help and use proper lifting techniques.
lDo not attempt to service the equipment yourself, except to follow the maintenance
instructions in the Maintenance Guide.
lEnsure all users see a physician for a thorough medical exam before they begin any fitness
program, particularly if they have high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease;
have a family history of any of the preceding conditions; are over the age of 45; smoke; are
obese; have not exercised regularly in the past year; or are taking any medication.
lDo not allow children, or people unfamiliar with the operation of this equipment, on or
near it. Do not leave children unsupervised around the equipment.
lMake sure all users wear proper exercise clothing and shoes for their workouts and avoid
loose or dangling clothing.
lUsers should not wear shoes with heels or leather soles, and users should check the soles
of their shoes to remove any dirt and embedded stones. Users should tie long hair back.
User Instructions
WARNING Before beginning any fitness program, see your physician for a thorough
medical exam.
When using exercise equipment, always take basic precautions, including the following:
lRead, understand, and test the emergency stop procedures before use.
lIf you do not understand how to operate a piece of equipment, ask someone from the facil-
ity, such as a trainer, to demonstrate how to use it and explain any safety instructions.
lDo not allow children on or near the equipment. Do not leave children unsupervised around
the equipment.
lUse the equipment only for its intended purpose. Do not use accessory attachments that
are not recommended by the manufacturer. Such attachments may cause injuries.
lWear proper exercise clothing and shoes for your workout and avoid loose or dangling
clothing. Do not wear shoes with heels or leather soles and check the soles of your shoes
to remove any dirt and embedded stones. Tie long hair back.
lDo not overexert yourself or work to exhaustion. Use reasonable judgment when working
with weights. Avoid using excessive weight, which may cause injury.
lStop exercising immediately if you feel pain or abnormal systems; and consult a physician.
lKeep head, limbs, fingers, and hair clear of all moving parts while the equipment is in use.
Keep hands clear of racking pegs.
lNever drop or insert objects into any opening in the equipment.
