INTRODUCTION
The Vision-Link™is a light unit designed to be used with RPB®Link™System Respirators, such
as the Z-Link®, T-Link ®, and Z4®. The light is provided by 3 bright white LEDs. It is intended
to provide a bright light for the operator of the respirator that is directed at the work area
and where the operator looks. The Vision-Link™is powered by a proprietary rechargeable
battery (09-055). When starting fully charged, the battery should last around 4 hours. The
Vision-Link™can also be mounted to some sports camera mounts allowing for hands free light
holding.

HAZARD LIMITATIONS
The RPB®Vision-Link™Light is NOT FOR USE if:
In abrasive blasting applications.
The temperature is outside the range of 14°F to 131°F (-10°C to 55°C).
Flammable or explosive atmosphere is present.
Under water or in excessively wet conditions.
The battery is damaged or with non RPB®batteries or battery chargers.

This product is intended for occupational use in accordance with applicable standards or
regulations for your location, industry, and activity (see Employer Responsibilities, page 4.
Familiarity with standards and regulations related to the use of this protective equipment is
recommended, even if they do not directly apply to you. If self-employed or if used in a non-
occupational setting, refer to Employer Responsibilities and Product User Safety Instructions. Go

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
EMPLOYER RESPONSIBILITIES
Your specific responsibilities may vary by location and industry, but in general RPB®expects that
employers will:
Follow all applicable standards and regulations for your location, industry, and activity.
Depending on your location and industry, a number of standards and regulations may apply to
your selection and use of accessories with personal protective equipment. These may include
such things as federal (e.g., OSHA, MSHA, Canadian Occupational Health and Safety), local
(e.g., state, provincial), or military standards and regulations and consensus standards such as
ANSI and CSA.
In accordance with the above,
Perform a hazard analysis and select appropriate equipment for each activity. A hazard
analysis should be performed by a qualified person. Controls should be in place as
appropriate and a qualified person should determine what kind of accessories are
appropriate to be used.

Ensure that equipment is properly set up, used, and maintained.
Make sure that equipment is properly set up, inspected, fitted, used, and maintained,
including using only RPB®batteries and chargers made specifically for the Vision-Link™
Light.
Dispose of the battery in accordance with local regulations.

PRODUCT USER SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
MAKE SURE THE SYSTEM IS READY FOR USE
Make sure you have a complete unit. Verify that you have all components for the Vision-Link™
Light:

The correct light mount for the respirator the light is to be used on
Do not modify or alter any part of this product.
Inspect all components daily for signs of damage or wear and tear. Remove any damaged
component, including the lens or housing that has been subject to impact or other damage, from
service until replaced. Scratched or damaged lenses or other components should be replaced with
genuine RPB®brand replacement parts. The lens must fastened securely, as it forms part of the
seal to keep moisture, dust and other debris away from the electrical components inside. Inspect
the battery compartment for moisture, dust or other debris. Keep the battery compartment of the
light clean at all times.
Make sure that the light is correctly assembled. Never use the light without the lens in place.
DO NOT ENTER THE WORK AREA if any of the following conditions exist:
You cannot escape without the aid of the Vision-Link™Light in case the battery dies or another
problem occurs.
When flammable or explosive atmosphere is present.
The temperature is outside the range of 14°F to 140°F (-10°C to +60°C).
PRODUCT CARE
Never place the light on hot surfaces. Do not apply paints, solvents, adhesives or self-adhesive
labels except as instructed by RPB®. Clean the Vision-Link™with mild detergent and a soft cloth
or a disinfectant wipe.

WARNING
Only use the light mount designed for the respirator the Vision-Link™is to be used with. DO
NOT attach the light with glue, tape, or by any other means to the respirator as it will void
the NIOSH approval for the respirator.
Remove the center cape clip by removing
the screw that holds it in from the inside of
the helmet.
Insert the hinge bolt through the mounting
clip and washer, into the nut in the lever.
Insert the Vision-Link™mounting clip and
screw into place from the inside of the
helmet.

With the lever open, slide the Vision-Link™
onto the hinge bolt. Adjust the angle and
close the lever to secure it in place. Adjust
the tightness of the lever by adjusting the
tightness of the hinge bolt.

