General Safety Precautions
Read instructions
All the safety and operating instructions should be read carefully before the unit
is operated.
Retain Instructions
The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future reference.
Heed warnings
All warnings on the equipment and in the operating instructions should be
adhered to.
Water and moisture
The unit should not be used near water – for example, near a bathtub, washbowl,
kitchen sink, laundry machine, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool.
Introduction
Congratulations on your new Oxygene CD Player. You have made an excellent
choice!
All ROKSAN products are designed, engineered and manufactured in United
Kingdom and thoroughly tested before shipment in order to provide best
musical satisfaction and lasting value. We have gone to every length to assure
that this CD player will work with very little previous knowledge of the product
so that you will be able to enjoy its musicality right away.
Nonetheless we recommend that you read these instructions carefully, as there
are elements that should be acknowledged before you start using your new
Oxygene CD Player.
Unpacking
Carefully lift the CD Player out of the box and make sure not to scratch the
surfaces.
Please save the packaging in a dry place for future use. Should your unit require
transporting it is strongly advised it is transported in the original packaging. Your
warranty may be affected if alternative packaging is used and transport damage
is caused due to inadequate packaging.

Heat
The unit should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat
registers, stoves, direct sunlight or other components that produce heat.
Ventilation
The unit should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere
with its proper ventilation. For example, the unit should not be situated on a
bed, sofa, rug, carpet, or similar surface that may block the ventilation openings,
or placed in a built-in installation such as a book-case or closed cabinet that may
impede the flow of air though the ventilation openings.
Object and liquid entry
Care should be taken so that objects do not fall, and liquids are not spilt into the
enclosure openings.
Non-use periods
The power cord of the equipment should be unplugged from the mains outlet
when left unused for a longer period of time – for instance for a vacation period.
Service and repairs
All service and repair work must be performed by a qualified technician,
authorized by ROKSAN. The warranty will become void, if the unit has been
modified or tampered with.
INSTALLATION
Installation
Keep power switched off when connecting or disconnecting the unit to other
components. This will prevent unpleasant and loud noises coming from the
loudspeakers and avoid the risk of damage to the equipment.
Analogue Outputs
The Oxygene CD Player has left and right channel analogue outputs via RCA
connectors. Use these outputs for connection to an integrated amplifier or
preamplifier.
Digital Outputs
There are two digital outputs on the Oxygene CD Player - one via an RCA type
connector and the other via a TOSLINK type connector. If you wish to use the

Oxygene CD Player with a separate D/A converter, connect this to either the RCA
socket or the TOSLINK socket. DO NOT connect to both sockets at the same time
as this could degrade sound quality.
Power cord
The separate power cord supplied connects to the 3-pin power socket on the
rear panel. Make all connections before fitting the mains power cord.
ON/OFF
Press the ON/OFF button on the back of the Oxygene CD Player to power it up.
Standby
You will notice that the Oxygene products do not have a standby function. This
is because we constantly strive to make our products as environment – friendly
as possible; and the best way to save on electricity is to turn off the unit when
not in use. Furthermore, as stated these units do not require a warm up time.
Many audio products require a long warm up period in order to perform at their
best. This is not the case with the Oxygene series, since these units have been
designed using the latest digital technology.
Mains Voltage
The correct AC mains voltage is printed on the label situated on the bottom of
the unit. Make sure your AC mains voltage is for a specific voltage and will only
work with that voltage (±10%).
Three versions of the Oxygene CD players are available:
100 V 50/60Hz, 120 V 50/60 Hz and 230V 50/60Hz.
In case you move to a country that has a different AC supply voltage, contact
your Roksan authorized distributor, for a professional conversion to the new
supply voltage.
Cables
Use the ROKSAN interconnect cables. We cannot emphasize this enough.
As better components and systems are developed, it becomes increasingly
important to avoid the limitations of inferior system interconnections.

LESS IS MORE
LESS IS MORE
Please note that there is more than one different functions hidden behind every
word and in some cases two words must be pressed simultaneously in order to
activate the desired function. You’ll get familiar with the various commands after
just a few minutes. All functions can also be accessed via the Oxygene remote
control (please refer to the section about the Oxygene remote control unit).
PLAY Insert a new CD or press “MORE” If there is already a CD
in the player.
STOP Press “IS” for more than one second.
EJECT Press “IS” one when the CD is not playing or press “IS”
twice successively during playback.
PAUSE Press “IS” during playback. Press “IS” again to resume
playback.
OPERATION
“LESS IS MORE”
The Oxygene CD Player has 3 hidden switches incorporated in the words “LESS
IS MORE” on top of the cabinet. These three switches/words control all basic
functions of the CD Player.

Insert Disc
When a disc is inserted, the TOC(table of content) will be recognized, but not
displayed, and track no.1 will start playing. Track number and elapsed time will
be displayed.
General
If the unit is set to Pause, Stop or Eject this will read in the display for 3 seconds
at maximum light strength.
Tracks will read 1, 2, 3 and so forth – minutes and seconds will read 1:01 etc. If
no disc is present in the slot drive, the display will read “NO DISC” whenever the
unit is turned on.

LESS IS MORE
REPEAT Press “LESS” AND “MORE” simultaneously for more
than one second. Press both buttons again to turn
off repeat mode.
NEXT TRACK Press “MORE” once.
PREVIOUS TRACK Press “LESS” once.
FAST FORWARD Press “MORE” for more than one second.
FAST BACKWARD Press “LESS” for more than one second.

General
Remote Receiver
The remote receiver is located behind the 3 small holes on the front top right
corner of either amplifier or CD player.
Display and Dimmer
The Oxygene display has three brightness positions; Bright, Dim & Light off.
When selecting any functions either by remote control or touch of “LESS”, “IS” or
“MORE” on the unit, the display will go bright to acknowledge contact allowing
for functions to be selected. The dot-matrix display will appropriately show
“VOLUME” or “LINE INPUT”.
Recommendations
Allow your new Oxygene CD Player a reasonable break in period. Although it
delivers outstanding performance straight out of the box, you should expect to
hear sonic improvements as the electronic components are broken in. This may
take several days, but the performance will be quite constant afterwards.

WARRANTY
Your ROKSAN Product is guaranteed against any defect in materials and
workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase or first use
whichever is earlier. This guarantee only becomes effective once your product
has been registered at Roksan within fourteen (14) days of purchase. ROKSAN
reserves the right to ask for a copy of your purchase invoice.
This guarantee excludes:
• Damagecausedduetoaccident,misuse,neglectandincorrect
installation,adjustmentorrepair.
• Liabilityfordamageorlossduringtransitfromtheretailerorpurchaserto
ROKSANoritsauthoriseddistributorforthepurposesofrepairorinspection.
Warranty repair processes and conditions:

authorizedretailer.
• Allthewarrantyissueswillbedealtwiththroughthesellingretailerandor
marketdistributor.
This warranty is subject to the following conditions and limitations:
• Thewarrantyisvoidandinapplicableiftheproducthasbeenusedor
handledotherthaninaccordancewiththeinstructionsintheowner’s
manual,abused,misusedordamagedbyaccident,neglectorwhilebeing
transported,orthedefectisduetotheproductbeingrepairedortampered
withbyanyoneotherthanROKSANoranauthorizedROKSANrepaircentreor
retailer.
