1. Press ON.
2. Hold the insturment so the sound source is
within 4-8 inches (100-200mm) of the
“MIC” hole on the front of tuner.
3. Play any note. The note being tuned will
show at the top of the CD meter.
4. While tuning, if the needle stops to the left of
“0” the pitch of the note is flat (). Adjust
instrument. Play note again. Repeat until the
meter needle lines up directly over the “0” on
the meter. The note is then in tune.
5. If the needle stops to the right of the “0” the
pitch of the note is sharp (#). Adjust instru-
ment. Play note again. Repeat until the meter
needle lines up directly over the “0” on the
meter.
6. The 3 ED’s will light as follows:
•RED The note is -1 to -50 cents
below correct pitch.
•GREEN The note is in tune.
•RED The note is +1 to +50 cents

If the ED lights, follow instructions in no.
5 above.
7. If the note is greater than -50 or +50 cents
from true pitch, adjust instrument until one of
the ED’s lights up.
8. The QWIK TUNE®is more sensitive and the
meter is faster acting than some other chro-
matic tuners. On some instruments the needle
on the CD meter may move rapidly from one
reading to another. If this happens, try playing
the note more lightly. Also, when tuning an
instrument, make sure there is no background
noise in the room (voices, other musical
instruments, radio, etc.)
9. When CD becomes faint, replace batteries
with 2 AAA batteries.
10. After 2 minutes of non use, QWIK TUNE®will
automatically shut off to save battery power.
11. The ELECTRONIC PITCH PIPE is activated
by the small button to the left of the ON/OFF
button. Press once and you will hear the C
tone. Press again for C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G,
G#, A, A# and B tones. Press again to turn off.
These tones can be used as a tuning reference
to tune severely out of tune instruments.
Enjoy your music!
