SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. All safety and operating instructions should be read before the appliance is operated

5. This appliance should not be used near water; for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry

For example, the appliance should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug, or similar surface that may block the

13.If an outside antenna is connected to the receiver, be sure the antenna system is grounded so as to provide

14.The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet when left unused for a long period of
time.
15.Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through
openings.
16.The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
A. The power supply cord or the plug has been damaged; or
B. Objects have fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the appliance; or
C. The appliance has been exposed to rain; or
D. The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance; or
E. The appliance has been dropped, or the enclosure damaged.

17.The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in the operating instructions. All
other servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel.
Follow the advice below for safe and appropriate operations.
ON PROTECTION AGAINST LASER ENERGY EXPOSURE
As the laser beam used in this compact disc player is harmful to the eyes, do not attempt to disassemble the
casing.
Stop operation immediately if any liquid or solid object should fall into the cabinet.
Do not touch the lens or poke at it. If you do, you may damage the lens and the player may not operate
properly.
Do not put anything in the safety slot. If you do, the laser diode will be ON when the CD door is still open.
If the unit is not to be used for a long period of time, make sure that all power sources are disconnected from
the unit. Remove all batteries from the battery compartment, and unplug the power cord or the AC-DC
adaptor if used, from the wall outlet. Make it a practice to remove the AC-DC adaptor by grasping the main
body and not by pulling the cord.
This unit employs a laser. The use of controls or adjustment or performance of procedures other than those
specified here may result in exposure to hazardous radiation.
ON PLACEMENT
Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty or humid.
Place the unit on a flat and even surface.
Do not restrict the air-flow of the unit by placing it in a place with poor ventilation, by covering it with a cloth or
by placing it on a carpet.
ON CONDENSATION
When left in a heated room where it is warm and damp, water droplets or condensation may form inside the
unit.
When there is condensation inside the unit, the unit may not function normally.
Let it stand for 1 to 2 hours before turning the power on, or gradually heat the room up and dry the unit before
use.

POWER SOURCE
This unit operates on 8 X „C‟ (UM-2) size batteries or from AC120V/60Hz line power supply.
A. DC POWER OPERATION
1. Open the Battery Cover (#18).
2. Insert 8 “C”(UM-2) size batteries (not included) according to the polarity diagram on the back cabinet.
3. Close the Battery Cover (#18).
IMPORTANT: Be sure that the batteries are installed correctly. Wrong polaritymay damage the unit.
Note: For better performance and longer operating time, we recommend the use of alkaline-type batteries.
(a)Do not mix old and new batteries.
(b)Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
If the unit is not to be used for an extended period of time, remove the batteries. Old or leaking batteries can cause
damage to the unit and may void the warranty.
B. AC OPERATION
1. Connect the included AC Power Cord to the AC Mains (#17) on the back of the unit.
2. Connect the other end of the AC Power Cord to a wall outlet with AC120V/60Hz power supply.
CD PLAYER OPERATION
1. Set the Function Selector (#2) to the "CD" position.
2. Open the CD Door (#7). Place an audio CD with its label side upward in the CD compartment and close the
CD Door.
3. After a few seconds, the total number of tracks on the CD will appear in the LCD Display (#6).
4. Press the CD PLAY/PAUSE Button (#11) and
the CD will start playing from the first track. The LCD Display will
light steadily.
5. Adjust the Volume Control (#3) to obtain the desired sound level from the Speakers (#16).
6. To suspend playing, press the CD PLAY/PAUSE Button (#11). The LCD Display will flash. To resume playing,
press the CD PLAY/PAUSE Button (#11) again.
7. You can choose to play your favorite track directly by pressing the Skip + / Skip- Buttons (#15) to skip forward or
backward. The LCD Display (#6) will indicate the correct track number selected.
8. To repeat playing a particular track, press the REPEAT Button (#12) once.
9. To repeat playing the entire CD,
,,press the REPEAT Button (#12) twice.
10. To stop playing, press the STOP Button (#5).
11. When you wish to turn off the CD player, set the Function Selector (#2) to the "OFF" position.
MP3 PLAYER OPERATION
1. PLAY / PAUSE
Press the PLAY / PAUSE button (# 11) once to play an MP3 and double click the same button to suspend it.
2. You can select to play your favorite track directly if you press Skip+/Skip- (#15) to move forward or backward.
The LCD display (# 6) will show the selected track number.
3. To repeat playback of a particular track, press REPEAT (#12) once.
4. To repeat the entire CD playback, press REPEAT (#12) twice.
5. To stop playback, press the STOP button (#5).

