Toavoidshort-circuitingthespeakers
•Makesurethestrippedendofeachspeakerwiredoesnot
touch anotherspeakerterminalorthe stripped end of
anotherspeaker wire.
NOTE:
Besuretomatch the speaker wiretothe appropriateterminal on
the back ofthemainset: (+)to(+)(color), and (-)to(-)(black). If the
wires arereversed, the sound will be distorted and will lack some
tones.Followthe color codes ofeach terminals.
•Strippedwires aretouchingeachotherdue toexcessive
removalof insulation.Donot allowthe abovetohappenon
yourset.
Tipsforconnecting thespeakerwires
Unwind and stretch outthe speakerwires attached witheach
speakers, then push and holddownthe speakerterminal tab on
the back ofthe mainsettoinsert each wire. Make surethe wireis
fullyinserted,butthe insulation isnotcovering the inserted part of
the speakerwires.

Your systemissupplied with5compactsizedsatellitespeakersand
one large subwoofer(mainset).The satellitespeakersandthe center
speakerreproduceonlythe midrange and higherfrequencies. Allof
the lowfrequency(bass) soundsareproduced by thesubwoofer.Proper
positioning andplacementofthe speakersisimportantinordertoprovide
the best surroundsoundexperience.Weunderstandthatdue tothe
size and shape ofyourlistening room,and the location ofyourfurniture,
youmaynotbeabletosetup thespeakersexactlyasperthese
diagrams.Howeverthesesimpleguidelineswill helpyoumaximize
yourhometheater experience.
•Notethe speakerlevelsarepresetatthefactoryandmostpeoplewill
notneed tofine tune the sound ofeach speaker.Wesuggestyou skip
thispart atfirst. Lateron you can adjustthe sound levelofeach
individualspeaker.SeePage22.
•Although all 5satellites areofthesamesize, the speakersinsidethe
cabinetsaredifferent. The speakerwires on the back ofthe cabinets
arecolor-coded,as arethe speakerterminalson the back ofthe main
unit.Refer totheconnection diagramonpage 8. Besureyouare

anyofthesatellitespeakerson the floor.Many peopleprefer
toplace the centerspeakerhorizontallyabove the TV set.
•The left rear and right rearspeakerscan be placed inline
withyourlistening position orbehindyourlistening position.
Ideallythey shouldbe placed slightlyabove yourear level
when you areseated inyour normallistening position.
•Wehave provided one keyholeopening on the backs ofall
the satellitespeakersthatallowthe satellitespeakerstobe
wall mounted inavertical position.
•The subwoofer will provide the mostdramaticbass effects
(lowfrequencysoundslike explosionsand thunder) when it
isplaced on the floor.Donotplace the subwooferon a
stand ortable.The subwoofer shouldbe placed inthe front
oftheroomso thatitisfacing towardsyourlistening position.
It can be placed on eitherside ofthe TV oreven inthe
cornerof the room,as faraway as the cablewill allow.The
bass sounds fromthe subwoofer arenon-directional. You
