richtig zu verwenden. Lesen Sie vor der Inbetriebnahme
insbesondere die Installationshinweise.
Rotoclear CBasic ist ein Kamera-System zur Prozessüber-
wachung in medienbeaufschlagten Bereichen. Es kann
in Werkzeugmaschinen zur Überwachung des Arbeits-
raumes oder des Werkzeuges an der Spindel zum Einsatz
kommen. Das System besteht aus einem Kamerakopf und
einer HDMI-Box.
Bewahren Sie diese Betriebsanleitung am Einsatzort des
Gerätes sorgfältig auf. Die Betriebsanleitung unterliegt
dem Urheberrecht der Rotoclear GmbH.

Thank you for purchasing our product. Please pay
attention to the text and images in this manual in order to
use the product correctly. Prior to startup, be sure to read
the installation instructions.
Rotoclear C Basic is a camera system for process
monitoring in areas exposed to media. It can be employed
in machine tools for the monitoring of the working area or
the tool on the spindle. The system consists of a camera
head and a HDMI unit.
Keep this user manual securely stored at the operating
location of the equipment. This user manual is protected
by copyrights held by Rotoclear GmbH.

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung von Rotoclear
CBasic erstreckt sich auf die Anwendung in Werkzeug-
maschinen oder entsprechenden Umgebungen, in
denen Medien wie Kühlschmierstoe, Öle, Wasser, Spül-
und Reinigungsüssigkeiten eingesetzt werden. Bei der
Verwendung einer Kamera in einer solchen Umgebung
wird die Sicht durch Auftreen der vorhandenen
Medien auf Linse oder Schutzscheibe beeinträchtigt
oder behindert. Daher ist Rotoclear C Basic mit einer
rotierenden Sichtscheibe ausgestattet, um eine freie Sicht
durch die Sichtscheibe zu gewährleisten. Auftreende
Partikel oder Flüssigkeiten werden kontinuierlich nach
außen weggeschleudert. Dies setzt voraus, dass der
Kamerakopf dauerhaft in Betrieb ist, die Sperrluft anliegt,
sowie der Rotor sich für die selbstreinigende Wirkung
permanent dreht, während die Maschine eingeschaltet ist.
Der Kühlschmierstostrahl darf nicht direkt und gezielt auf
die rotierende Sichtschiebe des Kamerakopfs gerichtet
sein.
Fehlanwendung
Vermeiden Sie Fehlanwendungen indem Sie Rotoclear C
Basic nur bestimmungsgemäß in den dafür vorgesehenen
Umgebungen verwenden.
Befestigen Sie alle Komponenten, sodass sie gegen
Herunterfallen gesichert sind. Verwenden Sie den Flex-
Armhalter (Magnethalter) nur temporär zur Bestimmung
der Einbauposition.
Vermeiden Sie Kollissionen mit Elementen in der
Umgebung des Kamerakopfes, insbesondere beim
Verfahren der Maschinenachsen oder bei Arbeiten, die es
erfordern, den Maschineninnenraum zu betreten.
Montieren sie keine Dichtungsringe in die Rillen des
Rotoraußenringes vom Rotor des Kamerakopfes. Dieser
ist Teil des Dichtlabyrinths, der Rotor muss sich nach
Montage frei drehen können.
Zur Montage des Kamerakopfes an den Flex-Armhalter
muss der Steckverbinder für die Sperrluft entfernt
werden. Die Sperrluft wird an der Kabeldurchführung in
das System eingebracht.
Lesen Sie die Betriebsanleitung vor der Inbetriebnahme
und Verwendung des Systems.

Intended use
The intended use of Rotoclear C Basic includes
applications in machine tools and similar environments,
where media such as cooling lubricants, oils, water,
rinsing and cleaning uids are employed. When a camera
is used in such an environment, the view is obscured or
covered due to the existing media spraying onto the lens
or protective window. That is why Rotoclear C Basic is
equipped with a spinning window in order to ensure a clear
view through the window.
Particles or liquids that land on it are continuously ung
o. This requires that the camera head is in continuous
operation, the sealing air is present and the rotor disc
rotates constantly for the self-cleaning eect while the
machine is switched on. The stream of cooling lubricant
must not be aimed directly or targeted at the spinning
window of the camera head.
Improper use
Avoid a misuse of Rotoclear C Basic by using it only in the
intended environments.
Fasten all components so that they are secured against
falling down. Use the ex arm mount (magnetic mounting)
only temporarily to determine the installation position.
Avoid collisions with elements in the vicinity of the
camera head, especially when moving the machine axes
or performing work that requires entering the machine
interior.
Do not install sealing rings in the chamfers of the rotor
outer ring of the camera head rotor. This is part of the
sealing labyrinth and must be able to rotate freely after
assembly.
To mount the camera head on the ex arm mount, the
plug-in connection for the sealing air must be removed.
The sealing air is applied to the system at the cable gland.
Read the operating instructions before commissioning
and using the system.

The type plate is an integral element of the
equipment. Any modication of the equipment and/or
modication of the type plate or opening the housings
voids the conformity and warranty.

Kamerakopf (Abb. 1-B), einem Ausgang zum Anschluss

Kamerakopf
Der Kamerakopf wird üblicherweise im medien-
beaufschlagten Bereich installiert. Liegt die Rückseite
des Kamerakopfes mit den Anschlüssen möglicherweise
ebenfalls im Nassbereich, beachten Sie unbedingt den
Hinweis unter „Inbetriebnahme“.
Der Anschluss über die Schnittstelle zur HDMI-Box auf
der Rückseite des Kamerakopfes (Abb. 2-A). Das Kabel
(Abb. 2-A1) versorgt den Kamerakopf mit Energie und ist

Datenschutzhinweis
Der Stream von Rotoclear C Basic wird
überlicherweise auf einem Monitor dargestellt. Eine
Einsicht in den Aufnahmebereich kann somit gegeben
sein. Hierbei ist es möglich, dass Personal oder Dienst-
leistende zum Beispiel bei Wartungsarbeiten beobachtet
werden können.
Je nach Gesetzeslage des Landes, in dem Rotoclear
C Basic betrieben wird, können datenschutzrechtliche
Belange berührt werden.
Bitte prüfen Sie vor der Inbetriebnahme von
Rotoclear C Basic, ob entsprechende Maßnahmen bezüg-
lich des Datenschutzes einzuleiten sind.
Komponenten
HDMI-Box
Die HDMI-Box wird typischerweise im Schaltschrank
oder in einem geschützten, für elektronische Geräte
vorgesehenen Bereich installiert und hat daher keine
besondere Schutzklasse. Die HDMI-Box ist mit einem
Anschluss zur Stromversorgung und einer dazugehörigen
blauen Signalleuchte für das Anzeigen einer aktiven
Stromversorgung (Abb. 1-A), einer Schnittstellen für den
two USB ports (Fig. 1-D). On the rear of the HDMI unit, there

Camera head
The camera head is usually installed in the
application area. In assembly situations where the camera
head‘s connection side on its rear is unprotected and
exposed to uids, it will be necessary to refer to chapter
„Startup“.
The connection takes place via the interface to the HDMI
unit on the rear of the camera head (Fig. 2-A). The cable
(Fig. 2-A1) supplies the camera head with energy and is

