ます。
この取扱説明書ではドラム・キットの組み立てから、基本的な演奏の方法について説明しています。
この機器を正しくお使いいただくために、ご使用前に「安全上のご注意」（p.2）をよくお読みください。また、この機器の優
れた機能を十分ご理解いただくためにも、この取扱説明書をよくお読みください。取扱説明書は必要なときにすぐに見ること
ができるよう、手元に置いてください。
その他の機器については、それぞれの取扱説明書を参照してください。

コンパクト・スタンド（MDS-7U）
の組み立て
組み立ての前に、パイプに貼られたシール（L、R）で、パイプの左側（L）と右側（R）を確認してください。
クランプ・ノブを緩めたりパイプを回転させて、スタンドを演奏しやすいように調節してください。調節が終わ
ったら、必ずクランプ・ノブを締めてください。
スタンドやマウントなど、部品の形状が図と異なることがあります。そのような場合にはMDS-7Uの取扱説明書
にしたがって組み立ててください。

KD-7には、お持ちのキック・ペダルを取り付けてください。ビーター
（付属品）は図のように取り付けてください。
フット・プレートの使いかた
お手持ちのキック・ペダルを使用して、最も安定して叩けるように高
さを調節してください。
FD-7では、ペダルを踏むときの重さを荷重調整ナットで調節できま
す。また、ロッドの長さを変えることで、踏み込み量を変えることが
できます。

長時間使用しないときは、ロッドをb図の状態で保管してくださ
い。また、ペダル・プレートを踏み込んだままの状態で長時間放置
しないでください。故障の原因となります。
パッドをMDY-7Uに取り付ける場合、付属のワッシャーとクッション
は組み立てには必要ありませんが、紛失しないように図のように取り
付けることをおすすめします。

他の機器と接続するときは、誤動作やスピーカーなどの破損を防ぐため、必ずすべての機器の音量を絞り、電源を切った状態
で行ってください。
ACアダプターは、必ず付属のものをお使いください。付属のACアダプター以外は、誤動作や故障、感電の原因になります。
PD-7、PD-9付属のステレオ・ケーブルを使ってパッドをTD-7に接続してください。

接続の前に、TD-7と接続するすべての機器の電源がオフになっていることを確認してください。電源を入れたまま接続する
と、スピーカーなどを破損することがあります。すべての接続が終わったら、MDS-7U付属のケーブル・タイまたはケーブ

TD-7の電源を入れてから、接続している他の機器の電源を入れます。
※電源を入れてからディスプレイにパッチ・プレイ画面が表示されるまでは、パッドを叩いたり、
ハイハット・コントロール・ペダルを踏んだりしないでください。ディスプレイにパッチ・プレ
イ画面が表示される前に演奏すると、音が小さくなったり、鳴らなくなったりします。このよう
な場合は、一度電源をオフにし、再度オンにして、パッチ・プレイ画面が表示されるまで待って
ください。
それでは、パッドを叩いたり、ペダルを踏んだりして、演奏してみましょう。
※ 電源をオフにするときは、他の機器の電源をオフにしてから、TD-7の電源をオフにします。
＜ハイハット・コントロール＞
ハイハット・コントロール・ペダルの操作でオープン・ハイハットからクローズ・ハイハットまで音を連続して
変化させることができます。また、フット・クローズやフット・オープン（ペダルを踏み、すぐ離してハイハッ
トを鳴らす奏法）も可能です。
＜パッチの切り替え＞
TD-7には、どのパッドを叩くとどの音が鳴るかという組み合わせのほか、各機能の設定があらかじめ記録され
ています。これを「パッチ」といいます。32種類のパッチ（次ページ）のうち、いくつかを切り替えて演奏し
てみましょう。
パッチ・プレイ画面が表示されていることを確認してください。パッチ・プレイ画面になっていないときはパッ
チ・プレイ画面になるまで［EXIT］ボタンを繰り返し押してください。
［］［ ］ボタンでパッチ1〜32を切り替えます。［DATA］つまみをまわしてもパッチを選ぶことができます。

PD-7、PD-9では、リム・ショットやチョーク奏法（音のミュート）ができます。
＜リム・ショット（PD-7、PD-9）＞
リム・ショットをするときは、必ずパッドのヘッド部（中心部）とリム部（外周部）の両方を同時に叩いてくだ
さい。リム部だけを叩いたときは、うまく音が鳴りません。
※ PD-5ではリム・ショットはできません。
＜チョーク奏法（PD-7、PD-9）＞
パッドを叩いた直後にそのパッドのリム部を握ると、発音中のインストゥルメントの音が消えます。
※ PD-5ではチョーク奏法はできません。

Thank you, and congratulations on your choice of the Roland Drum System Stage Kit. This document guides you
through assembly of the drum system, and goes on to introduce a few basics so you can start playing right away.
Before using this unit, carefully read the sections entitled: “USING THE UNIT SAFELY” (p.2). These sections provide
important information concerning the proper operation of the unit. Additionally, in order to feel assured that you have
gained a good grasp of every feature provided by your new unit, this manual should be read in its entirety. The manu-
al should be saved and kept on hand as a convenient reference.
For a detailed explanation of each piece of equipment, please refer to the respective manuals.

minimum the unwanted sound that might be pro-
duced when played (impact and other operational

• Make sure you always have the unit placed so it is
level and sure to remain stable. Never place it on
stands that could wobble, or on inclined surfaces.

