Congratulations on your purchase of a high-quality Rocketfish
product. Your RF-3800 three-piece speaker system represents the
state of the art in speaker design, and is designed for reliable and
trouble-free performance.
Introduction
This system is designed to deliver superior performance with devices
such as computers, iPod®, MP-3 players, DVD players, and other
portable devices. The system offers high-efficiency, long-excursion
drivers combined with a low-distortion, high-powered amplifier that
provides deep base with clarity and great dynamic range.

Safety information
Warning
• Keep your speakers out of the rain and humid conditions to avoid the
possibility of electric shock. Keep speakers away from water to avoid
electric shock. Keep water from dripping on the speakers and do not put
objects containing water, such as vases, on top of the speakers. Do not
put the speakers near standing water.
Cautions
• Read the users guide before making any connections or operating your
speakers.
• Do not plug the power supply in until all other connections are made.
• Use only the AC/DC power adapter supplied with these speakers.
Rocketfish will not be held responsible for damage caused by the use of
another power supply.
• Keep your speakers away from extreme heat or sources that produce
heat, such as space heaters, radiators, and stoves.
• Use a dry cloth for cleaning. Do not expose any part of the system to

Speaker controls
Feature Description
Volume up button Press to increase the volume.
Volume down button Press to decrease the volume.
Bass up button Press to increase the bass volume.
Bass down button Press to decrease the bass volume.
Power button Press to turn on the speakers. Press again to turn off the speakers.
Microphone input jack Plug a microphone connector into this jack.
Headphone jack Connect a set of headphones to this jack. The speakers automatically mute. The
volume buttons can be used to control the volume to your headphones.

Setting up your speakers
Place the subwoofer on the floor, near a wall, for optimum
performance. We recommend that you place the stereo speakers as
far apart as possible in the listening area. For example, when the
speakers are connected to a computer, place the left speaker on the
far left corner of your desktop and the right speaker on the far right
corner of your desktop.
Connecting the speakers
These speakers are compatible with a variety of audio devices. Read
the instructions first, then refer to the diagrams to connect your
speakers.

Connecting to a second audio device
The auxiliary input jack lets you connect a second audio source to
your speakers. For example, if your speakers are connected to your
computer and you want to connect your MP3 player. This second
source will override your computer connection while it’s plugged in.
To connect to a second audio source:
• Plug a cable from the second audio source into the headphone output
jack on the second audio source, then plug the other connector into the
3.5 mm AUX jack on the right speaker.
Using the microphone pass-through connection
This feature lets you connect a microphone to the speaker and have
the audio input go to your computer. This pass-through feature is the
same as connecting a microphone directly to your computer.
To use the microphone pass-through connection:
• Plug a microphone cable into the microphone jack on the side of the
right speaker, then connect a cable from the MIC OUT jack on the back of
the right speaker to the microphone jack on the computer.

Using your speakers
To use your speakers:
1Plug the AC power adapter into a power outlet, then plug the DC
connector into the DC In jack on the back of the subwoofer.
2Plug the red DIN connector from the right speaker to the subwoofer.
3Plug the green audio connector into the audio source.
4Press the power button to turn on the speakers.
5Turn on the audio source, then adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
Troubleshooting
Checking your sound source
You may believe that the speakers are not working, when, in fact, the
sound source may be the problem. When connecting to a computer,
the most common problem is an incorrect connection. Make sure
that you are connected to the audio output jack from your computer
sound card (usually green). Also, make sure that your CD or DVD drive
is playing and the volume settings are turned up and not muted. If
you still have problems, disconnect the speaker source cable from
your computer and connect it to any device with a mini headphone
jack, such as a digital music player. If your speakers work on the other
source, the speakers are functioning correctly and the problem is in
your computer or the connections.
Problem Solution
The speakers will not turn on The AC power adapter is not connected to the subwoofer and the power outlet.
The power is not turned on.
Make sure that the power outlet or power strip you are using is actually getting power.
The speaker does not
produce sound
Make sure that the speakers are getting power (see above steps).
The volume setting is too low. Turn up the master volume control on the speakers .
Check all cable connections.
Make sure that your music source is functioning correctly. (See more on this below.)
The sound is distorted Turn the volume down. If this does not work, check the volume of the computer, or other audio
device you are using, and decrease if necessary.
Adjust the computer’s master volume control by balancing the sound level until it is centered,
then adjust the volume levels on the speakers.

