This manual has been prepared to acquaint you with the operation, maintenance and warranties of your new
Roadtrek Motorhome Van. Your vehicle has been designed, engineered and manufactured to provide you with
the utmost in pleasure, dependability and quality. t is important that you read the contents of this manual,
that of the Dodge chassis and those of other components, and follow the instructions and recommendations
contained in each to help assure the most enjoyable and trouble free operation of your vehicle.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for selecting a Roadtrek product, and assure you of our
continuing commitment to your recreational vehicle pleasure, safety and satisfaction.

This manual has been written to provide you with the information required to properly operate and maintain your
new Roadtrek. After reading this manual, be sure to keep it in your vehicle as a reference. Your Roadtrek dealer will
be glad to answer any further questions about the operation of your vehicle.

Weight Ratings
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, (GVWR): is the maximum
permissible weight of this vehicle when fully loaded. It
includes all weight at the vehicle axle(s).
Unloaded Vehicle Weight, (UVW): is the weight of this
motorhome as manufactured at the factory. It includes all
weight at the vehicle axle(s). If applicable, it also includes
full generator fluids, including fuel, engine oil and
coolants.
Combined Occupant and Cargo Carrying Capacity,
(OCCC): is equal to GVWR minus the UVW. Occupants, fresh
water, and tongue weight of any towed items count as
cargo.
Gross Combined Weight Rating, (GCWR): means the
maximum allowable loaded weight of this motorhome and
any towed trailer or towed vehicle.
Seating Capacity: is the manufacturer’s designated
number of seating positions.
Gross Axle Weight Rating, (GAWR): is the value specified
as the load carrying capacity of a single axle system, as
measured at the tire-ground interfaces.
Towing Guidelines: Consult Dodge Sprinter Owners Manual(s) for specific weighing instructions and towing
guidelines, including auxiliary brake requirements for any towed trailer or towed vehicle.
Weighing Procedure: Prior to weighing each unit, the fuel tank must be full, as well as the fresh water tank. All
tires must be of equal pressure, and any snow must be removed.
Note: the weighing must be done on level ground!
Equipment: 2 Portable Scales, (including electrical power source), 2 wooden ramps, lift and pressure gauge.
Alternate: D.O.T. approved customer scales.
Note: Wooden ramps must be equal to or less than 1/8" of the height of the scales being used.
Procedure:
1) Fill Fuel Tank.
2) Fill Fresh Water Tank.
3) Measure all tire pressures and equalize if necessary.
4) Place wooden ramps below rear wheels, (using lift or driving onto ramps for levelling vehicle;
N/A if commercial scales used).
5) Place scales under front wheels.
6) Record scale readings.
7) Repeat for rear wheels.

WARN NGS AND CAUT ONS
This manual contains WARN NGS against operating
procedures which could result in an accident or bodily injury.
The manual also contains CAUT ONS against procedures
which could result in damage to your vehicle.
If you do not read the entire manual you may miss important
information. Please observe all Warnings & Cautions.
Note: This manual applies only to the SS-Ideal model.

WARN NGS:
SEAT BELTS:
Only forward facing seats equipped with factory installed seat belts are to be occupied while the vehicle is
in motion. All passengers must be seated in these seats only, with the seat belts fastened while the vehicle
is in motion.
TV:
The flat screen TV should not be stored inside the Roadtrek in temperatures below -4°F, (-20°C). Remove it
to reduce the chance of damage from the cold. The operating temperature of the monitor is
recommended between 50°F and 104°F, (10°C and 40°C) with a humidity range of 10% to 80%, non
condensing.
If your vehicle is equipped with an optional flat screen TV, the TV must be off and in the stored position
during travel.
PROPANE:
Portable propane tanks must not be placed or stored inside your vehicle. The propane tanks are equipped
with safety devices which relieve excessive pressure by discharging gas to the atmosphere.
To reduce the danger of fire or explosion do not store gasoline or other flammable liquids inside your
vehicle.
nsure that you purchase propane from a reputable propane facility. Contaminated propane is a common
cause of system failure and is not covered under any warranty.
nsure that the propane tank is not filled to more than 80% of its capacity.
The propane tank valve must be closed and ALL PILOT LIGHTS, APPLIANC S, AND TH IR IGNIT RS,
(see Appliance Manufacturer Operating Instructions) SHALL B TURN D OFF during refueling of the motor
fuel tank and/or the propane fuel tank. Only qualified personnel should refuel your propane tank.
APPL ANCES:
It is not safe to use cooking appliances for space heating purposes due to the danger of asphyxiation.
The propane stove needs fresh air for its safe operation.
Portable fuel burning equipment, including wood, charcoal, Naptha grills and stoves, and propane
catalytic heaters or lanterns should not be used inside your vehicle. Use of this type of equipment inside
your vehicle can cause a fire or asphyxiation.
CARBON MONOX DE/PROPANE LEAK DETECTOR:
Do not block the air circulation in the area where the carbon monoxide/propane leak detector is located,
(see picture F-P1 on page F-2).
Battery disconnect switch must be in the “ON” position for the Safety Detector to function.

