When using this appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including
the following:

you turn a steam generator upside down as there may be hot water in the reservoir.

pressure could result in burns. Only unscrew the cap when generator is cool or there is
no more pressure in the boiler. (No steam when the steam button is pressed)
15.Always use your cap remover to unscrew the safety cap.

16.Always release all steam from boiler by holding down steam button.
17.Before operating this appliance be sure that the boiler screw cap is in place. An incor-
rectly or missing screw cap could easily allow the steam to emit and lead to scalding.
18.The iron must be used on a stable surface and always put down on a stable, level sur-
face so that it cannot fall down.
19.Put the iron in a vertical position if not on an ironing board holder, or heat resistant mat
and wait for the soleplate to cool down completely before cleaning it.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15 amperage cord should be used.
Cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the
cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over unintentionally. To avoid a circuit
overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit.

1. Water
The Eurosteam® Iron is designed to use regular tap water. Never use 100% distilled water
as this may lead to damage inside the boiler.
About Softened Water and Well Water
Many types of water contain naturally high levels of sodium, iron, mineral and organic mat-
ter. If these collect inside the boiler it can eventually appear as brown stains or can cause
\RXU(XURVWHDPWRVSLWGXULQJXVH,I\RXH[SHULHQFHWKLVW\SHRISUREOHP\RXVKRXOGWU\
XVLQJLQH[SHQVLYHERWWOHGVSULQJZDWHU
Never use water that has any additives such as starch, perfume or fabric conditioner. The
additives can affect the boiler, at high temperatures deposits can form and emit stains and
cause blockage of the steam vents.
2. Filling internal Water/Boiler Tank
FillwatertankwhiletheEurosteam®isunpluggedandcool.Placeyourirononastablesur-

boiler. Place safety cap in position and tightened, by turning until it stops and then tighten
slightlywithoutapplying too much pressuretoavoid breaking theO-ring.Plug the unit intoa
power surge bar. Put the iron in a vertical position, if not on an ironing board iron holder or
heat resistant mat and wait for the indicator light to shut off.

At the end of every use be sure to drain the boiler by letting all steam out. Hold down the
steam button and wait until steaming has stopped, unplug and wait for unit to cool. Remove
safety cap using the provided cap remover and hold upside down to drain any remaining
water. Store in a safe place with safety cap off, allowing the boiler to breathe.
USING YOUR EUROSTEAM®
Water in your boiler? This is normal as each Eurosteam® Stone Glide is
factory tested for quality purposes.

your boiler tank. Screw on your safety cap with your cap remover. Plug unit in, and wait for
ready light to turn off. Direct the iron in a safe direction, then hold down the steam button
and continue holding the steam button to allow the full tank of steam to run out of iron. When
completed let unit cool completely.

3. On and Off
To turn on your Eurosteam® iron, place the iron in a vertical position, if not placing on an
ironing board iron holder, or heat resistant mat.Always ensure the iron is on a stable surfa-
ce, and plug into a power surge protection bar. The indicator light will switch on. When the
indicatorlight turnsoffthe Eurosteam® is ready for use. The indicator light will go on and off
through out the ironing session, it indicates that the boiler is constantly heating and pressu-

To turn off, carefully grasp plug and remove from power surge protection bar. Allow iron to

or a heat resistant mat, until completely cool. Remove safety cap and drain remaining water
from boiler tank. Store iron in a safe place with safety cap off.
4. Filling the Tank while using the Iron
,I\RXQHHGWR¿OOWKHERLOHUGXULQJDQLURQLQJVHVVLRQUHPRYHWKHSOXJIURPWKHSRZHUVXUJH
protection bar and fully depress the steam button to let out all residual steam. Slowly un-
screw the safety cap, this is made easier with the use of the cap remover. Drain remaining
water from boiler tank. Use caution as water may still be hot. SLOWLY pour a small amount
of water into the tank with the measuring cup, 2-3 times, and allow the steam to come out

*IMPORTANT*
NEVER unscrew the safety cap while the Eurosteam®iron is producing steam
and the boiler is under pressure. This could lead to burning and or scalding.
*For best ironing results use a mesh-type ironing board to allow
excess steam to escape.
*Always rest your Eurosteam®iron on stable surface.
*Do not let soleplate contact anything that could scratch or
damage the soleplate, such as zippers or metal studs.

