QUICK START
•Always turn the lava light“OFF”after playing to conserve battery life.
• Remove the clear portion of the lava light from the base before washing. Rinse with mild dish
soap and water only. DO NOT expose the lava light base to moisture of any kind. Air dry only.
• DO NOT wash doll’s hair with water and/or soap.
• DO NOT dry doll’s hair with a hair dryer or subject hair to very high heat in any manner as it will
irreparably damage the hair.
• This toy is to be used with water only when it is fully assembled in accordance with the instructions.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
NOTE: Before beginning, cover the play area to avoid possible water and oil damage. •Continue adding pieces of the effervescent tablet to do this experiment again and again!
•Try adding glitter in with the colored water to see what will happen! What else could you
add to make the experiment your own?
• Mix different food coloring drops to make your own color in a separate glass! Always make
sure the proportion is one cup of water for every one drop of food coloring.
TIPS
An adult must install fresh alkaline batteries in your lava light should the batteries need replacing.
Here’s how:
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver (not included) remove the screw battery compartment cover
from under the lava light.
2. Install three (3) 1.5V AG13 (LR44) alkaline batteries (not included) making sure the (+) and
(-) ends face the proper direction as indicated inside the battery compartment.
3. Replace the compartment cover and tighten the screw.

• Use alkaline batteries for best performance and longer life.
• Use only the type battery recommended for the unit.
• Batteries should be replaced only by an adult.
• Insert batteries with the correct polarity ( + and – ).
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable(nickel-cadmium) batteries.
• Do not short-circuit batteries.
• When not used for an extended time, remove batteries to prevent possible leakage
and damage to the unit.
• Do not mix rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before charging.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be recharged only under adult supervision.
• Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy.
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire as they may leak or explode.

1. FIll a glass with one cup of water
and add one drop of food coloring.

3. Add vegetable oil up to the top
measuring line.
4. Break one white effervescent tablet
into four equal pieces. Drop one
piece into the lava light.
2. Remove top of the lava light from the base.
Pour the colored water into the lava light up to
the third measuring line from the bottom. (If
using darker food coloring, pour less colored
water to achieve a better effect.)

5. Twist the cap onto the lava light and
reattach the top to the base.

unit to turn on the light. Watch as
colored bubbles float around!
