1. Select
the channel
you wish to program.
Press
Scanning
Switch
momentarily
to MANUAL position
to advance
Scanner
to next
channel;
repeat
until
desired
channelis
reached.
2. Press
PROGRAM
button.
Program
LED
will light
up.
3. Using
the calculator-type
keyboard,
enter
desired
frequency
(in
thiscase162.55).

MONITOR

hear
the station.
lf nothing
is
heard,

Clear and repeat

lf you don't need
to check
the frequency,

SCANNING
lf you
want
your
Scanner
to continuouslyscan
thechannelsforwhich
you havefrequencies
programmed,you must adjust
SOUELCHas
instructed
above,thenset
theScanningSwitch
to theAUTO position.
The PRO-2001
will constantly
scaneachchannelinsequence;whena
signalappears
on oneof thechannels,
the Receiverwill lock
ontothat
channel
and
you will hear
thesignal.
Frequency
beingmonitoredwill
bedisplayed
inseven-digit
LED
display.
lf you do notwantautomaticscanning
ononeor more
channels,
press
theirChannelSwitchButtons
"off" (press
in to release
thebutton
so
itpops
out).
lf you want to stay tuned to one channel
only, setthe Scanning
Switch to the center position (stops scanning)
and then press
momentarily
to the MANUAL position
to advance
to the channel
you
want
to listento (as
indicated
byaChannelLED).
For Manualscanning,
the Receiver
can be either "squelched"
or
"unsquelched";
for Automatic
scanning,SOUELCHmust be setto
eliminatethebackground
noise.
To eliminate
the annoyingbackgroundnoise,rotate SOUELCH
clockwise
until the backgroundnoise
just stops.You can't adjust
SOUELCH
properly
while
listening
to a station,sowait till signals
cease.
lf you set
SOUELCH
asnoted
above,the Receiverwill appear
"dead" until a signalcomes
in;whena signal
comes
in,
theSquelch
circuit
"opens
up" and
you hear
the
signal.Whenthesignalceases,the
Squelch
circuit
"closes"
andcutsout allsounduntilthe nextsiqnal
comesin.
The PR0-2001hasa switchable
Scan
DELAY which virtuallyeli-
minatesmissedreplies.
The circuit "waits" on the channel
you are
monitoring
for two secondsaftera messagehasended;if no further
messageis received
by then,scanning
isresumed.DELAY functions
inAUTO scanning
mode
andSearch
mode
(see
Page
9).
