RETROPIE INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Thank you for supporng the RetroPie, the Internet’s most advanced
video entertainment system, featuring old school sound and nostalgic
graphics! The RetroPie Entertainment System includes a Control Deck,
2 high-tech controllers, and an AC adapter.

Please read the setup instrucons and the Consumer Informaon and
Precauons Booklet before aempng to connect the RetroPie Con-
trol Deck to your TV set. If aer reading all setup instrucons, you are
sll unable to hook up your system, please consult the RetroPie forum
at the url listed above.

ADDING ROMS
(1) Ensure that your USB is formaed to FAT32.
(2) Create a folder called retropie on your USB drive.
(3) Plug the USB into the Control Deck and wait for it to nish
blinking.
(4) Pull the USB drive out and plug it into a computer.
(5) Add the roms to their respecve folders (in the retropie/
roms folder).
(6) Plug it back into the Control Deck.
(7) Wait for it to nish blinking.
(8) Refresh emulaonstaon by choosing quit from the start
menu and selecng Restart Emulaon Staon.
SCRAPING ROMS
(1) Press the Start buon on your controller.
(2) Choose Scraper from the menu.
(3) Select Scrape now.
(4) Choose your desired lter, systems, and conict resoluon.
(5) Select Start.
NOTE: The amount of me scraping takes will depend on choices
made and number of ROMs being scraped. An internet connecon
is required for this process.
CONNECTION & INSTALLATION
Connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your Control Deck
and to the HDMI port on your TV Set.
Connect the SNES USB cable to a USB port on the Control Deck.
Connect the AC plug to the power input jack on the Control
Deck, plug the AC adapter into a standard (110/120 volt AC)
wall outlet.
Oponal:
Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the Control
Deck, plug the Ethernet cable into your router.
Connect a Keyboard and/or Mouse to the Control Deck.
CONFIGURING WIFI
(1) A keyboard will be needed for this operaon.
(2) Select Retropie from the console menu.
(3) Navigate to Wi using the D-Pad and select with the A
buon.
(4) Select Connect to Wi Network with the keyboard.
(5) Choose the SSID you want to connect to.
(6) Enter wi password using the keyboard and select ok.
(7) Select cancel with the keyboard to exit back to the Retropie
console menu.

RETROPIE OPERATION

(1) Turn your television on.
(2) Set your TV to the HDMI source.
(3) Plug in AC adapter to Control Deck and wall outlet.
Make sure the red power indicator light and the green ac-
vity light on the front of the Control Deck are on (check
the AC adaptor and plug if not).
(4) Use the D-pad on controller #1 to nd the console you
want, then press the A buon to select it .
(5) Use the D-pad on controller #1 to navigate the game list
and the A buon to select a game you want to play. Use
the B buon to return to the console list.
EXITING GAMES
(1) Save your game before exing.
(2) Press the Select buon and the Start buon simultaneously
on controller #1.

Press the Escape key on an aached keyboard.
CONFIGURING NEW CONTROLLERS
RETURNING TO REGULAR TV
Aer you have nished playing, press the start buon on the
console or game list menu. Navigate to Quit and select Shut-
down System. Select Yes when asked if you really want to shut-
down. Wait for the system to shutdown and conrm by check-
ing to make sure the green acvity light on the front of the
Control Deck is o. Remove the AC adapter from the power in-
put on the Control Deck. Turn your TV selector to the desired
channel to view regular TV programs.
NOTE: This process is necessary to keep the operang system
from being corrupted due to sudden power loss.
(1) Insert the new controller’s USB into an empty port
on the Control Deck.
(2) Hit the Start buon on an already congured con-
troller and select Congure input in the menu.
(3) Follow the prompts on the new controller. If you do
not have a buon to correlate, hold down any
buon unl it dismisses the current prompt.
(4) Hit OK.