CD/MP3 PROGRAMMED PLAY
This function allows the tracks to be played in a programmed sequence.
1. Under CD stop condition, press the PROG. Button (#4). The LCD Display (#6) will display “01” and the FM
Stereo Indicator (#9) will flash.
2. Press the Skip+/Skip- Button (#15) to select the song to be programmed.
3. Press the PROG. Button (#4) again to store selection. The LCD Display (#6) will advance to “02”.
4. Press the Skip+/Skip- (#15) to select the next song to be programmed
and press the PROG. Button to store
selection.
5. You may repeat steps #2 - #3
to program as many as 20 tracks. If you attempt to program more than 20
tracks, the LCD Display (#6) will revert to “01” and the old entry will be overwritten by the current new entry!
6. Press STOP Button (#5) to end programming and return to normal play mode.
7. To check the programmed tracks, press PROG. Button (#11) continuously to show all the programmed
songs. The LCD Display (#6) will display the program number first and then followed by the flashing track
number.
8. Press CD PLAY/PAUSE Button (#11) to begin programmed play. The first track in program will appear in the
LCD Display (#6).
9. To cancel programmed play, press the CD STOP Button (#5).
10. As long as the unit remains on and the CD Door (#7) is not opened, you can resume programmed play any
time by pressing the PROG. Button (#4) and then PLAY/PAUSE Button (#11) in stop condition.
RADIO RECEPTION
1.Set the Function Selector (#2) to the "RADIO" position.
2.Set the Band Selector (#5) to either "AM", “FM” or “FM Stereo” for the desired radio band. To receive a weak
(noisy) FM station, set the Band Selector to the “FM” position. The reception may be improved, but the sound
will be monaural (MONO).
3.Adjust the Tuning Knob (#13) to obtain the desired radio station.
4.Adjust the Volume Control (#3) to obtain the desired sound level.
5.When you wish to turn off the Radio, set the Function Selector (#2) to the "OFF" position.
TIPS FOR GOOD RADIO RECEPTION
1.To insure maximum FM tuner sensitivity, the Telescopic Antenna (#8) should be fully extended and rotated to
obtain the best possible reception. The FM Stereo Indicator will light steadily when a stereo program is being
received.
2.When tuning in AM reception, be sure to place the unit in a vertical position. To insure the maximum AM
sensitivity, try repositioning the unit until the best reception is obtained.
USING AUX-IN Jack
1. Inserting the external signal jack into AUX-IN jack, then this unit will be used as speaker.
2. Adjust the volume by volume control (#3)
3. Stop this function, power off the unit and plug out the jack.
Remark: while using this function, other function keys are invalid except volume. To go back to play CDs normally
you must unplug the AUX cable.

READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE USING YOUR HEADPHONES
1.Avoid extended play at very high volume as it may impair your hearing.
2.If you experience ringing in your ears, reduce the volume or shut off your unit.
3.Do not use while driving a motorized vehicle. This is dangerous and also illegal in some areas.
4.Keep the volume at a reasonable level even if your headset is an open-air type designed to allow you to hear
outside sounds. Please note excessively high volume may still block outside sounds.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Clean your unit with a damp (never wet) cloth. Solvent or detergent should never be used.
2. Avoid leaving your unit in direct sunlight or in hot, humid or dusty places.
3. Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps or
motors.
4. If drop-outs or interruptions occur in the music during CD play, or if the CD fails to play at all, its bottom surface
may require cleaning. Before playing, wipe the disc from the center outwards with a good soft cleaning cloth.