110 VOLT ELECTR CAL SERV C NG:
Prior to servicing the 110 volt Galley GFCI & Audio/Video cabinet interior receptacles, unplug the output lead
from the power inverter.
EXTER OR ACCESS DOORS:
nsure the shore power cord and city water supply line are disconnected and are placed in their stored
positions before the vehicle is put in motion.
CAUT ONS:
AWN NG:
nsure that the sliding side door and passenger front door are closed prior to opening or closing the awning.
SL DE OUT ROOM:
Please ensure that all areas inside and outside the rear of the vehicle are clear and the rear doors are fully open
before moving the slide in or out.
EXTRA COUNTER SPACE:
Make sure the stove is off and has cooled prior to lowering the stove cover.
TV:
When the vehicle is in motion it is recommended that the TV be “OFF” and in the stored position. The flat
screen TV, (option TF) should not be stored inside the Roadtrek in temperatures below -4°F, (-20°C).
The operating temperature of the monitor is recommended between 50°F & 104°F, (10°C – 40°C) with a

To remove the TV, remove the four mounting bolts on the back of the TV mounting bracket and remove the
RCA cables, power supply cable, and antenna cable.
AUX L ARY BATTER ES:
Battery acid can burn your skin and damage clothing. Protective eye wear and gloves should be worn while
handling batteries.
REPLAC NG THE AUX L ARY BATTER ES:
nsure that the inverter is disconnected prior to disconnecting the auxiliary batteries.
GENERATOR:
When launching a boat using your Roadtrek, it is very important to note that the generator MUST NOT be
submerged in water. When using the generator as the main power sorce to run the appliances, refer to the
generator owners manual for proper use and maintinance.
NOT : The generator cannot run all of the appliances at the same time.
WASTE WATER STORAGE AND DUMP NG SYSTEM:
nsure that both the black and gray water gate valves are closed, (inward position) before using the waste
water system.

DAILY LIVING
CAPTAIN SEATS:
To recline, pull up the recline control located below the inboard armrest and lean back.
To slide, pull the bar up located on the front of the seat upward, and slide the seat either forward or back, see
Picture B-P1.
To swivel the seats from a forward facing position to a rearward facing position pull the swivel lever up.
1. nsure that the back of the seat is reclined
forward, as far as the recline control allows.
2. Slide the seat forward but not so far as to lose
clearance of the engine cover.
3. Put the tilt steering wheel in the uppermost
position.
4. Lower the driver seat as far as possible using
the lever on the door side of the seat (see
picture B-P2)
5. The swivel lever is located on the inboard side
of the seat and locks the seat in a forward
facing position. To release push the swivel lever
down and the seat freely swivels, see location
on Picture B-P1.
6. Swivel the seats to the desired positions, (see
Picture B-P3).
7. Once completed, you may lower the tilt
steering wheel and adjust the recline and slide
controls as desired.

SL DE OUT OPERAT ON:
WARN NG: Do not operate the slide out with persons or equipment in, or on it. This can overload the
motor or mechanism and cause failure or possible injury.
CAUT ON: nsure that the rear doors are fully open and the area outside the vehicle is clear of any
obstructions.
CAUT ON: The slide out is not a storage shelf. Do not stack or store any equipment or materials on top of
it when it is in or out.
NOTE: The motor for the slide mechanism draws approximately 4 Amps. If the coach batteries are in a
discharged state, you may need to start and run the engine to recharge the batteries enough to move the
room.
NOTE: There is a bright Red light on the dashboard
that comes on if the room is out when the key is in the
ignition and turned on (see Picture B-P4). Do not move
the vehicle when this light is on.
EXTEND NG THE SL DE OUT ROOM:
1• nsure that the vehicle’s transmission is in Park,
and the parking brake is fully engaged.
2• Level the vehicle, lower the spare tire carrier (if
applicable), and open the rear doors fully to the
magnetic stops that are on the chassis.
3• Press and hold the rear side of the slide out switch
located above the side entry door (See picture B-P5)
until the room stops and then release it. DO NOT
continue to hold the switch after it stops. If the room
stops only part way out, release the switch
immediately, check for and clear any obstructions, and
wait 30 seconds before trying again. There is an
automatically resetting breaker in the system to
protect the motor that needs to cool before it will reset.