Data protection notice
The stream from Rotoclear C Basic is usually
displayed on a monitor. This means that it may be possible
to view the recording area. This may mean that sta or
service providers could be observed, for example during
maintenance work.
Depending on the laws of the country in which the camera
system is being operated, this may touch on aspects
related to data protection.
Before putting Rotoclear C Basic into operation,
please verify whether any corresponding measures
related to data protection need to be taken.
Components
HDMI unit
The HDMI unit is typically installed in the control cabinet
or in a protected area meant for electronic devices, and
hence does not have a particular protection class. The
unit is equipped with a power connection (Fig. 1-A) with a
blue signal light arranged below showing the status of the
power supply, one interface for the camera head (Fig. 1- B),
an output for connecting an HDMI monitor (Fig. 1- C) and

für Steuersignale sowie Datenübertragung mit sehr hoher
Bandbreite ausgelegt. Achten Sie daher beim Verlegen
der Kabel, dass keine Störsignale wie z.B. durch parallel
verlegte, wechselstromführende und unzureichend
geschirmte Stromkabel eingebracht werden. (Abb. 2-H)
kennzeichnet den Anschluss für eine Erdung. Beachten
Sie unbedingt den Hinweis unter „Inbetriebnahme“.
Am Steckverbinder (Abb. 2-B) wird der Kamerakopf mit
Sperrluft versorgt, sodass der Bereich zwischen Sicht-
scheibe und Abdeckung frei von den Medien in der
Umgebung bleibt.
Die Sperrluftleitung (Abb. 2-B1) hat einen Durchmesser
von 6 mm.
Bei falscher Einstellung, Verunreinigung der Sperr-
luft oder bei Beschädigung der rotierenden Sichtscheibe
kann Flüssigkeit den Bereich zwischen Rotor und Stator
verunreinigen und die Sicht des Kamerakopfes behindern
mit der Folge, dass Gewährleistungsansprüche verfallen.
Im Lieferumfang bendet sich eine Abdeckkappe,
mit der die Front des Kamerakopfes im Schadensfall
temporär abgedeckt werden muss, sofern die Maschine
bis zur Instandsetzung in Betrieb genommen werden soll.
Deaktivieren Sie bei Verwendung der Schutzkappe die
Sperrluft.
Auf der Vorderseite bendet sich der Rotor (Abb. 2-C), der
mit der Zentrumsschraube (Abb. 2-G) an der Motorwelle
befestigt ist, darunterliegend die LED-Beleuchtung (Abb.
2-D). Zwischen den LED-Modulen bendet sich, durch die
Schutzscheibe geschützt, das Objektiv (Abb. 2-E).
Gegenüberliegend kann je nach Modell und Ausstattungs-
variante ein weiteres Objektiv verbaut sein. Im
Zusammenhang mit dem Rotoclear C Basic entspricht
diese Ausstattungsvariante einem Kamerakopf mit dem
Fokus F1. Durch die Bohrung (Abb. 2-F) wird die Sperrluft
in den Rotorzwischenraum geführt. Diese Bohrung muss
freiliegend sein und darf weder abgedeckt noch ander-
weitig verschlossen sein.
Das Gerät darf nicht dauerhaft vollständig oder teilweise
unter Wasser oder Kühlschmiersto betrieben werden.
Sollte Flüssigkeit in das Gerät eindringen, überprüfen Sie
bitte die Installationsparameter.
Verwenden Sie Rotoclear C Basic ausschließ-
lich bestimmungsgemäß. Rotoclear übernimmt keinerlei
Haftung bei einer anderen, als der bestimmungsgemäßen
Verwendung.

very high bandwidth. Hence, when laying the cables,
ensure that no interfering signals are introduced, e.g. due
to power cables that are laid in parallel, carrying alternating
current and insuciently shielded. The camera head
has a ground connection point (Fig. 2-H). For the ground
connection, it will be necessary to refer to the chapter
„Startup“.
At the plug connector (Fig. 2-B), the camera head is
supplied with sealing air so that the area between the
window and the cover is kept free of the media in the
environment.
The Sealing air tube (Fig. 2-B1) has a diameter of 6 mm.
In the event of incorrect conguration,
contamination of the purge air, or if the spinning window
is damaged, liquid might contaminate the area between
rotor and stator and obscure the camera head‘s view and
will invalidate the warranty.
Included in the scope of delivery is a covering cap.
Use it to cover the front of the camera head temporarily
in the event of damage if the machine is to be put into
operation before it is repaired. When the covering cap is in
use, deactivate the sealing air.
The rotor (Fig. 2-C) is on the front, which is axed via a
centre screw (Fig. 2-G) to the motor shaft, under which the
LED lighting (Fig. 2-D) is located. Located between the LED
modules is the lens (Fig. 2-E), which is protected by the
protective window.
On the opposite side, a second lens may be installed
depending on the model and conguration variant. In
connection with the Rotoclear C Basic, this equipment
variant corresponds to a camera head with focus F1. The
sealing air is fed through the drill hole (Fig. 2-F) into the
intervening rotor space. This drill hole must be kept free
and must not be covered or closed in any way.
The device must not be operated constantly under water
or cooling lubricant, neither completely nor partially. If
liquid enters the device, please check the installation para-
meters.
Use Rotoclear CBasic only as intended. Rotoclear
shall not be liable for any use that is not as intended.

Lieferumfang
Der Kamerakopf ist auf eine denierte Fokuslage vorein-
gestellt. Es sind Fokuslagen für den Nahbereich bzw. die
Spindel mit Schärfebereich von 200-500 mm, sowie für
den Fernbereich von 500-6.000 mm verfügbar.
Das Produkt Rotoclear C Basic wird in einer stoß-
geschützten, umweltfreundlichen Verpackung geliefert.
Prüfen Sie nach Erhalt der Ware den Inhalt auf Voll-
ständigkeit und Unversehrtheit. Verwenden Sie für einen
Rücktransport ausschließlich die Originalverpackung
und demontieren Sie den Rotor! Beachten Sie das Kapitel
„Störbeseitigung“.

Scope of supply
The camera head is precongured to a dened focus
position. Focus positions for close ranges and/or spindles
with a focus range of 200-500 mm are available, as well as
for far ranges from 500-6,000 mm.
The Rotoclear C Basic product is supplied in a shock-
protected, environmentally friendly packaging.
Upon receiving the product, please check that its contents
are complete and undamaged. For return transport, use
only the original packaging and dismantle the rotor! Please
observe chapter

Vorbereitung der Teile
Entnehmen Sie das Kamera-System der
Verpackung. Achten Sie beim Auspacken unbedingt auf
Sauberkeit. Bewahren Sie alle Teile auf einer sauberen,
weichen Unterlage oder in der Originalverpackung auf.
Gehen Sie vorsichtig mit dem Produkt um. Berühren Sie
weder die Objektivabdeckung des Kamerakopfes (E,
Abbildung 2) noch das Sicherheitsglas des Rotors, um
uneingeschränkte Sichtbedingungen zu gewährleisten.
Der Kamerakopf, insbesondere die glasbedekte
Frontseite, darf keiner Stoßbelastung ausgesetzt werden,
da sonst die Lagereinheit, der Rotor oder andere Teile
beschädigt werden können.
Der Kamerakopf ist mit einer Kunststokappe abgedeckt.
Nehmen Sie die Kappe ab und bewahren Sie diese an
einem sicheren Ort auf, sodass Sie im Schadensfall schnell
verfügbar ist um den Kamerakopf damit wieder abdecken
zu können und so vor Beschädigung zu schützen.
Rotormontage
Nehmen Sie den Rotor aus der Verpackung und setzen
diesen auf dem Zentrumsansch des Kamerakopfes auf.
Halten Sie den Rotor vorsichtig mit der Hand fest und
ziehen Sie die Schraube mit einem Drehmoment von
0,6Nm an. Arretieren Sie keinesfalls den Rotor mit einem
spitzen Gegenstand wie beispielsweise einem Schrauben-
zieher. Zum Abnehmen des Rotors kann der mitgelieferte
Saugnapf verwendet werden.

Preparing the parts
Remove the camera system from the packaging.
When unpacking, pay attention to cleanliness. Store all
parts on a clean, shock-absorbing surface or in the original
packaging. Handle the product with care. Do not touch the
lens cover of the camera head (E, Figure 2) or the safety
glass of the rotor to ensure unimpeded viewing conditions.
Do not subject the camera head, especially the
glass-covered front to shock loads, as this may damage
the bearing unit, rotor or other parts.
The camera head is covered by a plastic cap. Remove the
cap and keep it in a safe place where it is readily available
for covering the camera head in the event of damage,
thereby protecting it from further damage.
Rotor assembly
Remove the rotor from its packaging and place it on the
centre ange of the camera head. Carefully hold the rotor
in place using your hand and tighten the screw using a
torque of 0,6 Nm. Never lock the rotor in place using a
sharp object, such as a screwdriver. To remove the rotor,
use the suction cup provided.

