INTRODUCTION
Your Radio Shack Stereo Tape Control Center lets you
easily record from one tape deck to one or more other
decks without the hassle of reconnecting cords each
time.
You can also record from your receiver/amplifier to one
or more cassette decks, and add an equalizer for even
more control.
The control center gives you all this flexibility without
requiring an additional AC outlet.

Notes:
• Always use shielded audio cables with phono plugs
at each end for all input and output connections.
• Be sure to connect left to left, and right to right.
CONNECTING CASSETTE DECKS
To record from one deck, connect the control center’s
DECK 1 IN jacks to your deck’s output jacks. Then
connect the DECK 1 OUT jacks to your deck’s input
jacks.
To record from a second deck, also connect the control
center’s DECK 2 IN jacks to your deck’s output jacks.
Then connect the DECK 2 OUT jacks to your deck’s
input jacks.
To record from a third deck, also connect the control
center’s DECK 3 IN jacks to your deck’s output jacks.
Then connect the DECK 3 OUT jacks to your deck’s
input jacks.
CONNECTING OPTIONAL
COMPONENTS
If you want to record from your amplifier/receiver, con-
nect the control center’s Land R SOURCE IN jacks to
your amplifier/receiver’s output jacks (labeled TAPE
OUT, MONITOR OUT, PREAMP OUT, or MAIN OUT).
Then connect the Land R MONITOR OUT jacks to
your amplifier/receiver’s input jacks (labeled TAPE IN,
MONITOR IN, or MAIN IN).
Note: If your amplifier/receiver has a tape monitor
switch, set the switch to the MONITOR or IN position.
You can connect an equalizer to the system, instead of
a third deck. Connect the control center’s DECK 3 IN
jacks to the equalizer’s output jacks. Then connect the
DECK 3 OUT jacks to the equalizer’s input jacks.

OPERATION
SETTING THE RECORDING
SELECTOR
Each RECORDING selector represents one of the
three decks you can record on. To select the source
you want to record from, set DECK 1, DECK 2, or
DECK 3’s RECORDING selector to the desired deck or
to SOURCE to record from a connected amplifier/
receiver.
SETTING THE MONITOR SELECTOR
The MONITOR selector lets you choose which source
you want to listen to while you record. To select the
source, set MONITOR to the desired deck or to
SOURCE
if you want to monitor a connected amplifier/
receiver.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
Your Radio Shack Stereo Tape Control Center is an
example of superior design and craftsmanship. These
suggestions will help you care for the control center so
you can enjoy it for years.
• Keep the control center dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry
immediately. Liquids can contain minerals that cor-
rode electronic circuits.
• Use and store the control center only in normal tem-
perature environments. Temperature extremes can
shorten the life of electronic devices and distort or
melt plastic parts.
• Handle the control center gently and carefully. Drop-
ping it can damage circuit boards and cases and
can cause the control center to work improperly.
• Keep the control center away from dust and dirt,
which can cause premature wear of parts.
• Wipe the control center with a damp cloth occasion-
ally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemi-
cals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents.
Modifying or tampering with the control center’s com-
ponents can cause a malfunction and might invalidate
its warranty. If the control center is not performing as it
should, take it to your local Radio Shack store for
assistance.