SOBRE LA PROTECCIÓN EN CONTRA DE EXPOSICIÓN A ENERGÍA LÁSER
No intente desarmar la carcasa de este equipo, ya que el rayo láser que utiliza es dañino para los ojos.

FUENTE DE ENERGÍA
Esta unidad funciona con 8 baterías tamaño 'C’ (UM-2) o conectada al suministro eléctrico CA120V/60Hz.
A. FUNCIONAMIENTO CON ALIMENTACIÓN POR BATERIAS
1. Abra la tapa de las baterías (#18).
2. Inserte las 8 baterías “C” (UM-2) (no incluidas) de acuerdo al diagrama de polaridad que se encuentra en la
parte de atrás de la carcasa.
3. Cierre la tapa de las baterías (#18).
IMPORTANTE: Asegúrese de que las baterías se encuentren bien instaladas. Si la polaridad no es la correcta,
podría dañar la unidad.
Observación: Para un funcionamiento extendido y de mejor calidad, recomendamos utilizar baterías alcalinas.
(a)No mezcle baterías antiguas con nuevas.
(b)No mezcle baterías alcalinas, estándar (carbón-zinc) o recargables (níquel-cadmio).
Retire las baterías si la unidad no va a ser utilizada durante un periodo prolongado. Las baterías antiguas o con
filtraciones pueden provocar daños en la unidad y anular la garantía.
B. FUNCIONAMIENTO CON ALIMENTACIÓN CA
1. Conecte el cable de alimentación CA al conector correspondiente (#17) en la parte posterior de la unidad.
2. Conecte el otro extremo del cable CA al tomacorriente de suministro CA 120V/60Hz.
FUNCIONAMIENTO DEL REPRODUCTOR DE CD
1. Ajuste el selector de función (CD/OFF/Radio) (#2) a la posición “CD”.
2. Abra la tapa del compartimiento de CD (#7). Coloque un CD de audio en la posición correcta (etiqueta hacia
arriba) en el compartimiento y cierre la tapa.
3. Después de unos segundos, aparecerán el número total de pistas del CD en la pantalla LCD (#6).
4. Presione el botón REPRODUCIR/PAUSAR (#11) y el CD comenzará a reproducir las pistas automáticamente
desde la primera.
5. Ajuste el control del volumen (#3) para obtener el nivel de volumen deseado en los altavoces (#16).
6. Para suspender la reproducción, presione el botón REPRODUCIR/PAUSAR (#11). La pantalla LCD
destellará. Para reiniciar la reproducción, presione el botón REPRODUCIR/PAUSAR (#11) otra vez.
7. Puede seleccionar reproducir su pista favorita directamente al presionar el botón Saltar+/Saltar- (#15) para
avanzar o retroceder. La pantalla de LCD (#6) indicará el número de pista correcto seleccionado.
8. Para repetir la reproducción de una pista particular, presione el botón REPETIR (#12) una vez.
9. Para repetir la reproducción de CD completo, presione el botón REPETIR (#12) dos veces.
10. Para detener la reproducción, presione el botón DETENER (#5).
11. Cuando desee apagar el reproductor de CD, ajuste el Selector de Función (CD/OFF/Radio) (#2) a la posición
"OFF".
FUNCIONAMIENTO DEL REPRODUCTOR DE MP3
1. REPRODUCIR/PAUSAR
Presione el botón REPRODUCIR/PAUSAR (#11) una vez para reproducir un MP3 y presione dos veces el mismo
botón para suspenderla.
2. Puede seleccionar reproducir su pista favorita directamente si presiona el botón Saltar+/Saltar- (#15) para
avanzar o retroceder. La pantalla LCD (#6) indicará el número de pista seleccionado.
3. Para repetir la reproducción de una pista particular, presione el botón REPETIR (#12) una vez

