General information
Use and storage of the instruction manual
This instruction manual contains important information and must be read carefully before
use. Keep the manual in a safe place and if you pass this product on to any other person,
be sure to give that person this instruction manual.
Follow the instructions and safety warnings contained in this manual.
Failure to follow the safety warnings and instructions may result in damage to the
machine, serious injury or even death.
Scope of use
The multi sander is designed for sanding various materials on level or nearly level
surfaces in accordance with the instructions and safety warnings contained in this
manual and may not be used for any other purpose. The product is designed for DIY use
only and is not suitable for commercial applications.
The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for damage or injury caused by misuse of
the machine. Examples of misuse are given in the following non- exhaustive list:
- Use of the multi sander for any other than its intended purpose
- Use of sanding discs or other tools which are not suitable for the multi sander
- Non observance of the safety warnings or assembly and operating instructions
- Failure to follow the cleaning and maintenance instructions
- Use of the multi sander in modified form
- Commercial or otherwise excessive use
Anyone who operates the machine must be familiar with these instructions and must be
aware of the possible dangers. This product may only be used by a competent person –
in case of doubt seek training or advice from an expert. Any applicable health and safety
regulations must be followed.
Residual risk
A residual risk of injury remains even if the machine is used for its intended purpose in
accordance with the safety, assembly and operating instructions.
Due to the nature of the machine, the following dangers may arise:
- Contact with the sanding disc
- Contact with toxic saw dust which may be produced
Avoid any exposition to harmful/toxic dust arising from sanding. Always wear a mask of
protection during the use of the machine. Contact with or inhalation of these dusts can
endanger the health of operator and bystanders. Symbols

General safety instructions
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "power tool" in the
warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless)
power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence
of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions
can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do
not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs
and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool
will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging
the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for
outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual
current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric
shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may
result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection
used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position
connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have
the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench
or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables
better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection
facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can
reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The
correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool
that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the
power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing
power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool
accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are
caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Operational safety instructions for your Multi-Sander
CAUTION
Working safely with this machine is possible only after the operating manual and safety
instructions have been read completely and the instructions contained therein are strictly
followed.
Check the machine, the cable and the plug for damage each time you use the machine.
Any damage must be repaired by a qualified electrician.
Ensure that the machine is switched off before connecting the machine to the mains.
The machine must not be allowed to become damp and must not be used in a damp
environment.
The machine may only be used for dry sanding.

Protect yourself from the dangers that occur when sanding by wearing a dust mask and
protective goggles.
Always connect the dust extractor to the machine during operation.
Do not work on material containing asbestos.
When sanding metal be aware that the sparks produced can pose a risk of fire.
Because of the risk of fire, inflammable materials must be removed from the spark flight
zone and / or working area.
Empty the dust bag regularly whilst sanding and when you finish work.
Be very careful when disposing of dust as some materials can be explosive in dust form.
Never dispose of dust in a fire. Mixtures of dust particles and oil or water can ignite
spontaneously after a time.
Switch the machine off and allow the sanding plate to come to a complete stop before
putting the machine down.
Never allow children to use the machine.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
Always lead the mains cable away towards the rear of the machine.
Maintain a stable posture and always keep your balance when working.
Disconnect the unit from the mains before carrying out any type of maintenance or
adjustments.
Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose fitting clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose fitting clothing, jewellery or long hair
can become caught up in moving parts.
Harmful or toxic dust
Caution! Harmful or toxic dust may be produced when sanding lead painted surfaces,
woods or metal. Contact with, or inhalation of these dusts can endanger the health of the
operator or bystanders. Keep bystanders out of the area, wear an approved dust mask or
respirator suitable for the material being sanded and connect the machine to a dust
extraction device. If in doubt consult an expert.

