Remove all items from the packing tube. You should have the following before beginning:

A. Open and prop your hood.
B. Standing on the driver’s side in the middle of the engine compartment, examine the area on the inner fender lip.
Note the overhanging fender mounting bolt. The centerline of this bolt should be used to align the ball-stud
mounting bracket (offset 3/8”to the left or front of the vehicle). Back of bracket up against lip.
C. Place the bracket on the flat surface aligning either the left edge of the bracket with the metal shown below, or
using the measurement shown to the right (centerlines offset by 3/8”).
Step 1 - Unpack QuickLIFT system and verify contents.
Step 2 - Gather the required tools.
Step 3 - Mark centerline of fender bracket location.

A. Carefully drill the hole as shown to the right using a
(#11 indexed bit)or (use 3/16" bit if #11 bit is not available).
If you do not have a #11 indexed bit, you can use the 3/16" bit, however you
may have to test fit the rivet and slightly ream hole until rivet fits tightly
through bracket and hole - 3/16" is slighty smaller than the #11 bit.
Wrap a piece of electrical tape around the drill bit about 1/4" from the tip
to prevent the bit passing to deeply. Use new and sharp bits!
A. Verifying the measurement from Step 3, centerline of
bracket should be 3/8”to left of the fender bolt. You will
need to view the mounting location directly from the top as
shown in Figure 4A. The bracket should sit with the left
edge aligned with the metal lip shown in the photo and the
ball-stud pointing inward toward the engine.
B. Holding bracket in place, mark the center of the right hole
using a permanent felt tip marker.
C. Set bracket aside. Using a center punch and a hammer,
tap the center of the mark you just made (Figure 4B).
Step 4 - Align bracket and mark hole for drilling.
Step 5 - Drill #11 indexed bit hole, or 3/16" hole.
Step 6 - Rivet end of bracket.

Riveting Tips: Visit http://www.redlinetuning.com/QL-tips.html
A. Reposition or rotate bracket into the
proper position. Carefully drill the
second hole through bracket hole and
fender.
Step 7 - Drill and rivet hole
A. Hold the bracket in position.
B. With the bracket lined up again, place the rivet through
the bracket and hole with the long stem sticking outward -
shown to the right. The rivet may require a few twists while
pushing it in.
C. Check to be sure your rivet gun has the 3/16" rivet head installed, then slide rivet gun onto rivet. While applying
downward force on rivet and bracket, firmly squeeze riveter handle multiple times until rivet gun pops and snaps off the
rivet stem.

A. Drill the hole at the marked position using a sharp
5/16" drill bit.
Tip: First drilling a smaller pilot hole will make the final
5/16" hole much easier to drill.
Step 10 - Drill hole using 5/16" drill bit.
B. Using a center punch, tap the center of the mark you
just made - this will help guide the drill bit in Step 10.
A. Using a color matching paint, touch
up the area where you just drilled the
hole.
B. Place one washer onto ball-stud
shaft, then insert into hole. Ball-stud
should point inward or toward the
engine with the lock nut on outside.
Place the lock-nut onto the ball-stud
shaft . Tighten using 1/2" wrenches or a
deep well 1/2" socket on ball-stud and
a wrench on the locking nut.
Step 11 - Attach the ball-stud to the hood hinge.

A. Repeat Steps 9-11 to attach the passenger side ball-stud. The vehicle is symmetrical so the same locators can be
used to make both sides the same.
Step 12 - Repeat steps 9-11 to attach the passenger side hood ball-stud.
A. CYCLE EACH GAS SPRING BEFORE INSTALLING -
firmly hold a gas spring with both hands by the
thick cylindrical end - firmly press down on the floor
or carpet and compress the spring. Compress both
springs. Have a friend hold the hood up.
Compress each gas spring a few times - Note: If you
unable to compress the gas springs, do not worry.
Normal function after installation will also serve the
same purpose.
Step 13 - Cycle both gas springs a few times.
Step 14 - Install gas springs.
Step 15 - Insert gas spring locking clips into ball-stud sockets
A. Holding curved end of locking clip, slide the straight end back through
both holes in the hood’s ball-stud socket. Once securely through both
holes, rotate clip to ‘snap’ the locking clip onto shaft.
A. Securely snap on each end of the gas spring. Install the locking clips in the next step. Large
housing end of gas spring attaches to the hood’s ball-stud.