SL DE OUT OPERAT ON:
4• Bring each of the rear doors back to the side of
the slide and fasten with the Nylon strap and clips
provided, then pull the loose end of the strap to
tighten underneath the slide (See Picture B-P6).
RETRACT NG THE SL DE OUT ROOM:
1• Disconnect the Nylon strap on rear doors and
open doors fully to the magnetic stops.
2• Remove and store the dinette table if set up.
3• Remove cushions from side seats (if used) and
flip the seat bases up, ensuring that the white turn
buttons are engaged to hold them in position. (See
Picture B-P8. Failure to do this could cause damage
to these seats when the slide comes in.
4• nsure that the area between the slide out,
fridge and galley is fully clear of any persons or
materials and that there are no persons sitting in
the slide out.
5• Press and hold the forward side of the slide out
switch until the room stops and then release it. DO
NOT continue to hold the switch after it stops. If the
room stops only part way in, release the switch
immediately, check for any obstructions, and wait
30 seconds before trying again.
6• Once the room is fully in, check for
obstructions, close and lock the storage
compartment, close the rear doors, and resecure
the tire carrier (if applicable).

D NETTE TABLE:
Remove the table leg from it's stored position and place it in the floor base receptacle, located in the aisle way
at the rear on the floor or in the front of the cabin. The table top is stored in the closet, (see Picture B-P10) Place
the table top on table leg, (Picture B-P9).
When returning table to the storage position ensure the table top is placed correctly in the receptacle located in
the closet and secured with the turn button, (see Picture B-P11). Return table leg to the storage clip in the
closet, (see Picture B-P10).

SLEEP NG FAC L T ES:
REAR BED
To set up the rear bed:
1• Remove and store the dinette table and post (if
used).
2• Remove the cushions for the rear side seats and
lock the seat bases up with the turn buttons (See
Picture B-P4). Set the cushions aside for use as part
of the bed.
3• Pull the back support cushion forward and tuck
the seat belts down into the storage area (See
Picture B-P13).
4• Flip the seat back forward while pulling the seat
base forward (See Picture B-P14).
5• Place the extra bed cushions on the bed
support as shown to complete the bed (See Picture
B-P15).
DASHBOARD RADIO
The clipse dash radio with TomTom GPS has external
connections for iPod and USB inputs. These connections
are located in the passenger side glove box. The radio has
a Sirius Satellite receiver already installed that can be
activated with a valid Sirius Satellite account.
Please see the clipse manual for radio operation. Picture B-P14: Placement of seat back for bed

FLAT PANEL TELEV S ON:
TV:
To view the flat screen display open the A/V cabinet, flip out
the door support into the AC vent (see picture B-P17), pull
the TV straight out swing the screen on its mount to the
position you desire, (see Picture B-P20).
CAUT ON: When the vehicle is in motion it is required that
the TV be “OFF” and in the stored position.
To store the flat screen display, swing the screen on its base
and reinsert it into the storage pocket, (see Picture B-P19).
You will have to tilt the TV up a little to facilitate this
reinsertion and prevent the TV from rubbing on the
cabinetry.
The TV and Home Theater appliances have their own User
Manuals. Please read them for operation instructions of the
individual devices.

A (Button out): Antenna.

AUD O/V DEO CAB NET:
The following are found in the audio/video
cabinet, (see Picture B-P18).
1. A/B signal selection switch.
2. Antenna ON/OFF switch, (Wineguard crank up).

4. Air conditioner and microwave oven 110V AC
receptacles (The TV and home theater units are
plugged in behind the HT, accessible from below in
the closet).
5. Surround-Sound Home Theater system. (NOT :
The rear vehicle speakers are wired as the HT front
left and right channels, assuming that users would be
watching movies from the front of the vehicle)
The speaker mode switch allows changing the signal
source for the rear speakers to Surround Sound (from
the DVD player); off; or Automotive, for the
automotive radio.

WASHROOM AND SHOWER AREA:
FRONT AND REAR WASHROOM DOORS:
Front washroom door:
1. To open the front washroom door loosen
the thumb screw, lift the door latch and
pull, (see Picture B-P24).
Rear washroom door:
1. To open the rear washroom door lift the,
(in transit) locking pin and turn the pin
towards the aisle, (see Picture B-P27).
2. Be sure to have the front washroom door
open first.
3. Pull door open.
Washroom exhaust fan:
1. To open the washroom exhaust vent, push
up on the vent handle, (see picture B-P26).
2. To turn on the washroom exhaust vent,
turn the ON/OFF switch clockwise to the
“ON” position, (see Picture B-P26).
