◆Foam Surround
TheFullRangespeakers incorporateaprecisionrolledfoamsurround
for the front of the speaker's suspension. The foam surround controls
the linear excursion of the cone to minimize distortion for full range
applications.
THE RESULT: Controls excursion to minimize distortion.
This manual contains information on the construction, installation and
operation of the Full Range Speakers. We recommend you keep this
manual for future reference.
The Full Range Speakers are two-way speakers designed to improve the
performance of the factory installed car stereo system. Sized to fit most
automotiveapplications,theFullRangeSpeakersprovidethefirststepin
an upgrade to the factory system.

◆Polypropylene Cone
The polypropylene cones used in the Full Range Speakers are mica
filled for a high stiffness to mass ratio. This gives the cone strength
while allowing it to remain very light for minimal input power
required . The polypropylene cones are also resistive to the elements
which is beneficial for dash and rear deck installations.

◆Polyetherimide (PEI) Tweeter
The Full Range Speakers use a polymer dome for controlled high
frequency reproduction. The PEI dome also exhibits a high stiffness-
to-mass ratio which eliminates coloration of high frequencies.
THE RESULT: Controlled high frequency response.
◆Magnetic Fluid Cooling
Magnetic fluid is a synthetic liquid consisting of microscopic mag-
neticparticles.Thefluidhasfourtimesthethermalconductivityasair
which makes it an ideal cooling agent. Magnetic fluid is injected into
the voice coil gap which helps dissipate heat generated by the voice
coil.
THE RESULT: A thermal conductor which allows increased power
handling.
◆Phase Plug
The tweeters (except RFP-1469) incorporate a phase plug mounted
just above the tweeter dome. The Phase Plug controls the tweeter's
dispersion pattern and increases off-axis response for better imaging.
THE RESULT: Controls dispersion for better imaging.

SincesomeoftheseFullRangeSpeakersaremostoftenusedasdirect
replacements for stock speakers and are shipped without grilles,
some of the following instructions will not apply. For custom instal-
lations see your Authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealer.
1. Determine where the speakers will be mounted. Ensure an area
large enough for the speaker to mount evenly. Be sure that the
mountinglocationisdeepenoughforthespeakertofit;ifmounting
inadoor,operateallfunctions(windows,locks,etc.)throughtheir
entire operating range to ensure there is no obstruction.
2. Refer to the specification chart to determine the proper diameter
hole to cut for your speaker model.
3. Using the plastic mounting ring as a template, mark the locations
for the mounting screws. Drill the holes with a 1/8" bit.
4. Slipthescrewclipsovertheholesthatwerejustdrilledwiththeflat
side on the outer face.
5. Feed the speaker wires through the cutout and the plastic mount-
ing ring (from the flat side) and connect to the speaker terminals.
Besuretoobserveproperpolaritywhenconnectingthewires.The
speaker's positive terminal is indicated with a dot.
6. Fit the ring and speaker to the cutout. Mount them using the
enclosed screws. Fit the grille inside the ring and press gently, but
firmly, into place.

Rockford Corporation offers a limited warranty on Rockford Fosgate products on the
following terms:
•Length of Warranty
1 year on speakers 30 days on speaker B-stock (receipt required)
3 years on electronics 90daysonelectronicB-stock(receiptrequired)

•What is Covered
This warranty applies only to Rockford Fosgate products sold to consumers by
Authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealers in the United States of America or its
possessions. Product purchased by consumers from an Authorized Rockford
Fosgate Dealer in another country are covered only by that country’s Distributor
and not by Rockford Corporation.
•Who is Covered
This warranty covers only the original purchaser of Rockford product purchased
from an Authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealer in the United States. In order to
receive service, the purchaser must provide Rockford with a copy of the receipt
statingthecustomername,dealername,productpurchasedanddateofpurchase.
•Products found to be defective during the warranty period will be repaired or
replaced (with a product deemed to be equivalent) at Rockford's discretion.
•What is Not Covered
1. Damage caused by accident, abuse, improper operations, water, theft
2. Any cost or expense related to the removal or reinstallation of product
3. Service performed by anyone other than Rockford or an Authorized Rockford

INSTALACIÓN
La mayoria de estos altavoces se usan principalmente como reemplazo
directodelosaltavocesdeorigendelvehiculoynovienenequipadoscon
rejillas, por lo que algunas de las siguientes instrucciones no serán
aplicables. Para una instalación personalizada consulte a su distribuidor

1. Determine donde han de montarse los altavoces. Asegúrese de que
hay espacio suficiente tanto de área como de profundidad para alojar
el altavoz. Si el montaje es en una puerta, todas las funciones han de
ser respetadas (alzacristales, cierres, etc.).
2. Consulte la hoja de caracteristicas para determinar el diametro del
agujero a realizar para su modelo de altavoz.
3. Use los anillos de montaje de plático como plantilla. Marque la
posición de los tornillos de anclaje.

terminales del altavoz. Observe la polaridad. El terminal positivo está
marcado con un punto.
6. Ajusteel anillo yel altavozal orificio.Móntelo utilizandolos tornillos
suministrados. Fije la rejilla en el anillo de plástico y presione
firmemente.
