OPERATION
Connect the input source to the INPUT of the RDB109.This may be a line level or
consumer level signal. We do not recommend connecting a microphone directly
into the RDB109 INPUT. Connect the RDB109 OUTPUTs to the inputs of the
recording, broadcasting, etc.devices.
OPERATING WITH A ROLLS MIC PREAMP ACCESSORY
Remove the docking bay filler panel by removing the two screws located directly under
the docking bay on the bottom of the RDB109. Line up the holes in the bottom of the Rolls
Mic Preamp accessory with those on the bottom of the RDB109. Secure the accessory to
the RDB109 with the two screws that were removed from the filler panel.
Connect the power supply shipped with the accessory to an AC outlet. Refer to the
Owners Manual for that accessory for proper operation.
Connect the OUTPUT of the accessory to the INPUT of the RDB109. The MP13 XLR
Output connects directly to the RDB109 Input. NOTE:The other accessories require a
special cable or adapter as they do not have XLR outputs. The CL151 GLC has a 1/4”
TRS output that is easily connected to an XLR plug. Be aware that pin 2 of the XLR is
positive. The DU30 Ducker must be operated with a mono signal connected to one of the
RCA line inputs. The corresponding RCA output must be used with an RCA to XLR cable
wired with the tip to pin 2, and the shield to pin 1 and pin 3.This cable must be con-
structed by a qualified technician.
Figure 1 shows the CL151 Mic Preamp / Compressor Limiter mounted in the RDB109
docking bay. Figure 2 shows the same accessory mounted and connected (the power
adapter for the CL151 is not shown).