• In households with small children, an adult should
provide supervision until the child is capable of fol-
lowing all the rules essential for the safe operation of
the unit.

• To prevent accidents, never allow small children to
play near the drum set.
• Try to prevent cords and cables from becoming
entangled. Also, all cords and cables should be placed
so they are out of the reach of children.

• When attaching the pads to the mounts, be sure to
tighten the screws securely. If any of them remain
loose, the pad could fall off.

• The KD-7 is provided with an anchor bolt which
prevents it from sliding while being played. Please be
careful so as not to hurt yourself while setting it.

• While playing the KD-7, please be careful so as not
to get anything caught between the pad face and the
beater.

• While playing the FD-7, please be careful so as not
to get anything caught under the pedal plate.

• When you set up the stand or attach the MDH-7U
or MDY-7U to the Stand, be sure to tighten the Clamp
Knob or Screw securely. Specially before your perfor-
mance, double-check if they are set properly. If not,
the Pad or Mount may fall.

Assembling the Drum Stand (MDS-7U)
Before starting, identify the left (L) and right (R) sides, as marked with stickers on top of the upright
tube.
Adjust the stand to any position desired by loosening the clamp knobs and rotating the fittings. Be
sure to re-tighten the clamp knobs when you achieve the setup you want.
Slight modifications may have been made in the parts making up the Drum Stand, or the shape
of the mount, so the illustration may not provide an exact depiction. If that seems to be the case,
please refer to the instructions that came with the Drum Stand instead when assembling it.

Assembling the Stage Kit
Fix the TD-7 in place using the supplied screws (M5 x 8 mm).
Never use any other screws, as damage could result to the TD-7.

The KD-7 needs to be inserted onto the end of your kick-pedal.
The beater (an accessory) should be connected as shown.
HOW TO USE THE FOOT PLATE
Using your kick pedal, adjust the height of the foot plate so that
the beater strikes the rubber pad squarely.
With the FD-7, you can adjust the amount of resistance the pedal
delivers by turning the Load Control Nut. Also, you can adjust the
travel of the pedal by changing the length of the Rod.

* When the FD-7 is not going to be used for a long period of
time, set the Rod as shown in (b). Do not leave the FD-7 with
the Pedal Plate depressed for a long period of time.
The washers and cushions supplied with the MDY-7U are
included so you can mount acoustic cymbals. Although they are
not essential for a Pad setup, you should attach them as shown
below so they do not get lost.

Slide the PD-7s/9s over the rods, and secure them in place with
the stand fixing screw.

To prevent malfunction and/or damage to speakers or other devices, always turn down the volume, and turn off
the power on all devices before making any connections.
Be sure to use only the AC adaptor supplied with the unit. Use of any other power adaptor could result in
damage, malfunction or electric shock.
Connect the Pads to the TD-7 using the cables supplied with PD-7 or PD-9 (with stereo 1/4" phone plugs).

Before connecting anything, be sure that the power is OFF on all of the equipment in your system. You risk
damaging speakers or other equipment if you make connections while the power is ON. After everything has been
connected, use the cable ties or cable clips (supplied with MDS-7U) to fix the cables to the drum stand.
To connect with the AUX IN jack, use a
cable that does not include a resistor.

Playing the Pads
First, turn ON the TD-7, then turn on all the connected units.
*After you turn on the TD-7's power, you need to wait until the Patch Play screen is displayed
before hitting any Pads or stepping on any pedals.
If you start playing before this screen has appeared, the sound you obtain might be softer
than you would normally expect, or might be wrong altogether. Should you encounter this
problem, you will need to turn the power OFF, then ON again, and then wait until the Patch
Play screen is displayed.
You can now start playing the Pads (and depressing the pedals) to check out how
your new kit sounds.
<Hi-Hat Effects>
By hitting the Hi-Hat pad while you depress the Hi-Hat Control Pedal, you can express the range
of sound between open and closed hi-hats. You can also step on the Hi-Hat Control Pedal alone
to obtain a pedal hi-hat sound.
<Changing Patches>
On the TD-7, a "Patch" is a group of settings that determines what instrument sounds are assigned
to which Pads, and certain details about the way the sounds are to be produced. All you need to
do is select a Patch number, and you can instantly obtain the whole group of settings it provides.
Try out some of the unit's 32 different Patches (see next page).
Be sure that the Patch Play screen is displayed. If the display does not show the Patch Play screen,
press [EXIT] until it is shown. To change to another Patch number, press the [ ] or [ ] but-
ton. You can also select Patches by rotating the [DATA] dial.

Playing the Pads
By using a PD-7 or PD-9, you will be obtain rim-shot and choke (abrupt mute of the sound) style
effects.
<Rim Shot (for PD-7 or PD-9)>
Next, try the Rim Shot effect. To produce a rim shot, you need to strike both the pad and the rim
of the pad at the same time. You won't obtain the right sound if you hit only the rim.
* The Rim Shot effect cannot be obtained using the PD-5.
<Choke effect (for PD-7 or PD-9)>
The Choke effect is obtained by grasping the rim of a pad immediately after you hit it, thus silenc-
ing the sound right after it has been produced.
* The Choke effect cannot be obtained using the PD-5.