5. Cleaning
We recommend that the following cleaning instructions be carried out
every 2-3 months or if you notice any water drops leaking out of the
soleplate of the Eurosteam®iron.
Soleplate
Beforecleaningtheironbesurethattheunitisdisconnectedfromthepowersupplyandthat
the iron is completely cooled down. Do not use abrasives on the soleplate. Deposits and
other residues on the soleplate can be removed with a cloth soaked in a vinegar and water
solution. Keep the soleplate smooth by avoiding contact with hard or abrasive surfaces.
Boiler Tank
)RUDTXLFNFOHDQLQJ)LOOWKHLURQZLWKZDWHUXVLQJ\RXUPHDVXUHFXSWRMXVWEHORZWKHPD[
line. Place the safety cap on and tighten till closed, plug the unit into a power surge protec-
tionbar and allowtheunit to heatup. When theindicatorlight shuts off,unplug theunit from
the power source and let sit for 10 minutes. Shake vigorously in all directions and allow to
cool for 10 minutes more. Unscrew safety cap and empty contents into a sink; holding the
unit away from you. Use caution as water may still be hot. You should see mineral deposits

solution. Place safety cap on tightly, and plug into a power surge protection bar. Let unit
heat up until indicator light goes off. Unplug from power source, let sit for 10 minutes and
then shake vigorously. Let cool for another 10 minutes, depress and hold down the steam
button until no more steam comes out. Unscrew safety cap and empty tank contents. This
may need to be done several times depending on how long since the last cleaning and the
type of water used. To complete, rinse tank with clear water until vinegar odour dissipates.

Why is my iron leaking water?

Why does my iron run out of steam quickly?
We do suggest to use your steam button only on demand. Two seconds of depressing the
EXWWRQSURGXFHVIRXUWRHLJKWJRRGVHFRQGVRIVWHDPSURMHFWLRQV%\SUHVVLQJWKLV
button intermittently (once every 5-10 seconds) this will allow you a good amount of steam.
Once you have mastered this, you will never go back to any other iron!
How do I clean my iron?

Why does the indicator light come on while the iron is in use?
When the water inside the boiler begins to cool, the indicator light will come on indicating
that the iron is heating. Once the water in the boiler reaches the optimal temperature, the
indicator light will shut off. It is very normal to see it repeating itself. Especially if you are

Why does my iron loose pressure while steaming?
As you use the steam button, the pressure within the boiler is decreasing. You may notice
your iron slightly losing pressure when you are priming the boiler. Or if the indicator light
has come on, you may choose to allow your iron to rebuild the pressure until the indicator
light goes off.
Why is my iron heating, but not producing any steam?
*Ensure that there is water inside the boiler
*Your iron may need to be cleaned. See page 7 section 5 for cleaning instructions
Why is steam leaking from the screw cap when I turn my iron on?
*O-ring may need to be replaced. Remove O-ring from base of safety cap and replace with
O-ring provided.
*The screw cap may not be on tight enough
*Whenthe iron isleft on noncontinuous steam modewithout releasing thesteam button re-
gularlyafterindicator lamp shutsoffforprolongedperiods of time(10minutes or longer)the
iron’s built in safety feature will release the steam through the screw plug. We encourage
quilters and sewers to please press the steam button every 10 minutes or so when
not in use, this will ensure the iron to be ready when you are.
Why is my handle getting hot?
Your Eurosteam® Stone Glide handle will get fairly warm, however it should never become
too hot to hold. Your iron’s handle may feel warm due long periods of on with no use or
steam leaking from the safety cap (see above).
If none of the above correct the problem please do not use your iron and contact