Insert the mounting bracket into the jaw,
lining up the holes. Insert and tighten the
mounting screws.
Remove the mounting bracket from the light
unit if they came attached.

Reattach the light unit to the mounting
bracket by inserting the hinge bolt through
the holes in the mounting bracket and the
washer, into the nut in the lever.

With the lever open, slide the Vision-Link
unit into the slots of the mounting bracket,
onto the hinge bolt. Adjust the light to the
desired angle and close the lever to tighten
in place. You may need to open the lever
and tighten or loosen the hinge bolt to get
the correct tightness when the lever is
closed.

Remove the mounting bracket from the light
unit.
Note: Sports camera style mount is not
included or available from RPB®.
Pull the adjustment lever open to loosen
the pivot.
Insert the light unit into the sports camera
mount. Secure it with either the Vision-
Link™Adjustment lever and screw or with
the tightening screw that may have come
with the sports camera mount.

Rotate the light unit into the desired
position. Then close the adjustment lever to
tighten the pivot into place.

INSTALLATION ON SPORTS CAMERA MOUNT
The ability to use sports camera mounts allows the user to mount the Vision-Link™on alternate
surfaces, such as a work bench or tool cart. Do not use sports camera mounts to attach the
Vision-Link™to the respirator. Only use RPB®Vision-Link™ mounts for mounting to the respira-
tor.

CHANGE THE COWLING SEAL
Overtime, the cowling seal may need to be
replaced to keep a tight seal. To remove the
old seal, open the latch and pull out the old
seal.
Insert the new seal into the groove,
matching up the corners and edges so that
it is in the correct position. Close the unit
and latch.

BATTERY
To reduce the risk of battery fire or explosion or of fire or electric shock
with the charger, follow these precautions and procedures:
Before charging
Allow the battery to cool before charging if it feels hot.
Inspect the battery before each time it is charged. If there are any cracks or damage do not
charge the battery.
Inspect the charger and power cords before use. Replace if any parts are damaged. Do not
substitute, modify or add parts to the chargers. Do not attempt to service the chargers. There
are no user-serviceable parts inside.
Use only the provided charger and cord.
Where to charge
Charge only:
indoors,
in a dry area,
away from sources of heat,
away from anything that can burn if exposed to heat or flame,
in a well-ventilated place,
where the charger can be monitored and easily observed during charging.

Charging
Full charging cycles take 3 hours. The screen on the charger will display a gauge for each
battery to indicate how charged the battery is and will say “Full” when the battery is fully
charged. Before using the light for the first time, make sure a full charge is performed. The
batteries are manufactured to last 500 charge cycles for peak performance.
Battery care
Do not use the battery outside the recommended temperature limits 14° F to 131° F (-10° C to
55° C).
Do not charge the battery outside the recommended temperature limits 32° F to 113° F (0° C
to 45° C).
Do not store the battery outside the recommended temperature limits 14° F to 113° F (-10° C
to 45° C).
Do not disassemble. Do not immerse in water or other liquids.
The battery can short if the contacts are accidentally connected by metal other than the Vision-
Link™or the charger. The protections built into the battery will cut off current flow, and the battery
will appear to be dead. To reset the battery, place the battery on the charging station. The battery
will be good to use again.
Before using the Vision-Link™: Verify the battery is fully charged:
Make sure the battery is fully charged so work does not need to be stopped to charge or
replace the battery.
Battery and Charger Care
Use only the 09-050 battery charger.
Use only the 09-055 battery in the Vision-Link™and do not use the battery in any other
product.
Remove the battery from the charger when charging is complete.
Remove the battery from the Vision-Link™when not in use for an extended period of
time.
Keep the battery away from metal objects to avoid short circuiting the battery.
If the battery or charger gets excessively hot, discontinue use and allow them to cool
down.
Make sure the battery is installed in the correct polarity position to avoid damaging the
battery or the light unit.
Disposal
Dispose of batteries according to local regulations. Do not crush, disassemble, dispose of in
standard waste bins, in a fire, or send for incineration. Failure to properly dispose of batteries may
lead to environmental contamination, fire or explosion.

Open the latch and then the unit. Remove
the battery from the battery clips.

battery is in the positive side battery clip.
Close the unit and the latch.