Montage Standardkomponenten
Vor Beginn der Installationsarbeiten muss sicher-
gestellt werden, dass die Maschine von befähigtem
Fachpersonal ausgeschaltet und sicher gegen Wiederein-
schalten abgesichert wurde. Bei Zuwiderhandlung besteht
Verletzungsgefahr.
Bei Tätigkeiten im Arbeitsbereich der Werkzeug-
maschine besteht gegebenenfalls Verletzungsgefahr
durch rutschige Oberächen und scharfe Kanten in der
Werkzeugmaschine. Tragen Sie geeignete Schutzaus-
rüstung.
Stellen Sie vor Beginn der Arbeit sicher, dass anzu-
schließende Druckluftkomponenten ausgeschaltet sind
und machen Sie das System drucklos. Bei Zuwider-
handlung besteht Verletzungsgefahr.
Die Montage des Kamerakopfes kann auf unterschied-
liche Weise vorgenommen werden. Achten Sie darauf,
dass Sie den Kamerakopf so einbauen, dass Wärme über
eine metallische, wärmeleitende Oberäche ausreichend
abgeführt werden kann. Eine Installation in eine Blech-
wand ist hierfür ausreichend.
Die Gewinde sitzen in einer Achse mit den Positionen
der Kameraoptik(en) (Abb. 3-E1, je nach Ausstattung
Abb. 3-E2). Für eine Ausgabe im Querformat müssen
die Schraubpositionen (Abb. 3-C) auf einer Horizontalen
liegen. Für Hochformat entsprechend auf einer Vertikalen.
Befestigung des Kamerakopfs
Neben dem optional erhältlichen Befestigungszubehör
(siehe auch Abschnitt „Flex-Armhalter“, „Kugelhalterung“
und „Spindelmontage“) kann der Kamerakopf nach
individuellen Wünschen befestigt werden.
Um den Durchbruch in der Gehäusewand abzudichten,
Der Kamerakopf ist, je nach Variante auf eine bestimmte
Fokuslage voreingestellt. Entnehmen Sie die Fokus-
lage dem Typenschild des Kamerakopfs. Die Fokuslage
kann aufgrund der Abdichtung gegenüber Medien,
insbesondere bei Versagen des Rotors durch
Beschädigung durch abgebrochene Werkzeug- oder
Werkstückteile nachträglich nicht eigenständig verändert
werden.
Der Rotor muss sich frei drehen können, die
Abdichtung erfolgt durch die Sperrluft. Montieren Sie
daher keinesfalls beiliegende Dichtungsringe im Labyrinth
des Rotoraußenringes! Diese sind für die Abdichtung an
den Haltern vorgesehen. Dadurch wird die Funktion beein-
trächtigt und das System kann beschädigt werden.
Bei Einstellbedarf wenden Sie sich bitte an den
Hersteller. Jeglicher Versuch, das Gehäuse des Kamera-
kopfes zu önen um die Fokuslage selbst einzustellen
geht mit dem Verlust der Gewährleistung einher.
Installation of standard components
Before beginning the installation work, it must be
ensured that the machine is switched o by qualied
specialist personnel and properly secured against being
switched back on. Failure to observe this will result in a risk
of injury.
When performing tasks in the working area of the
machine tool, there may be a risk of injury from slippery
surfaces and sharp edges. Wear suitable protective equip-
ment.
Before beginning work, ensure that compressed air
components to be connected are switched o and ensure
that the system is completely depressurised. Failure to
observe this will result in a risk of injury.
The assembly of the camera head can be performed in
various ways. Ensure that you install the camera head such
that heat can be adequately dissipated by a metallic, heat-
conducting surface. Installation in a sheet metal panel is
sucient for this purpose.
The screw threads are located in a line with the positions
of the camera lens(es) (Fig. 3-E1, or depending on
conguration Fig. 3-E2). For output in landscape format,
the screw positions (Fig. 3-C) must be located along a
horizontal line. For portrait format, they must be along a
vertical line.
Mounting the camera head
In addition to the optionally available mounting
accessories (also see the sections „Flex arm mount“,
„Ball mount“ and „Spindle mounting“), the camera head
can be mounted according to individual requirements.
To seal the opening in the housing wall, insert the sealing
Depending on the specic variant, the camera head is
precongured for a particular focus position. Please
refer to the nameplate of the camera head for the focus
position. The focus position can only be changed by the
manufacturer later on because it is sealed to keep out
media, particularly if the rotor fails due to damage from
broken tool or workpiece parts.
The rotor must be able to rotate freely; sealing is
achieved by the sealing air. Therefore, do not install the
enclosed sealing rings in the labyrinth of the rotor outer
ring under any circumstances! These are intended for
sealing at the holders. This will impair the function and the
system may be damaged.
If adjustment of the focus is required, please
contact the manufacturer. Any attempt to open the
housing of the camera head in order to adjust the focus
position yourself will invalidate the warranty.

Das an die Schnittstelle (Abb. 3-A) angeschlossene Kabel
sowie die Sperrluftleitung (Abb. 3-B) können oen im
medienbeaufschlagten Raum liegen, sofern sie durch
Beschuss von Spänen oder anderen scharfkantigen Teilen
geschützt sind.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass das System stromlos
geschaltet ist. Schließen Sie das Datenkabel mit dem
Stecker an die entsprechende Schnittstelle (Abb. 3-A) auf
der Rückseite fest an, sodass der Stecker dicht abschließt.
Verbinden Sie den Steckverbinder mit Ihrer Druckluftver-
sorgung (Abb. 3-B).
Beachten Sie bei der Installation des Kamerakopfs die
Sicherheitsbestimmungen, u.a. die Erdung sowie die
optionale Verwendung des Pigtailkabels für den Fall eines
Einsatzes in Nassräumen, s. Kapitel Inbetriebnahme.
HDMI-Box
Die HDMI-Box wird typischerweise im Schaltschrank

As described above, two M4 threads (Fig. 3-C) are provided
on the back of the housing as a mounting interface.
For mounting, use the two M4 threads (Fig. 3-C) on the
rear side at a distance of 51 mm.
The screw-in depth may be max. 4 mm, the
tightening torque max. 1.5 Nm.
The cable connected to the interface (Fig. 3-A) as well
as the sealing air tube (Fig. 3-B) can be left open in the
space exposed to media, provided that they are protected
against shavings or other sharp-edged parts.
Make sure that the system is disconnected from
the power supply. Connect the data cable rmly with
the plug to the corresponding interface (Fig. 3-A) on
the rear, such that the plug closes tightly. Connect the
plug connector to your compressed air supply (Fig. 3-B).
When installing the camera head, please observe the
safety regulations, including the grounding and the
optional use of the pigtail cable for use in wet rooms, see
the chapter Startup.
HDMI unit
The HDMI unit is typically installed on a top hat rail
according to DIN EN 60715 in the control cabinet or in a

