Make sure the Press Fit Nuts are facing
upwards, and not towards the arms.
Tighten screws until snug, and then a little bit more.
Pro tip: Make sure the tip of the hex driver is fully seated in the screw head before
tightening. This will avoid stripping the screw.

Note the polarity of the capacitor!
The side with the stripe is negative.

Motor and ESC Connections
Assemble the bottom part of the
frame. The X-shaped brace goes on
the very bottom.
Solder the XT-60 Battery Connector
and Capacitor as shown.
Install the motors and solder each
wire to the indicated pads.
Note that the ESC is rotated 90º from it’s
default position. We need to correct this
later when setting up the drone.

Install the DJI Digital HD FPV System.
Don’t connect power
without antennas installed
on the DJI Air Unit!

Flight Controller Connections
Connect the Flight Controller to the
ESC with the supplied harness.
Solder the DJI Air Unit wire harness
to the Flight Controller as shown.
Thread the antennas through the 3D Printed Antenna Mount before connecting them
to the DJI Air Unit. It’s easier to install the lower antenna before the top antenna.
You should hear a solid “click” when plugging the antennas into the DJI Air Unit.

The Flight Controller is
installed with the gyro chip
facing upwards. This mini-
mizes the electromagnetic
(EM) interference from the
ESC.

That’s it for the soldering!
Now finish up the build by fastening
any loose wires with zip ties or
electrical tape.

BetaFlight Setup
Connect your Flight Controller to a computer with BetaFlight.
In the Configuration Tab, use the following settings. Click “Save and Reboot” when done.

Since the ESC is rotated 90 degrees to get the battery connector on the side, we need to enter some commands
in the CLI page in BetaFlight.