LIMITED WARRANTY
RPB®warrants that its Products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one (1)
year, subject to the terms of this limited warranty. The Products are sold only for commercial use,
and no consumer warranties apply to the Products. This limited warranty is for the benefit of the
original Product purchaser, and cannot be transferred or assigned. This is the sole and exclusive
warranty provided by RPB®, and ALL CONDITIONS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES (INCLUDING
ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE) ARE
EXCLUDED AND DISCLAIMED FROM WARRANTY COVERAGE. RPB’s®limited warranty cover-
age does not apply to damage resulting from accident, improper use or misuse of the Products,
wear and tear resulting from the normal use of the Products, or the failure to properly maintain
the Products.
RPB’s®limited warranty coverage runs from the original date of purchase of the Products, and
applies only to warranted defects which first manifest themselves and are reported to RPB®within
the warranty period. RPB®retains the right to determine to its reasonable satisfaction whether
any claimed defect is covered by this limited warranty.
If a warranted defect occurs, RPB®will repair or replace the defective Product (or a component of
the Product), in its sole discretion. This “repair or replacement” remedy is the sole and exclusive
remedy under this limited warranty, and under no circumstances shall RPB’s®liability under this
limited warranty exceed the original purchase price for the Products (or the applicable compo-
nent). RPB®has no responsibility for incidental or consequential damages, including loss of use,
maintenance and other costs, and ALL INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARE EX-
CLUDED AND DISCLAIMED from this limited warranty. Contact RPB®to obtain warranty service.
Proof of purchase must be provided to obtain warranty service. All costs of returning the Products
to RPB®for warranty service must be paid by the purchaser.
RPB®reserves the right to improve its Products through changes in design or materials without
being obligated to purchasers of previously manufactured Products.
LIABILITY
RPB®Safety cannot accept any liability of whatsoever nature arising directly or indirectly from
the use or misuse of RPB®Safety products, including purposes that the products are not designed
for. RPB®Safety is not liable for damage, loss or expense resulting from the failure to give advice
or information or the giving of incorrect advice or information, whether or not due to RPB®
Safety’s negligence or that of its employees, agents or subcontractors.

INTRODUCTIE
De Vision-Link™is een licht dat ontworpen is om te worden gebruikt met RPB®Link System™
Ademhalingstoestellen, zoals de Z-Link®, T-Link ®en Z4®. Het licht wordt geleverd door 3

Alle geldende normen en voorschriften voor uw locatie, branche en werkzaamheid
opvolgen.
Afhankelijk van uw locatie en branche, kunnen een aantal normen en voorschriften van
toepassing zijn op uw selectie en gebruik van accessoires voor persoonlijke beschermende
uitrusting. Deze kunnen federale (bijv. OSHA, MSHA, Canadese Gezondheid en Veiligheid

De juiste montagebeugel voor het ademhalingstoestel waar het licht op moet worden

Pas geen enkel deel van dit product aan, en verander niets.
Inspecteer alle componenten dagelijks op tekenen van beschadiging of slijtage. Verwijder
beschadigde componenten, inclusief de lens of de behuizing als deze onderhevig is geweest aan
schokken of andere schade, voor service of vervanging. Gekraste of beschadigde lenzen of andere
componenten moeten worden vervangen door originele

ONDERHOUD
Plaats het licht nooit op hete oppervlakken. Breng geen verf, oplosmiddelen, kleefstoffen of
zelfklevende etiketten aan, tenzij aan de hand van instructies van RPB®. Reinig de Vision-Link™
met een mild reinigingsmiddel en een zachte doek of een desinfecterend doekje.
Gebruik alleen de montagebeugel die speciaal is ont-
worpen voor het ademhalingstoestel waarmee de Vision-Link™wordt gebruikt. Bevestig het
licht NIET met lijm, plakband of op een andere manier aan het ademhalingstoestel, dit maakt
de NIOSH-keuring voor het ademhalingstoestel nietig.

gaten in de montagebeugel en de sluitring te
steken en in de moer in de hendel.

u de Vision-Link in de sleuven van de
montagebeugel op de scharnierbout. Pas
de hoek van het licht naar wens aan en

PAKKING VAN BEHUIZING VERWISSELEN

Bij overwerk moet de pakking van de
behuzing mogelijk worden vervangen om een
goede afdichting te behouden. Om de oude
pakking te verwijderen, open de grendel en
trek de oude pakking er uit.

ervoor dat de hoeken en randen op elkaar
passen, zodat deze goed aansluit. Sluit de
eenheid en vergrendel.