vorgesehenen Bereich, an einer Hutschiene nach
DIN EN 60715 installiert. Bitte beachten Sie, dass die
HDMI-Box mit der Schutzart IP30 unter Anderem nicht
gegen das Eindringen von Flüssigkeiten geschützt ist.
Zur Hutschienenmontage können Sie den vormontierten
Hutschienenclip verwenden. Dieser lässt sich in 90°
Schritten gedreht am Gehäuse der HDMI-Box befestigen.
Somit können Sie die HDMI-Box in gewünschter
Position anbringen. Hängen Sie die obere Lasche des
Hutschienenclips an die obere Kante der Hutschiene
(Abb. 4-1). Drücken Sie die HDMI-Box leicht nach unten,
sodass das Federelement des Clips an der unteren Kante
einrastet (Abb. 4-2).
Zum Entfernen der HDMI-Box nutzen Sie einen
Schraubenzieher und ziehen die Lasche des Clips leicht
nach unten. Das Gerät kann nun leicht nach oben bewegt
und ausgehängt werden.
Önen Sie das Gehäuse der HDMI-Box nicht, da
sonst die Gewährleistungsansprüche verfallen.
Optimierungen durch den Hersteller
Das Produkt unterliegt einem kontinuierlichen
Optimierungsprozess. Nach Ermessen des Herstellers
können Änderungen an Geometrie, Anschlüssen und
Schnittstellen vorgenommen werden, die nicht das
grundsätzliche Konzept des Produktes verändern. Der
Hersteller verpichtet sich nicht, über nichtfunktionelle
Anpassungen am Produkt aktiv zu informieren.
Montage Zuleitungen
Führen Sie das Datenkabel (Abb. 2-B1) vom Kamerakopf
bzw. vom Adapter des Halters in den Schaltschrank bzw.
an den Installationsort der HDMI-Box. Achten Sie dabei
auf sachgemäße Abdichtung an den Durchführungen von
medienbeaufschlagten Bereichen in geschützte Bereiche
bzw. in den Schaltschrank.
Verbinden Sie das Kabel mit der Schnittstelle für den
Kamerakopf mit der Aufschrift „Camera“.
Achten Sie beim Verlegen des Kabels darauf, dass keine
Störsignale von benachbarten Stromkabeln die Über-
tragung beeinträchtigen. Wir empfehlen die Verwendung
des mitgelieferten Kabels.
Bitte stellen Sie unbedingt die Trockenheit und
Sauberkeit sowie die korrekte Einstellung der zugeführten
Sperrluft sicher. Der Kamerakopf ist mit einem Drucksensor
ausgestattet. Dieser hilft bei der korrekten Einstellung der
Sperrluft und überwacht diese dauerhaft. Eine fehler-
hafte Einstellung oder eine Beschädigung des Systems
wird detektiert und eine Warnung in der Bedienoberäche
angezeigt. Wir raten davon ab, den Kamerakopf nach oben
auszurichten, da bei fehlerhafter Sperrluftversorgung oder
auftreender Flüssigkeit bei ausgeschalteter Maschine
Medien leichter in das Labyrinth eindringen können.

For top-hat rail mounting, you can use the pre-mounted
top-hat rail clip. It can be rotated in steps of 90° and axed
to the HDMI unit housing. This allows you to attach the
HDMI unit in the desired position. Hang the upper ange
of the top-hat rail clip on the upper edge of the top-hat
rail (Fig. 4-1). Gently press the HDMI unit downwards, such
that the spring element of the clip snaps into place at the
bottom edge (Fig. 4-2).
To remove the HDMI unit, use a screwdriver and gently
pull the ange of the clip downwards. The device can now
easily be moved upwards and removed.
Do not open the housing of the HDMI unit, as this
will void all warranty claims.
Optimisations by the manufacturer
The product is subject to a continuous optimisation
process. At the manufacturer‘s discretion, changes can
be made to geometry, connections and interfaces that
do not change the basic concept of the product. The
manufacturer is not obliged to actively inform about non-
functional adjustments to the product.
Installation of supply lines
Lay the data cable (Fig. 2-B1) from the camera head and/
or the adapter of the mount into the control cabinet and/
or to the installation site of the HDMI unit. When doing
so, ensure proper sealing at the transitions from areas
exposed to media into protected areas and/or into the
control cabinet.
Connect the cable to the interface for the camera head
with the label „Camera“.
When laying the cable, ensure that no interfering signals
from neighbouring power cables can disrupt the trans-
mission. We recommend to use the cable provided.
Please ensure the dryness and cleanliness as well
as the correct conguration of the sealing air supplied.
The camera head is equipped with a pressure sensor.
It helps with the correct conguration of the sealing air
and monitors it constantly. An incorrect conguration or
damage to the system is detected and a warning displayed
in the user interface. It is not recommendable to orientate
the camera head upwards due to the risk of uids entering
the labyrinth sealing in the case of insucient air purge or
uids occurring while the machine is switched o.

Bei Beschädigung des Rotors beachten Sie bitte das
Kapitel „Rotorwechsel“. Durch verunreinigte oder fehlende
Sperrluft hervorgerufene Undichtigkeit beeinträchtigen
die Sicht und die Funktionsweise von Rotoclear C Basic
Sollte es erforderlich sein, bereiten Sie die Sperrluft mit
einer Wartungseinheit mit mehrstugem Filtersystem auf.
Beachten Sie die Anforderungen an die Sperrluft, die im
Kapitel „Technische Daten“ im Anhang genannt sind.
Sowohl der Kamerakopf als auch die HDMI-Box
besitzen einen Anschluss für die Erdung (Abb. 2-H bzw.
Abb. 4-A). Sollte eine Erdung des System gemäß gültiger
Normen (wie z.B. IEC 60204-1:2019-06) in Ihrer Einbau-
situation erforderlich sein, verbinden Sie die HDMI-Box
über ein Erdungskabel mit dem Schutzleiter. Achten Sie
unbedigt darauf, alle Geräte an den selben Schutzleiter
anzuschließen.
Montage Signalverstärker (Zubehör)
Die Länge des Datenkabels, das den Kamerakopf und
den Steuerrechner verbindet, ist auf die Länge von 20 m
beschränkt (siehe Kapitel „Technische Daten“ im Anhang).
Mit dem Signalverstärker Rotoclear C-Extender (Abb. 5-A)
ist es möglich, diese Länge zu erweitern. Es können bis
zu zwei Signalverstärker pro Kamerakopf in der Zuleitung
verwendet werden. Jedes dieser Geräte addiert die ohne
Signalverstärker maximal mögliche Kabellänge hinzu: mit
einem Signalverstärker ergibt sich die maximal mögliche
Länge 2 × 20 m, mit zwei Signalverstärkern die maximal
mögliche Länge 3× 20 m.
Achten Sie auf die Ausrichtung entsprechend der
gekennzeichneten Stecker. Das Datenkabel (Abb. 5-B),
das an die mit „Camera“ beschriftete Seite (Abb. 5-C)
angeschlossen wird, muss in Richtung Kamerakopf zeigen.
Die mit „ControlUnit“ (Abb. 5-D) beschriftete Seite muss in
Richtung HDMI-Box zeigen.
Die Elektronik des Signalverstärkers ist gegen
einen Einbau in verkehrter Ausrichtung geschützt. Der
Kamerakopf wird in diesem Fall vom System allerdings
nicht erkannt.
Der Signalverstärker ist HotPlug-fähig und kann
während des Betriebs an- und abgesteckt werden.

If the rotor disk is damaged, please refer to the chapter
„Changing the rotor“. Leaks due to contaminated or
insucient sealing air will impair the sight and the
functioning of Rotoclear C Basic. If necessary, pre-treat
the sealing air using a service unit with a multi-stage lter
system. Pay attention to the requirements for the sealing
air which are indicated in the chapter „Technical data“ in
the appendix.
Both the camera head and the HDMI unit have
a connection for grounding (Fig. 2-H resp. Fig. 4-A).
If grounding of the system according to applicable
standards (such as IEC 60204-1:2019-06) is required in
your installation situation, connect the HDMI unit to the
grounding conductor using a grounding cable. Make
absolutely sure that all devices are connected to the same
protective earth conductor.
Installation of signal amplier
(accessory)
The length of the data cable connecting the camera head
and the HDMI unit is limited to the length of 20 m (see
chapter „Technical Data“ in the appendix).
With the signal amplier Rotoclear C-Extender (g. 5-A) it
is possible to extend this length. Up to two signal ampliers
per camera head can be used in the feed line. Each of
these adds to the maximum possible cable length without
a signal amplier: with one signal amplier the maximum
possible length is 2 × 20 m, with two signal ampliers the
maximum possible length is 3 × 20 m.
Pay attention to the alignment according to the
marked plugs. The data cable (g. 5-B) connected to the
side labelled „Camera“ (g. 5-C) must point towards the
camera head. The side labelled „Control Unit“ (Fig. 5-D)
must point towards the HDMI unit.
The electronics of the signal amplier are protected
against installation in the wrong orientation. In this case,
however, the camera head is not recognised by the
system.
The signal amplier is hot-pluggable and can be
connected and disconnected during operation.

