1 Introduction
The RayPilot 650 is SeaTalk™compatible, allowing it to share
informationwithotherSeaTalkinstruments.Thisbecomesusefulfor
someautomaticadjustmentsmade by the autopilot. For example,
whentheRayPilotisconnected to a speedinstrument, the speed gain
link allows the RayPilot to adjust the amount of rudder applied
according tothe speed ofthe boat.
When connected to a SeaTalk navigation aid or chart plotter via its
built-in interface, the RayPilot 650 will track to your waypoint with
amazing accuracy.
The RayPilot 650 system can be expanded andenhanced with a
selection of options andaccessories available from yourRaymarine
dealer. These include: further full function stations, a hand-held
controlunit,a joystickpowersteeringlever oranauxiliaryalarm.
SeaTalk and NMEA compatibility
The RayPilot 650control unit is SeaTalk compatible, so it canshare
datatransmittedfromotherRaymarine SeaTalk instruments:
•wind information from awind instrument can beused for
wind vane steering without the need to install a separate vane
•trackinformation,fromanavigator,canprovidewaypointcontrol
fromtheautopilot
•boat speed from aspeed instrument can provide optimumtrack
keepingperformance
•SeaTalkcompatibilityalsoallowsadditionalfixedandhand-held
autopilot control unitsto be easilyconnected at secondary
steeringand control positions
If the RayPilot 650 is used as partof a course computer system, you
can connect NMEA 0183 transmitting equipmentto the ports on the
course computer. With an optional SeaTalk/NMEA interface (part
number: E85001), you can also connect NMEA 0183 equipmentto
the SeaTalk ports on the RayPilot 650.

industrystandards for use in the recreational marine environment.