USE
Mains voltage
Ensure that the local mains voltage is in conformity with the information on the rating
label. The machine is designed for use with single phase alternating current 230 V˜ / 50
Hz and is double-insulated. Make certain that the rated voltage stated on the machine’s
type plate matches the local mains voltage before using the machine. If the work area is
not close to the mains outlet, an extension cable with a sufficient conductor cross
sectional area (min. 1.5 mm²) must be used. The extension cable used should be as
short as possible. Always ensure that any extension cord used is fully unwound to avoid
a risk of overheating.
Fitting / changing sanding plates
Caution! Disconnect the unit from the mains before carrying out any maintenance or
adjustments.
The multi sander is supplied with 2 interchangeable sanding plates:
- Triangle sanding plate.
- Finger sanding plate.
Remove the fitted sanding plate by removing the mounting screw by using a screwdriver.
Fit the required sanding plate/attachment to the base of the machine.
Secure the sanding plate/ attachment by replacing and tightening the mounting screw.

Fitting sanding sheets
Before, check the sanding plate and remove any debris on it if any.
Stick the sanding paper on the sanding plate. The sanding paper must fit the surface of
the sanding plate and may not overlap. The holes in the sanding paper must line up with
the holes in the sanding plate in order for the dust extraction to function properly.
Never use the sander without a sanding sheet or another consumable fitted.
When using the triangle sanding plate, stick on it the triangle sanding paper by following
the same process as described above.
Using the machine
Switching ON / OFF
Press the ‘I’ button to turn the machine ON.
Press the ‘O’ button to turn the machine OFF.

Caution: Wear safety goggles, ear protection and a dust mask when using the machine.
Always keep a firm grip on the tool. Use both hands. Keep your fingers away from the
sanding plate/attachment.
Switch the machine ON and wait until the machine has reached its full no load speed
before engaging with the workpiece.
Apply the sanding plate/attachment gently to the workpiece. Exerting excessive pressure
does not improve sanding performance and can lead to a shortened disc life and
increased wear to the tool.
NOTE: Excessive pressure does not increase sanding performance!
Dust extraction
The multi sander can either be connected to the dust collector (supplied) or to an
external dust extraction device or vacuum cleaner.
Dust collector
Proceed as follows to fit the dust collector to the machine:
Insert the dust collector (A) into the slots in the dust extraction outlet (B) as shown.
Pull the dust collector to remove it from the machine.

Changing / emptying the collection bag
Remove the dust collector from the machine as described above. Remove the black
cover (C) from the dust collector.
Empty the dust collector and clean using compressed air. The dust collector can also be
washed but must be dried thoroughly before being re-used.
Do not use the dust collector when sanding metal. The hot metal particles could cause
any residual dust or the dust collector itself to catch fire.
Note: Empty the dust collector regularly and after each use.
Tips and instructions
When sanding, it is important to start with a coarse sanding disc and to progress using
finer sanding discs. If the sanding disc used is too coarse the surface finish will not be
smooth, and could even become rougher. If the sanding disc used is too fine, poor
results will be achieved.
When possible during sanding keep the sanding plate/attachment parallel with the
surface of the workpiece. Do not exert excessive pressure on the multi sander. Sanding
discs which are covered in dust or residue produce poor results.
Excessive pressure does not increase sanding performance!
Use the right abrasive for your application. Bear in mind the properties of the workpiece
and the result you wish to achieve.
Sanding performance is determined largely by the choice of abrasive and properties of
the material surface.

Maintenance and cleaning
Care
Clean the machine each time you use it. Pay particular attention to the area around the
ventilation slots and ensure that these are free of wood dust to prevent the risk of the
motor overheating.
For this reason we recommend that you clean the multi sander with compressed air each
time you use it.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents such as petrol or alcohol as these can damage
the plastic parts of the machine.
Maintenance
The machine requires very little maintenance. Pay particular attention to the mains cable.
Mains cables may only be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service center or
a qualified electrician.

Warning:
It is necessary to identify measures to protect the operator that are based on an
estimation of exposure in the actual conditions of use (taking into account of all parts of
the operating cycle such as the times when the tool is switched off and when it is running
idle in addition to the trigger time.)
Take steps to reduce your vibration exposure risk:
Use the tool only as described in this manual
Only use suitable sanding belts and accessories and ensure that these are in good
condition and are suitable for the type of work carried out
Keep the tool well maintained and in good condition
If this tool is used on a regular basis wear anti-vibration gloves
Recycling
This symbol indicates that this product may not be disposed of together with domestic
waste in compliance with the (2012/19/EU) Regulation pertaining to waste electrical and
electronic devices (WEEE). This product must be handed in at a collection point intended
for the purpose. This can occur, for example, by handing it in at an authorized collecting