Montage Halterungen (Zubehör)
Es sind mehrere Halter für die Installation des Kamera-
kopfes im Maschineninnenraum als optionales Zubehör
verfügbar.
• Der Flex-Armhalter (Blecheinbau) (Abb. 6-A) eignet
sich am besten für die Installation in eine Blechwand
mit direkter Durchführung der Kabel.
• Der Flex-Armhalter (Vorwandmontage) (Abb. 6-B)
lässt sich exibel an Blechwände oder in Vollmaterial
montieren, auch dort wo keine direkte Kabeldurch-
führung durch die Gehäusewandung möglich ist.
• Der Flex-Armhalter (Magnethalter) (Abb. 6-C) eignet
sich für einfache und schnelle Montage ohne Modi-
kation an der Werkzeugmaschine, insbesondere für
Tests bzw. die Auswahl des geeigneten Einbauorts. Für
dauerhafte Installation wird die Montage empfohlen.
In den Standardversion sind bei allen Varianten des Flex-
Armhalters ± 40° Neigung (± 20° pro Gelenk) möglich. Es
sind Verlängerungsstücke verfügbar, die jeweils zusätz-
liche ± 20° Neigung ermöglichen.
• Der Kugelkopfhalter (Abb. 6-D, Abbildung ohne
Werkzeug und ohne Gegenhalter) ist für den Einbau
in eine Blechwand vorgesehen. Aufgrund der achen
und spanabweisenden Konturen neigt dieser Halter
zu vergleichsweise geringer Spänenesterbildung. Der
Halter ist nur mit Kameraköpfen mit Kugelgehäuse
kompatibel. Die maximale Neigung beträgt ± 20° zur
Bohrungsachse. Der Kamerakopf ist mit Ausrichtung
von 0–360° gedreht einbaubar.

There are M18×1.0 male threads on the connectors,
which can be used for mounting with the separately
available holder.
The mount is equipped with two M6 threads. M4 as
well as M6 screws (g. 5-E) are included for front or rear
installation of the holder.
Installation of mounts (accessory)
Several mounts for installing the camera head in the
internal chamber of the machine are available as optional
accessories.
• The ex arm mount (trough-wall mounting) (Fig. 6-A) is
ideal for installation in a sheet metal wall with a direct
cable feed-through.
• The ex arm mount (pre-wall mounting) (Fig. 6-B) can
be exibly mounted on sheet metal walls or in solid
materials, even in places where a direct cable feed-
through through the housing wall is not possible.
• The ex arm mount (magnetic mounting) (Fig. 6-C)
is ideal for simple and quick mounting without
modication to the machine tool, in particular for
tests or selecting a suitable installation location. For
permanent installation, mounting is recommended.
In the standard versions, an inclination of ± 40° (± 20°
per joint) is possible for all variants of the ex arm mount.
Extension pieces are available, each of which allows an
additional inclination of ± 20°.
• The ball head mount (Fig. 6-D, shown without tool and
without counterholder) is designed for installation in a
sheet metal wall. Thanks to its at and chip-repellent
contours, comparatively few chip nests occur when
using this mount. This mount is only compatible with
camera heads with a ball housing. The maximum
inclination is ± 20° to the axis of the drill hole. The
camera head can be installed with a rotation ranging
from 0–360°.

Zur Montage des Kamerakopfes an die Aufnahme
des Flex-Armhalters (Abb. 7-B) muss der Steckver-
binder für die Sperrluft (Abb. 7-A) auf der Rückseite des
Kamerakopfes entfernt werden. Dieser besitzt einen
innenliegenden Sechskantantrieb. Die Sperrluftleitung
(Abb. 7-D) wird bei allen Versionen des Flex-Armhalters in
die 6mm Bohrung der Dichtung in der Kabeldurchführung
(Abb. 7-C) eingesteckt und durch Verschrauben der Kabel-
durchführung festgeklemmt. Die Sperrluft strömt durch
den gesamten Flex-Armhalter in den Kamerakopf.
Schließen Sie das Datenkabel (Abb. 8-B) an den M12
Anschluss an. Führen Sie das lose Ende durch den Halter
(Abb. 8-C) und setzen den Kamerakopf auf die Aufnahme.
Zuvor legen Sie den Dichtungsring (Abb. 8-D) in die dafür
vorgesehene Nut ein. Schrauben Sie den Kamerakopf
mit den beiliegenden M4 Schrauben (Abb. 8-E1) und den
zugehörigen Usit-Ringen (Abb. 8-E2) fest.
Zur Ausrichtung können Sie die Muttern an den Gelenken
lösen.
Achten Sie darauf, dass alle Verbindungen fest-
gezogen sind, da die Dichtheit des Systems gegen das
Eindringen von Kühlschmiersto davon abhängig ist.
Andernfalls kann der Kamerakopf irreversibel beschädigt
werden. Das Anzugsdrehmoment beträgt 5Nm.
Flex-Armhalter (Blecheinbau)
Für den Einbau muss an geeigneter Stelle ein runder
Ausschnitt zur Durchführung eines M32× 1.5 eingebracht
werden.
Führen Sie das Datenkabel (Abb. 8-B) durch die Bohrung
und setzen den Halter (Abb. 8-C) mit eingelegter Dichtung
(Abb. 8-F) auf.
Von der Gegenseiten die Metallteile der Kabeldurch-
führung (Abb. 8-G1, G2) auf das Datenkabel aufschieben.
Schrauben Sie nun das Gehäuse (Abb. 8-G2) der Kabel-
durchführung in den von der Gegenseite aufgesetzten

For mounting the camera head to the holder of the
ex arm holder (Fig. 7-B), the plug-in connection for the
sealing air (Fig. 7-A) on the rear of the camera head will
need to be removed. It is outtted with an internal hexagon
drive. The sealing air tube (Fig. 7-D) is inserted into the 6
mm hole of the seal in the cable gland on all versions of
the Flex arm holder and clamped in place by screwing the
cable gland (Fig. 7-C). The sealing air ows through the
entire ex arm mount into the camera head.
Connect the data cable (Fig. 8-B) to the M12 connector.
Feed the loose end through the mount (Fig. 8-C) and place
the camera head on the mount. Before doing this, insert
the sealing ring (Fig. 8-D) into the groove provided. Screw
the camera head in place using the enclosed M4 screws
(Fig. 8-E1) and the corresponding Usit rings (Fig. 8-E2).
You may loosen the nuts on the joints to perform align-
ment.
Ensure that all connections have been tightened,
as this protects the system against leaks and the ingress
of cooling lubricant. Failure to ensure this may cause
irreparable damage to the camera head. The tightening
torque is 5Nm.
Flex arm mount (through-wall mounting)
For installation, a round hole must be drilled at a suitable
location for the insertion of an M32 × 1.5.
Feed the data cable (Fig. 8-B) through the hole and t the

Bringen Sie die Dichtung (Abb. 8-G3) zwischen den
Metallteilen auf das Datenkabel auf. Achten Sie darauf die
entsprechende Bohrung zum Kabeldurchmesser auszu-
wählen.
Schrauben Sie die Kabeldurchführung zusammen. Bevor
sie festgezogen wird, legen Sie die Blindstopfen in die
beiden anderen Bohrungen, sowie die Sperrluftleitung
(Abb. 8-H) in die 6 mm Bohrung ein.
Flex-Armhalter (Vorwandmontage)
Es gibt mehrere Möglichkeiten den Flex-Armhalter
(Vorwandmontage) zu befestigen:
1. in Blech: Führen Sie von der Rückseite des Blechs die
M6 Schrauben (Abb. 9-A) hindurch und setzen den
M6 Usit-Ring (Abb. 9-B) auf. Schrauben Sie damit den
Adapter fest.
2. In Vollmaterial mit M5 Gewinde: Führen Sie hierzu die
M5 × 20 Schrauben (Abb. 9-C) mit aufgesetztem M5
Usit-Ring (Abb. 9-D) von der Innenseite des Adapters
ein und schrauben Sie ihn an dem aufnehmenden Teil
mit vorbereiteten M5 Gewinden fest.
3. Für weitere Montagearten stehen M5 Gewinde
auf der Rückseite zur Verfügung, siehe Abbildung.
Schließen Sie hierfür die Bohrungen auf der Rück-
seite des Adapters mit der M6 Schraube (Abb. 9-E)
mit aufgesetztem M6 Usit-Ring (Abb. 9-B) wie in 1.
beschrieben von der Innenseite luftdicht ab.