INSTALLATIE OP SPORT CAMERA
MONTAGEBEUGEL
Dankzij de mogelijkheid om montagebeugels
voor sportcamera’s te gebruiken, kan de
Vision-Link™ op alternatieve oppervlakken
gemonteerd worden, zoals een werkbank
of een gereedschapswagen. Gebruik de
sport camera montagebeugel niet om de
Vision-Link™aan het ademhalingstoestel
te bevestigen. Gebruik alleen RPB®
Vision-Link™beugels voor montage op het
ademhalingstoestel.
BATTERIJ
Volg deze voorzorgsmaatregelen en procedures om
het risico op batterij brand, ontploffing of brand of een
elektrische schok met de oplader te verminderen:
Voor het opladen
Als de batterij warm aanvoelt, laat deze dan afkoelen voor het opladen.
Inspecteer de batterij telkens voor het opladen. Bij barsten of schade, laad de batterij niet
op.
Inspecteer vóór gebruik de oplader en voedingskabels. Als er onderdelen beschadigd zijn,
vervang deze. Wijzig geen onderdelen, pas ze niet aan en voeg niets aan de opladers toe.
Probeer de opladers niet te onderhouden. Er zijn geen onderdelen die door de gebruiker
gerepareerd kunnen worden.
Gebruik alleen de oplader en het snoer die meegeleverd zijn.

waar de lader kan worden gezien en gemakkelijk geobserveerd kan worden tijdens het
opladen.
Opladen
Volledige laadcycli duren 3 uur. Op het scherm van de oplader wordt voor elke batterij
weergegeven hoe vol de batterij is; er zal “Full” staan wanneer de batterij volledig is
opgeladen. Voordat u het licht voor de eerste keer gebruikt, controleer of de batterij volledig is
opgeladen. De batterijen zijn gemaakt om 500 laadcycli maximale prestaties te leveren.
Onderhoud van de batterij
Gebruik de batterij niet buiten de aanbevolen temperatuurgrenzen van -10°C tot 55°C
(14°F tot 131°F).
Laad de batterij niet buiten de aanbevolen temperatuurgrenzen van 0°C tot 45°C (32°F
tot 113°F).
Bewaar de batterij niet buiten de aanbevolen temperatuurgrenzen van -10°C tot 45°C
(14°F tot 113°F).
Niet uit elkaar halen. Niet onderdompelen in water of andere vloeistoffen.
De batterij kan kortsluiten als de contacten per ongeluk worden verbonden met een ander metaal
dan de Vision-Link™of de oplader. De beveiligingen die in de batterij zijn ingebouwd, onderbreken
de stroomtoevoer waardoor de batterij leeg lijkt. Om de batterij te resetten, plaatst u de batterij op
het laadstation. Hierna kan de batterij weer opnieuw worden gebruikt.
Voordat u de Vision-Link™gebruikt: controleer of de batterij volledig is opgeladen:
Zorg ervoor dat de batterij volledig is opgeladen, zodat het werk niet hoeft te worden
gestopt om de batterij op te laden of te vervangen.
Onderhoud van Batterij en oplader
Gebruik alleen de 09-520 oplader.
Gebruik alleen de 09-055 batterij in de Vision-Link™en gebruik deze batterij niet met
een ander product.
Haal de batterij uit het stopcontact wanneer deze opgeladen is.
Haal de batterij uit de Vision-Link™als u deze gedurende een langere periode niet
gebruikt.
Houd de batterij uit de buurt van metalen voorwerpen om kortsluiting van de batterij te
voorkomen.
Als de batterij of de voeding te heet wordt, stop dan met het gebruik en laat ze afkoelen.
Zorg ervoor dat de batterij in de juiste polariteitspositie is geïnstalleerd om beschadiging
van de batterij of het licht te voorkomen.
Afval
Gooi batterijen weg volgens de plaatselijke voorschriften. Niet verpletteren, uit elkaar halen, in het
standaard afval doen, zelf verbranden of voor verbranding afvoeren. Als batterijen niet adequaat
worden verwijderd, kan dit leiden tot milieuvervuiling, brand of explosie.
