A Revox Home Cinema system st ands out
through its timeless design, its crystal-clear
pictures, it s perfectly balanced sound and its
ease of operation. At the centre of the Home
Cinema system, stands the Re:ception plasma
42 HD. With its high-resolution panel, the 42”
plasma television delivers an awesome picture
qualit y that compares more than favourably
with the competition.
With its range of interfaces, the Re: ception
plasma 42 HD can be fully integrated into the
operating concept of the Re:system M51.
Through the combination of these t wo Revox
components, a matrix determines which input
should be used to s witch the plasma television
on automatically for a particular source. Just
imagine. You want to watch a DVD and, with the
press of just one button, you can activate all the
necessary components. Sit back, relax and
enjoy the film!
With t he Re:ception plasma 42, a sophisticated
design is combined with the use of high-quality
materials. The filtered glass screen with its black
surround that embodies a significant element of
the design concept, seems to float in front of the
unit. T he intricate shaping of the edge of the
glass, adds the finishing touch to its design.
The Re :ception plasma 42 HD is held securely in
place with brackets made from solid aluminium.
The lines of these brackets are continued
through with the optional pedestal stand. And a
further design highlight of the unit is the Revox
logo that is elegantly etched into the housing.
The operating keys are integrated into the
elliptic al IR receiver, allowing you to control the
unit without using a remote control, if you want
to.
The heart of the Re:ception plasma 42 HD, is the
high-resolution, 16:9 wide-screen panel with
1024 x 768 pixels at a 42” diagonal and is one of
the ways in which the Revox plasma fulfils all
the requirements of t he “HD ready” standard.
The already very impressive contrast ratio of
10000:1 is further subjectively amplified by the
black frame, guaranteeing a totally unique pictu-
re experience.
A double, integrated tuner enables true picture-
in-picture. As well as the two tuner s, the
Re:ception plasma 42 HD also has a DVI-I inpu t,
which can be used for HDMI with an adapter,
two SCART input s (RGB, CVBS) , one component
(YU V) or video input as well as an S-video input.
The remarkable range of connection options
that the Re: ception plasma 42 HD has to offer is
completed by three audio inputs, one audio out-
put and an RS232 interface.
Technology
Material
As with all Revox products, only the finest
materials are used with the Re :ception plasma
42 HD.
The lacquered brackets, made from a single
piece of extruded aluminium, are certainly the
most conspicuous component of the Revox
plasma televisions. Whether wall-mounted or
sitting on the optional pedestal stand, these
brackets give the ef fect of two hands,
powerfully yet gently holding the unit in place.
As well as giving the Re: ception plasma 42 HD a
brilliant picture, the high-quality filter, made
from specially coated safety glass, also gives
the unit an optical lightness.
The frame, with its special powder coating is
similarly made of a single aluminium profile.
Thanks to the special characteris tics of the
profile, the glass filter seems to float in front of
the unit.
The class of the total product is underlined by
the logo that is both etched into the optional 6
mm steel pedestal stand and the upper bracket.

The Re :ception plasma 42 HD’s double tuner
offers more useful functions. So for instance, if
the actual program is interrupted in PIP mode, the
original channel continues to be monitored, in
order not to miss anything when the movie
resumes. At the same time, you can zap through
other channels in the other screen.
In split-screen mode, this allows you to read
Teletext, while following the program visually at
the same time.
A particular feature is that you can scan through
16 channels in small screens around the main
picture. These small images give an overview
about which programs are currently running on
other channels so that no impor tant infor mation
need ever pass you by again.
The Re :ception plasma 42 HD also has a DVI-I
input, which can be used to feed video signals
digitally into the plasma.
Video sources with an HDMI output can also be
connected directly using the supplied HDMI/DVI-I
adapter.
The integrated scaler displays all popular pic ture
formats cur rently, whether T V, DVD, PC or a high-
resolution format through YUV or DVI-I.
Optional
Re:ception Pedestal Stand
The Re :ception plasma 42 HD is delivered with integrated wall-mounting.
If you want to st and it on a piece of furniture, an optional pedestal stand is needed.
The pedestal stand is made from 6 mm steel and has been designed to fit perfectly
into the overall design of the plasma television. T he line of the brackets is continued
through into the stand, so that with this option, the unit delivers a highly attrac tive,
consistent design experience.
Just like the brackets, the pedestal stand has an etched Revox logo as well as a
special powder coating, to complete the unity of design.
Re:control M208
A handy remote control is supplied wit h the Re :ception plasma 42 HD, which
can access all functions simply.
The optional Re:control M20 8 is a universal remote control for the complete
Revox range. Operational procedures are logically programmed, so that as a
rule, the Revox products can be controlled with the press of a single button.
All other current Revox products are integrated, as well as the Re:ception
plasma 42 HD.
As well as providing status information, the display additionally of fers the
option to retrospectively integrate func tions that may be needed by future
applications. You can also easily control the Re:source M37 audio ser ver
based on play lists, albums, genre or artist, using the Re :control M208.

A particular strength of Revox products is
that they communicate with each other
over a bus. This enables logical
operational procedures to be executed
with the press of a single button.
If required, the Re: ception plasma 42 HD
can be connected to the Re:system M51
source management using the Re:connect
M200 domotic interface.
All the different audio and video sources
are then integrated into a matrix, so that
the right picture is always combined with
the right sound, simply and reliably. For
example, pressing the DVD button on the
remote control, starts the DVD player,
switches the amplifier to the DVD input
and at the same time, switches the
plasma unit onto the cor rect input. And
just to complete the whole thing, the
television is only switched on when there
is actually a DVD in the drive. With an
audio CD of course, only the sound is
produced. The screen remains switched
off.
You can define a configuration for each
source to specify w hether the screen
should be switched on or not. In this way,
you make the decision as to whether the
corresponding OSD should be shown for
example, when the Revox Audio Server is
accessed.