Führen Sie nun das Datenkabel durch den Adapter von
der angewinkelten Seite aus durch und schrauben Sie
den Gelenkteil des Halters auf den Adapter auf. Dichten
Sie die Verschraubung mit dem beiliegenden Dichtungs-
ring fachgerecht ab. Montieren Sie auf der achen
Seite die Kabeldurchführung wie im vorhergehenden
Abschnitt beschrieben. Dichten Sie die nicht verwendeten
Bohrungen für andere Kabelvarianten mit den Bolzen
ab und schließen Sie die Sperrluftleitung an der 6 mm
Bohrung an. Alternativ kann zwischen Kabeldurchführung
und Adapter auch ein Schutzschlauch montiert werden.
Für die Durchführung der Kabel durch die Maschinenwand
sind die Kabeldurchführungen separat erhältlich.
Fit the seal (Fig. 8-G3) between the metal parts over the
data cable. Be sure to select the corresponding hole size
for the cable diameter.
Screw the cable bushing together. Before it is tightened,
insert the dummy plugs into the other two holes and the
sealing air tube (Fig. 8-H) into the 6 mm hole.
Flex arm mount (pre-wall mounting)
There are several options for xing the ex arm mount
(pre-wall mounting) in place:
1. In sheet metal: Insert the M6 screws through the sheet
metal from the rear (Fig. 9-A) and t the M6 Usit ring
(Fig. 9-B) over them. Use it to screw the adapter in
place.
2. In solid material with M5 thread: In this case, insert the
M5 × 20 screws (Fig. 9-C) with the M5 Usit ring (Fig.
9-D) tted from the inside of the adapter and screw it to
the receiving part via the prepared M5 threads.
3. M5 threads are available on the rear for other types
of mounting, see Figure. For this purpose, seal the
holes on the rear of the adapter from the inside using
the M6 screw (Fig. 9-E) with the M6 Usit ring (Fig. 9-B)
attached, as described in 1, making sure that they are
airtight.

Now feed the data cable through the adapter from the
angled side and screw the jointed section of the mount
onto the adapter. Use the enclosed sealing ring to properly
seal the screw connection. On the at side, mount the
cable bushing as described in the previous section.
Seal the unused holes for other cable variants using the
bolts and connect the sealing air tube to the 6 mm hole.
Alternatively, a protective hose can also be mounted
between the cable bushing and the adapter. Cable
bushings are available separately for feeding the cables
through the machine wall.

Flex-Armhalter (Magnethalter)
Alternativ lässt sich an den Adapter auch ein Schuh mit
zwei Rundmagneten anschrauben. Dies ermöglicht
einen exiblen und einfachen, bzw. temporären Einbau,
beispielsweise für Testzwecke. Wie im vorgehenden
Abschnitt unter Punkt 3. beschrieben, muss der Adapter
mittels der M6 Schrauben luftdicht abgeschlossen
werden.
(( )) Beachten Sie, dass die verwendeten Neodym-
magnete sehr starke Kräfte entwickeln können. Gegenpole
ziehen sich an und können zusammen schlagen. Es besteht
die Gefahr von Verletzungen z.B. durch Einklemmen von
Fingern. Tragen Sie geeignete Schutzausrüstung wie z.B.
Handschuhe.
Achten Sie auf die magnetischen Kräfte, wenn Sie eine
medizinische Kreislaufunterstützung implantiert haben.
Halten Sie die Bauteile nicht unmittelbar vor Ihren Körper.
Halten Sie einen Abstand zwischen Implantat und Magnet-
schuh von mindestens 20 cm ein.
Schutzschlauch
Für die Flex-Armhaltervarianten (Abb. 10-A) Vorwand-
montage und Magnethalter ist ein Schutzschlauch
verfügbar, um Datenkabel und Sperrluftleitung im
Maschineninnenraum vor Späne und Kühlschmierstoen
geschützt führen zu können.
Der Schutzschlauch ist nicht zu 100% gegen
Eindringen von Kühlschmierstoen oder Ölen geschützt.
Vorwiegend schützt dieser die innenliegenden Leitungen
vor mechanischer Beschädigung.
Der Schutzschlauch kann auch mit dem Flex-Armhalter
Blecheinbau kombiniert werden, jedoch ist bei diesem
Halter vorgesehen, dass die Kabel an direkt durch die
Blechwand in einen geschützen Bereich geführt werden.
Wird der Schutzschlauch mit dem Flex-Armhalter
(Magnethalter) für temporären Einbau kombiniert, so ist
darauf zu achten, den Schutzschlauch geeignet zu führen
und so zu befestigen, dass der sichere Halt des Kamera-
kopfes gewährleistet ist.
Zur Montage wird der Halter wie oben beschrieben in
Betrieb genommen. Anstelle der Mutter (Abb. 10-B)
der Kabelverschraubung wird die Seite des Schutz-

Alternatively, a saddle with two round magnets can also be
screwed onto the adapter. This allows for easy and exible
and/or temporary installation, e.g. for testing purposes.
As described under point 3 of the previous section, the
adapter must be sealed in an airtight fashion using the M6
screws.
(( )) Please note that extremely powerful forces may
result from the neodymium magnets used. Opposing
poles attract and can strike each other. There is a risk
of injury, e.g. of ngers getting clamped. Wear suitable
protective equipment, such as gloves.
Pay attention to the magnetic forces if you have
medical circulatory support implanted. Do not hold the
components directly in front of your body. Keep a minimum
distance of 20 cm between the implant and the magnetic
saddle.
Protective hose
A protective hose is available for the ex arm mount
variants (Fig. 10-A) pre-wall mounting and magnetic
mounting in order to be able to route the data cable and
sealing air line in the machine interior protected from chips
and cooling lubricants.
The protective hose is not 100% protected against
the penetration of cooling lubricants or oils. It mainly
protects the internal lines from mechanical damage.
The protective hose can also be combined with the Flex
arm mount for through-wall mounting, however, for this
mount it is intended that the cables are routed directly
through the sheet metal wall into a protected area.
If the protective hose is combined with the
ex arm mount (magnetic mounting) for temporary
installation, make sure that the protective conduit is routed
appropriately and fastened in such a way that the camera
head is held securely.
For installation, the mount is put into operation as
described above. Instead of the nut (g. 10-B) of the cable
gland, the side of the protective hose with hose gland (g.

