Set Up of the Kit Components
What’s in the Box
1, Case
2, Light Stand
2, EZ Open Softbox
2, Diffuser for softbox
2, 70 watt CFL lamp
For the RS-4075 and RS-4085 these additional items are included:
2, 70 watt CFL lamp (total of 4)
2, 4-in-One adapter
Set up the EZ Open Softbox
- Back off the screw of the stand mount on the back of the EZ
Open softbox
- Place the EZ Open softbox onto the top of the stand upright
- Secure the softbox to the stand by tightening the screw to the stand
upright
- Moving to the front of the EZ Open softbox, carefully lift the sides
of the softbox enough so that you can place your hand into the softbox
and see the “O” ring and lamp socket. You will find an “O” ring with
connecting rods attached to it. Placing one hand on the back of the
softbox for support where it was connected to the light stand, use the
other hand to push the “O” ring over the light socket. When in place,
the “O” ring should be parallel with the socket.
If you have either the RS-4075 or RS-4085 kit, screw in the 4-in-One
adapter being careful not to cross thread the unit.
- Screw in the CFL lamp(s), again being careful to not cross thread the
lamp with the socket.
For RS-4075 and RS-4085 users: A maximum of 3, 70 watt CFL’s may be
used in an EZ Open softbox. Using more can overload the socket, softbox
and/or stand resulting in damage and voiding the warranty.
Two 70 watt CFL’s is sufficient for most applications.
- Place the diffuser on the front of the softbox.
- Plug the softbox into a standard 110v electric outlet. Using the toggle
switch in the line cord, turn on the softbox.
To disassemble the unit, reverse the process described above.
Remove the components from the case.
Set up the light stands
- Loosen the locking screw and open the legs fully
- Raise the upright sections to a comfortable height
WARNING: Do NOT plug the unit into an electric socket until
the softbox is fully assembled and CFL’s are in place. Failure to
observe this warning could result in electric shock, injury and
even death.
Recommendation
RPS Studio recommends the use of sandbags with all light stands to help
protect equipment from falling.