5. Para detener la reproducción, presione el botón DETENER (#5).
REPRODUCCIÓN PROGRAMADA DE CD/MP3
Esta función permite que las pistas se reproduzcan en una secuencia programada.
1. Con el CD detenido presione el botón PROG+10 (#4). La pantalla LCD (#6) exhibirá “01” y el indicador FM
Estéreo (#9) destellará.
2. Presione el botón Saltar+/Saltar- (#15) para seleccionar la canción programada.
3. Presione el botón PROG+10 (#4) otra vez para almacenar la selección. La pantalla LCD (#6) avanzará al
número “02”.
4. Presione el botón Saltar+/Saltar- (#15) para seleccionar la canción programada y presione el botón PROG
para almacenar la selección.
5. Usted puede repetir los pasos #2 - #3 para programar hasta 20 pistas. Si intenta programar más de 20 pistas,
la pantalla LCD (#6) volverá al número “01” y la entrada anterior será sobrescrita por la entrada nueva.
6. Presione el botón DETENER (#5) para finalizar la programación y regresar a la modalidad de reproducción
normal.
7. Para verificar las pistas programadas, presione el botón PROG+10. (#11) de forma continua para mostrar
todas las canciones programadas. La pantalla LCD (#6) exhibirá el número programado primero, seguido por
el número de la pista encendido en forma intermitente.
8. Presione el botón REPRODUCIR/PAUSAR (#11) para comenzar la reproducción programada. La primera
pista programada aparecerá en la pantalla LCD (#6).
9. Para detener la reproducción programada, presione el botón DETENER (#5).
10. Mientras la unidad permanezca encendida y la tapa del compartimiento de CD (#7) no sea abierta, puede
reiniciar la reproducción programada en cualquier momento si presiona el botón PROG+10. (#4) y luego
REPRODUCIR/PAUSAR (#11) cuando se encuentre detenido.
RECEPCIÓN DE RADIO
1.Coloque el selector de banda (AM/FM/FM Estéreo) (#2) en la posición “RADIO”.
2.Ajuste el Selector de Banda (AM/FM/FM Estéreo) (#5) en “AM”, “FM”, o “FM Estéreo” para seleccionar la banda
deseada. Para recibir una estación FM débil (ruidosa), ajuste el selector de banda en la posición “FM”. La
recepción puede mejorar, pero el sonido será monoaural (MONO).
3.Ajuste la perilla de sintonización (#13) para obtener la estación de radio deseada.
4.Ajuste el control del volumen (#3) para obtener el nivel de volumen deseado.
5.Cuando desee apagar la radio, coloque el selector de función (#2) en la posición "OFF".
CONSEJOS PARA UNA BUENA RECEPCIÓN DE RADIO
1.Para asegurar una sensibilidad máxima del sintonizador FM, la antena telescópica (#8) debe ser extendida por
completo y girada para obtener la mejor recepción posible. El indicador FM Estéreo se iluminará de forma
estable cuando se reciba un programa estéreo.
2.Cuando sintonice una frecuencia AM, asegúrese de colocar la unidad en posición vertical. Para asegurar una
sensibilidad máxima AM, intente reposicionar la unidad hasta que obtenga la mejor señal posible.
FUNCIÓN DE ENTRADA AUXILIAR –AUX-IN
Este dispositivo posee la función de entrada de audio externo.
1. Conecte la fuente con el cable de audio (cable no incluido) a la ranura de ENTRADA AUXILIAR (AUX IN). La
unidad funcionara como parlante. La modalidad cambiará a AUX IN automáticamente.
2. Ajuste el control de volumen
3. Para salir de esta función, apague la unidad y desconecte el cable.

Observación: En esta modalidad, todos los botones serán inhabilitados excepto el de volumen. Debe desconectar
el cable de audio de la entrada, de esa forma podrá volver a reproducir CDs normalmente.
LEA ESTA INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE ANTES DE UTILIZAR LOS AUDIFONOS
1. Evite el uso prolongado a un volumen muy alto, ya que puede dañar el oído.
2. Si experimenta un zumbido en los oídos, reduzca el volumen o apague la unidad.

4. Mantenga el volumen a un nivel razonable, incluso si su audífono es del tipo abierto, diseñado para que pueda