schlauches mit Schlauchverschraubung (Abb. 10-C) ohne
Kontermutter auf den Dichtungsgummi (Abb. 10-D) der
Kabeldurchführung geschraubt und dabei geklemmt.
Achten Sie darauf, dass Sperrluftleitung (Abb. 10-E) und
Datenkabel (Abb. 10-F) im Dichtungsgummi korrekt sitzen.
Die Gegenseite des Schutzschlauches ist mit einer
Schlauchverschraubung (Abb. 10-G) inklusive Dichtungs-
ring und einer Kontermutter (Abb. 10-H) ausgestattet.
Der Dichtungsring dichtet gegen eine Blechwand mit
entsprechender Bohrung (33,5 mm) ab. Die Schlauch-
verschraubung wird von der Maschineninnenseite durch
die Blechwand geführt und mit der Kontermutter von der
Rückseite befestigt.
Der Schutzschlauch darf nicht mit Sperrluft beauf-
schlagt werden. Diese wird bis zum Übergang in den
Flex-Armhalter in der Sperrluftleitung geführt.
Kugelhalterung
Beachten Sie, dass Datenkabel sowie Sperrluftleitung
hinter der Blechwand bis zur Installationsstelle verlegt
werden müssen und für die Montage hinter der Blechwand
ein ausreichender Freiraum für die Steckverbindungen
vorhanden ist. Zur Ermittlung des benötigten Installations-
raumes können auf Anfrage CAD-Modelle bereitgestellt
werden. Beachten Sie die statischen Biegeradien der
Daten- und Sperrluftleitung, die im Kapitel „Technische
Daten“ im Anhang genannt werden.
Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten zur Installation.
1. Diese Installationsart eignet sich am besten für eine
Nachrüstung: Bringen Sie einen Ausschnitt von
Ø 115 mm in die Blechwand ein. Dafür geeignetes
Werkzeug können Sie bei Bedarf mieten, sofern
Rotoclear oder ein zertizierter Vertriebspartner dies
in Ihrem Land anbietet. Führen Sie das Gegenstück des
Halters (Abb. 11-A) durch den Ausschnitt und befestigen
ihn mittels der als Montagehilfe eingebrachten
Magneten auf der Rückseite der Maschinenwand.
Richten Sie die Kanten des Gegenstücks an der Kante
des Auschnittes aus. Setzen Sie den Halter (Abb. 11-B)
von vorne vorsichtig auf und achten Sie darauf, dass
das Gegenstück nicht herunterfällt. Befestigen diesen
mit den M5 Schrauben mit aufgesetzten M5 Usit-
Ringen (Abb. 11-C1, C2). Achten Sie darauf, dass die

Make sure that the sealing air hose (Fig. 10-E) and data
cable (Fig. 10-F) are correctly seated in the sealing rubber.
The opposite side of the protective hose is equipped with
a hose tting (Fig. 10-G) including a sealing ring and a lock
nut (Fig. 10-H). The sealing ring seals against a sheet metal
wall with a corresponding hole (33.5 mm). The hose tting
is passed through the sheet metal wall from the inside of
the machine and fastened with the lock nut from the rear.
The protective hose must not be exposed to sealing
air. This is guided in the sealing air line up to the transition
into the ex arm mount.
Ball head mount
Please note that the data cables and the sealing air line will
need to be routed behind the sheet metal wall up to the
installation point, and that there must be sucient free
space for the plug connections behind the sheet metal
wall for installation. Upon request, CAD models can be
provided to determine the installation space required.
Please pay attention to the static bending radii of the data
and sealing air tubes specied in the chapter „Technical
data“ in the appendix.
There are two possibilities for installation.
1. This installation variant is best suited for retrots: Cut a
hole measuring Ø115mm into the sheet metal wall. You
can rent suitable tools for this purpose if Rotoclear or a
certied distributor oers this service in your country.
Insert the mount counterpart (Fig. 11-A) through the
hole and x it to the rear of the machine wall using the
magnets provided as a mounting aid. Align the edges
of the counterpart to the edge of the hole. Carefully
t the mount (Fig. 11-B) from the front, taking care that
the counterpart does not fall down. Fix it in place using
the M5 screws with attached M5 Usit rings (Fig. 11-C1,
C2). Ensure that the seal (Fig. 11-D) is inserted correctly
towards the sheet metal wall. Insert the inner sealing
ring (Fig. 11-E) and pull the data cable and the sealing air
line through the mount and connect both to the camera

Dichtung (Abb. 11-D) zur Blechwand korrekt eingelegt
ist. Legen Sie den inneren Dichtungsring (Abb. 11-E)
ein und ziehen Sie das Datenkabel sowie die Sperr-
luftleitung durch den Halter und schließen beides am
Kamerakopf mit Kugelgehäuse an (Abb. 11-F). Setzten
Sie den Klemmring (Abb. 11-G) auf und drehen ihn
handfest, so dass Sie den Kamerakopf noch ausrichten
können. Mit beigelegtem Werkzeug (Abb. 11-H) können
Sie den Klemmring fest ziehen und die Ausrichtung des
Kamerakopfes xieren.
2. Diese Installationsart eignet sich am besten für die
Erstausrüstung: Es muss ein runder Ausschnitt mit dem
Durchmesser 98mm sowie sechs M5 Gewinde in die
Blechwand eingebracht werden. Die Gewinde können
als Durchzug, mit Einpress- oder Schweißmuttern
ausgeführt sein. Setzen Sie den Halter (Abb. 11-B) in den
Ausschnitt ein und schrauben Sie den Halter wie unter
1. beschrieben mit den dafür vorgesehenen Schrauben
fest und setzen Sie den Kamerakopf ein.
Spindelmontage
Der Kamerakopf kann im Bereich der Werkzeugmaschinen-
spindel, beispielsweise direkt am Spindelstock, montiert
werden, auch wenn die Werkzeugmaschinenspindel mit
einer A- und / oder B-Achse beweglich ausgeführt ist. Sie
ist darauf ausgelegt, Bewegungen wie sie am Spindel-
kopf auftreten können aufzunehmen. Eine spezielle
Halterung wird dafür nicht angeboten. Verwenden Sie die
in Abschnitt „Befestigung des Kamerakopfs“ genannten
Möglichkeiten zur Befestigung des Kamerakopfes.
Inbetriebnahme
Dieses Kamera-System darf erst in Betrieb
genommen werden, wenn die betreende Maschine, nach
deren Einbau den Bestimmungen der Richtlinie 2006/42/
EG (Maschinenrichtlinie) entspricht.
Die Inbetriebnahme darf nur von befähigtem
Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden. Während der
Inbetriebnahme besteht Gefahr durch anlaufende oder
rotierende Teile. Vermeiden Sie Berührungen während
des Betriebs.
Tragen Sie Schutzausrüstung, unter Anderem eine
Schutzbrille.
Verbinden und trennen Sie den Kamerakopf nur in
stromlosem Zustand, damit das System keinen Schaden
nehmen kann. Stellen Sie gemäß der gewünschten
Nutzung eine Verbindung zu einem HDMI-Monitor oder zu
einem Netzwerk her. Es ist auch möglich beide Optionen
parallel zu nutzen.
Nehmen Sie Rotoclear C Basic nur in eingebautem
head with ball housing (Fig. 11-F). Fit the clamping ring
(Fig. 11-G) and tighten it by hand such that you are still
able to align the camera head. Use the enclosed tool
(Fig. 11-H) to tighten the clamping ring and lock the
alignment of the camera head.
2. This installation variant is best suited for rst-time
installations: A round hole with a diameter of 98 mm
and six M5 threads will need to be created in the sheet
metal wall. The threads can be eyelets, with insert or
weld nuts. Insert the mount (Fig. 11-B) into the hole and
screw the mount in place as described in 1. using the
screws provided, and insert the camera head.
Spindle mounting
The camera head can be mounted in the area of the
machine tool spindle, for example directly on the head-
stock, even if the machine tool spindle is designed to be
mobile along an A and/or B axis. It is designed to record the
movements that can occur at the spindle head. A special
mount is not provided for this purpose. Use the options
listed in the section „Mounting the camera head“ to mount
the camera head.
Startup
This camera system is only to be put into operation
when the machine in which it is installed complies with the
provisions of Directive 2006/42/EC (Machinery Directive).
Commissioning is only to be performed by qualied
specialist personnel. During commissioning, components
that are starting up or spinning pose a hazard. Avoid any
contact during operation.
Wear protective equipment, including safety
glasses.
Only connect and disconnect the camera head
when the power is o to prevent damage to the system.
Connect to an HDMI monitor or network according to
the desired use. It is also possible to use both options in
parallel.

