Operating Instructions
Ring Cut
1. Before ringing a cable, use the adjustment knob to adjust the depth of the blade. Rotate towards
the "+" sign to increase the blade depth, or rotate towards the "-" sign to decrease blade depth.
2. Once depth is determined, squeeze the handles of the tool together, insert the cable into the
proper ringing notch of the jaws (1.2mm - 3.2mm or 3.2mm - 6.4mm) and release the handles to
close the jaws.
3. With the cable inserted and jaws of the tool closed, rotate the tool 3-5 times until the jacket is cut.
4. Make a second ring cut if doing a midspan cut. Proceed to a longitudinal cut.
Longitudinal Cuts
1. Before slitting a cable, first select the appropriate V groove in the removeable block. To do this,
simply pull on the yellow pull tab sticking out of the V block, flip it upside down, and reinsert it into the
tool in the same direction. Note: Use the small V groove for cables <3.2 mm, and the larger groove
for cables >3.2 mm diameter.
2. Next, adjust the depth of the blade by loosening the screw (using a small screwdriver) and moving
the blade via the black pin of the blade.
3. Once depth is determined, insert the cable into the V block by squeezing the handles together to
open the jaws of the tool.
4. Close the jaws by releasing the handles, and while applying pressure to the jaws of the tool, slide
the tool along the cable to slit it. Slide the tool in the direction of the pull tab. Align the tool upside
down if working from left to right.
5. Squeeze the handles of the tool to open the jaws and remove the stripped cable.