1 Year Limited Warranty
Rocketfish Products (“Rocketfish”) warrants to you, the original purchaser of this new RF-3800
(“Product”), that the Product shall be free of defects in the original manufacture of the material
or workmanship for one (1) year from the purchase of the Product (“Warranty Period”). This
Product must be purchased from an authorized dealer of Rocketfish brand products and
packaged with this warranty statement. This warranty does not cover refurbished Product. If
you notify Rocketfish during the Warranty Period of a defect covered by this warranty that
requires service, terms of this warranty apply.
How long does the coverage last?
The Warranty Period lasts for one year (365 days), beginning on the date you purchased the
Product. The purchase date is printed on the receipt you received with the Product.
What does this warranty cover?
During the Warranty Period, if the original manufacture of the material or workmanship of the
Product is determined to be defective by an authorized Rocketfish repair center or store
personnel, Rocketfish will (at its sole option): (1) repair the Product with new or rebuilt parts; or
(2) replace the Product at no charge with new or rebuilt comparable products or parts. Products
and parts replaced under this warranty become the property of Rocketfish and are not returned
to you. If service of Products and parts are required after the Warranty Period expires, you must
pay all labor and parts charges. This warranty lasts as long as you own your Rocketfish Product
during the Warranty Period. Warranty coverage terminates if you sell or otherwise transfer the
Product.
How to obtain warranty service?
If you purchased the Product at a retail store location, take your original receipt and the Product
to the store you purchased it from. Make sure that you place the Product in its original
packaging or packaging that provides the same amount of protection as the original
packaging. If you purchased the Product from an online web site, mail your original receipt and
the Product to the address listed on the web site. Make sure that you put the Product in its
original packaging or packaging that provides the same amount of protection as the original
packaging.
Where is the warranty valid?
This warranty is valid only to the original purchaser of the Product in the United States and
Canada.
What does the warranty not cover?
This warranty does not cover:

• Products where the factory applied serial number has been altered or removed

Informations sur la sécurité
Attention
• Placer les haut-parleurs à l’abri de la pluie et de l’humidité pour éviter les
chocs électriques potentiels. Placer tous les haut-parleurs à l’écart de
l’eau pour éviter des chocs électriques. Éviter les éclaboussures d’eau sur
les haut-parleurs et ne pas placer d’objets remplis d’eau, tels que des

Installation des haut-parleurs
Placer le haut-parleur d’extrêmes graves sur le plancher, près d’un
mur, pour un rendement optimal. Il est recommandé que les
haut-parleurs stéréo soient éloignés le plus possible l’un de l’autre
dans la zone d’écoute. Par exemple, quand les haut-parleurs sont
connectés à un ordinateur, placer le haut-parleur gauche dans le coin
gauche le plus éloigné du PC et le haut-parleur droit dans le coin
droit le plus éloigné du PC.

Connexion des haut-parleurs
Ces haut-parleurs sont compatibles avec une large gamme de
périphériques audio. Lire d’abord les instructions, puis se référer aux
schémas pour connecter les haut-parleurs.
Connexion à un deuxième périphérique audio
La prise d’entrée auxiliaire permet de connecter une deuxième
source audio aux haut-parleurs. Par exemple, si les haut-parleurs sont
connectés à l’ordinateur et qu’un lecteur de MP3 doit être aussi
connecté. Cette seconde source désactive la connexion à l’ordinateur
tant qu’elle est branchée.

Pour connecter à une deuxième source audio :
• Brancher un câble de la deuxième source audio sur la prise de sortie du
casque d’écoute de la seconde source audio, puis brancher l’autre
connecteur sur la prise AUX de 3,5 mm du haut-parleur droit.
Utilisation de la connexion directe pour le microphone
Cette fonctionnalité permet de connecter un microphone au
haut-parleur et d’avoir l’entrée audio sur l’ordinateur. Cette
fonctionnalité de connexion directe est identique à la connexion
directe d’un microphone à l’ordinateur.
Pour utiliser la connexion directe du microphone :
• Connecter le câble d’un microphone à la prise microphone sur le côté du
haut-parleur droit, puis connecter un câble de la prise MIC OUT (Sortie
microphone) à l’arrière du haut-parleur droit à la prise microphone de
l’ordinateur.

Utilisation des haut-parleurs
Pour utiliser les haut-parleurs :
1Brancher l’adaptateur d’alimentation CA sur une prise secteur, puis le
connecteur CC sur la prise DC In (entrée CC) à l’arrière du haut-parleur
d’extrêmes graves.
2Brancher le connecteur DIN rouge du haut-parleur droit au haut-parleur
d’extrêmes graves.
3Brancher le connecteur audio vert sur la source audio.
4Appuyer sur Power (Marche/Arrêt) pour mettre les haut-parleurs sous
tension.
5Mettre la source audio sous tension, puis régler le volume à un niveau
acceptable.
Problèmes et solutions
Vérification de la source sonore
Les haut-parleurs peuvent paraître ne pas fonctionner, alors qu’en fait
le problème vient de la source sonore. Lors de la connexion à un
ordinateur, le problème le plus courant provient d’une connexion
incorrecte. Vérifier qu’ils sont bien connectés à la prise de sortie audio
de la carte son de l’ordinateur (en général verte). Vérifier également
que le lecteur de CD ou de DVD fonctionne et que le réglage du

Le volume est réglé à un niveau trop faible. Augmenter le volume principal des haut-parleurs.
Vérifier les connexions de tous les câbles.
Vérifier que la source de musique fonctionne correctement (voir les informations ci-dessous).
Le son est déformé Réduire le volume. Si cela ne produit aucun effet, vérifier le volume de l’ordinateur ou de l’autre
périphérique audio utilisé et le diminuer si nécessaire.
Régler le volume principal de l’ordinateur en centrant l’équilibre du niveau sonore, puis régler
les niveaux du volume des haut-parleurs.

source, cela signifie que le problème provient de l’ordinateur ou des
connexions.