Montagebedingungen (z.B. kleiner Anbindungspunkt aus
thermisch schlecht leitenden Materialien) ist nicht zulässig.
Die Zylindermanteläche des Kamerakopfs könnte
unter solchen Bedingungen Temperaturen über 60 °C
erreichen (Verbrennungsgefahr) und Schaden nehmen.
Der Kamerakopf wird im Betrieb mit einer
Spannung von 48VDC versorgt. Gemäß der Richtlinie IEC
60204-1:2019-06 darf bei Verwendung in Nassräumen,
wie beispielsweise in der Werkzeugspindel, am losen
Ende des Kabels max. 15 VDC anliegen. Hierzu wird die
Stromversorgung bei Trennen der Verbindung zwischen
HDMI-Box und Kamerakopf abgeschaltet. Erst bei Wieder-
verbindung des Kamerakopfes wird die notwendige
Versorgungsspannung erneut angelegt. Die Erkennung
des Kamerakopfes wird mittels eines Prüfsignals, das unter
15 VDC liegt, realisiert. Ist dies nach Risikobeurteilung
des Maschinenherstellers nicht ausreichend, kann ein
Pigtail-Kabel (Abb. 12-A) mit dem Anschluss des Kamera-
kopfes z.B. mittels eines Schrumpfschlauches (Abb. 12-B)
unlösbar verbunden werden. Anstelle des Datenkabels
mit zwei männlichen M12-Steckern ist ein Verlängerungs-
kabel mit einer weiblichen M12-Buchse (auf der Seite des
Kamerakopfes) und einem männlichen M12 Stecker (auf
der Seite der HDMI-Box) zu verwenden. Vorkongurierte
Kameraköpfe können Sie spezisch für den gewünschten
Einsatzzweck auch auf direkte Anfrage beziehen. Im Falle
des Eigenbezugs des Pigtailkabels und des Datenkabels
ist zwingend die Spezikation der Anschlüsse und Kabel
zu beachten, siehe Abschnitt „Schnittstelle“ im Kapitel
„Technische Daten“ im Anhang.

The operation of the camera head being mounted in
a thermally isolated fashion (small connecting area in
combination with thermo-insulating material) is prohibited.
Risk of burns due to temperatures exceeding 60°C on the
cylinder barrel surface of the camera head.
The camera head is supplied with a voltage of
48VDC. According to the IEC 60204-1:2019-06 standard,
a maximum of 15VDC may be applied to the loose end of
the cable when it is used in wet areas, such as in the tool
spindle. In this case, the power supply is shut o when the
connection between the HDMI unit and the camera head
is severed. It is only when the camera head is reconnected
that the necessary supply voltage is once again applied.
The detection of the camera head is performed using
a test signal that is below 15 VDC. If this is insucient
according to the machine manufacturer‘s risk assess-
ment, a pigtail cable (Fig. 12-A) can be attached to the
connector of the camera head and the connection made
permanent, e.g. by means of a shrink hose (Fig. 12-B).
Thus, an electrically safe connection for wet conditions is
established. Instead of installing the data cable with two
male ends, it is necessary to replace it with an extension
cable with a female end pointing towards the camera head
and one male end pointing towards the HDMI unit. Upon
receipt of a direct inquiry, the manufacturer can provide
the camera heads with a non-reversible pigtail cable and
an extension cable. For organising the interfaces, data
cables and pigtail cables without the manufacturer, please
refer to the necessary cable specications see section
„Interface“ in chapter „Technical data“ in the appendix.

User interface
The control elements will be shown or hidden with a click

Clicking the button switches the light on or o. The state of

Please note that the options, settings and range of
functions described in this chapter may vary depending
on the model or equipment variant. Availability may also
depend on the software version installed. Always ensure
that the latest available software version is installed (see
chapter „Software update update“).
Software update
The current version of the software is displayed
in the lower left corner for some time after starting the
system or when clicking or touch gesturing.
Always ensure that the rmware of the camera
system is kept up to date. Each new rmware version may
include new features, improvements and bug xes that
may also be relevant for security and safety.
This process may take several minutes. During this time,
it will not be possible to use the camera system. After the
update is complete, the HDMI unit will restart.

Connection options
The HDMI unit can be connected to a monitor via HDMI. For
the use of some functions, such as for switching the light
on and o, a form of input will also be required. Connect an
additional mouse or a monitor with touch functionality via
USB with the HDMI unit.
In principle, however, the device can also be operated
without an additional input interface.

downloads heruntergeladen.
2. HDMI-Monitor ist an das System angeschlossen.
Kopieren Sie die Software-Datei in das Hauptverzeichnis
eines USB-Speichermediums und stecken Sie ihn in einen
USB-Port an der HDMI-Box ein.
Es wird eine Meldung angezeigt sobald der USB-Speicher
erkannt und eine neuere Software-Datei gefunden wurde.
Es wird die aktuellste Software-Datei zur Installation
angeboten, die auf dem USB-Speichermedium gefunden
wird.
Klicken Sie auf „aktualisieren“ oder warten Sie bis der
Timer abgelaufen ist um das Update zu starten. Warten Sie
bis das Update abgeschlossen ist. Das Kamera-System
startet automatisch neu.
Soll der Updateprozess abgebrochen werden, klicken Sie
auf „abbrechen“ oder entfernen Sie das USB-Speicher-
medium.
Entfernen Sie weder den USB-Speicher noch die
Stromversorgung, sobald der Updateprozess gestartet ist.
Recovery Mode
Sollte die das Kamera-System nicht mehr starten oder
oensichtlich nur noch fehlerhaft funktionieren (beispiels-
weise aufgrund einer fehlerhaften Konguration,
unterbrochenem oder fehlgeschlagenem Update), so
kann es mittels Recovery Mode wiederhergestellt werden.
Startet die Software nicht mehr korrekt, so startet der
Recovery Mode automatisch. Der Recovery Mode lässt
sich auch manuell starten, indem die Stromversorgung
während des Bootvorgangs (nach ca. 1 Sekunde) 10 Mal
hintereinander unterbrochen wird.
Laden Sie die Software-Datei von www.rotoclear.com/
CBasic-downloads herunter und kopieren Sie diese in das
Hauptverzeichnis eines USB-Speichermediums. Stecken
Sie dieses an einer USB-Schnittstelle ein. Der Recovery
Mode erkennt die Software-Datei und startet den Wieder-
herstellungsprozess automatisch.
SwipeZoom Feature
Mit dem Mausrad oder mit einer Zoomgeste können Sie
die Zoomfunktion bedienen. Der Ausschnitt kann mittels
Linksklick oder Touchgeste verschoben werden.
Lagesensor
Der Kamerakopf ist mit einem Lagesensor ausgestattet,
mit dem das Kamerabild automatisch, beispielsweise beim
beweglichen Einbau an der Spindel, ausgerichtet wird.

Copy the software le to the root directory of a USB
storage medium and insert it into a USB port on the HDMI
unit.
A message is displayed as soon as the USB storage
medium is detected and a newer software is found. The
latest software found on the USB storage medium is
oered for installation.
Click on „update“ or wait until the timer has expired to start
the update. Wait until the update is completed.
The camera system will restart automatically.
If you want to cancel the update process, click on „cancel“
or remove the USB storage medium .
Do not remove the USB ash drive or the power
supply once the update process has started.
Recovery mode
If the camera system is unable to start up or it is obvious
that it is functioning incorrectly (for example, due to a
faulty conguration, interrupted or failed update), it can
be restored using recovery mode. If the software no
longer starts up correctly, recovery mode will launch
automatically. Recovery mode can also be initiated
manually by interrupting the power supply 10 times during
the boot procedure (after approx. 1 Second).
Download the software le from www.rotoclear.com/en/
CBasic-downloads and copy it into the root directory of a
USB storage medium. Insert it into a USB port. Recovery
mode will detect the software le and automatically initiate
the restore process.
SwipeZoom feature
With the mouse wheel or a zoom gesture, you can operate
the zoom function. The zoomed section can be panned
with a left click or a touch gesture.
Alignment sensor
The camera head is equipped with an alignment sensor
that aligns the camera image automatically, for example
when the camera head is mounted on the spindle in a
moving position.
