16. Do not use with voltage converter.
17. Be sure dual voltage selector is in correct voltage
position before operating. Before plugging in, read
the information about dual voltage contained in this
instruction section of this manual.
18. This appliance was set at the factory to operate at 125
volts. Refer to Additional Information section of this
manual for conversion to 250 volts operation.

OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is intended for household use only. Use on
Alternating Current (60 hertz) only. Standard dryers are
designed to operate at 110 to 125 volts A.C. or 220 to 250
volts A.C.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
CHECK ALCI SAFETY FEATURE EVERY TIME
YOU USE APPLIANCE.
This dryer is equipped with an Appliance Leakage
Circuit Interrupter (ALCI), a safety feature that renders
it inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as
immersion in water.To make sure the ALCI is functioning
properly, perform the following test.The purpose of
this test is to allow you to make sure the water sensing
system (ALCI) is working.
1. Plug in the appliance and press test button on plug
(See appropriate diagram below).
2. The hair dryer will stop working.There will be an
audible click and reset button will pop out.
3. To reset ALCI with a reset button, unit should be
unplugged. Then push reset button in, and reinsert
plug into outlet.
4. If ALCI is not functioning properly, return appliance to
place of purchase.
5. It is important that if immersion occurs, this unit be
brought to a service center. Do not try to reset.
6. Be sure to repeat test every time you use the unit to
confirm ALCI is operational.
7. Should the appliance go off and the reset button pop
up during use, this could indicate a malfunction in the
unit. Remove plug from outlet and allow the appliance
to cool. Reinsert plug into outlet. The dryer should then
function normally. If not,return to an authorized Rusk
Service Center for examination and repair.
SUPER STYLING GUIDE
Your best looks begin with a good haircut that’s well
maintained. Always treat hair right with superior quality
shampoos, conditioners, and finishing products.
DRYING BASICS
1. Shampoo and condition hair with products of your
choice. Rinse thoroughly.Towel-blot hair to remove
excess moisture. Section hair.Using the dryer along
with your styling brush, direct hot air through one
section of hair at a time. Move dryer steadily across
each section so that the hot air passes through hair.
Direct airflow at hair, not scalp
2. Keep dryer’s air intake vents unobstructed and free
from hair while drying.
3. To avoid overdrying and possible damage to hair or
skin, do not concentrate heat on one section for any
length of time. Keep dryer moving as you style.
4. For quick touch ups, between shampoos,
dampen hair with a mist of water before styling with
the dryer.
5. When using your dryer to create curls and waves,
dry hair almost completely on a warmer temperature
setting, then finish styling with cooler air.
BODY & VOLUME
To create extra volume, turn head
upside down while drying. Position
the air flow toward the roots for
maximum lift. When hair is dry,
toss head back and brush hair into
place.
STRAIGHTENING
Work with hair in sections when
creating a super straight look. Using
a large round brush (approximately
2" diameter), hold hair taut in each
section and bend ends slightly
under as you dry.
MAKING WAVES
Tousled, natural- looking waves are
easily created by grasping hair at
the roots and scrunching between
fingertips while drying.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
FOR DUAL VOLTAGE DRYERS
For use in the U.S.A., the voltage selector switch should
be placed in the 125 position. For use in several countries
overseas, the voltage selector may need to be placed in the
250 position. Confirm the voltage available at each overseas
location before using the appliance. For connection to a 250
volt supply, use an attachment plug adapter of the proper
configuration for the power supply receptacle.
For 110-125 Volt Operation
Flick the dual voltage switch to the 125 position. In this
position, the dryer operates on all available heat and speed
settings.
For 220-250 Volt Operation
First put the speed switch to off and the heat switch to
Hot. Flick the dual-voltage switch to the 250 position. At
220-250V while the speed switch is set at low and the heat
switch is set to hot, the dryer operates only at high speed
with high heat. Do not attempt to operate / change the
setting on the speed and heat switches or change to 125
position when operating on 220-250V.The switches must
be set and remain in the Low (on speed switch), hot (on heat
switch) and 250 positions. A plug adapter may be necessary
in certain countries.
USER MAINTENANCE
Your dryer is virtually maintenance-free. No
lubrication is needed. The dryer must be kept clean
for proper operating performance. When cleaning
is needed, unplug the cord, allow to cool and
clean dust and lint from air intake openings with a
small brush or the brush attachment of a vacuum
cleaner.The outer surface of the dryer should be
wiped clean with a damp cloth only.
Blocked or clogged air intake vents will cause
the dryer to overheat. If overheating occurs, an
automatic safety device will shut the dryer or the
heat off to prevent damage or personal injury. If
the unit or the heat turns off, unplug the cord and
allow the dryer to cool for 10 to 15 minutes before
restarting. Make sure the air vents are clean.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be pulled,
twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap the cord
tightly around the dryer. Damage will occur at
the high flex point of entry into the dryer, causing
it to rupture and short circuit. Inspect the cord
frequently for damage. Stop use immediately
if damage is visible or unit stops or operates
intermittently.
If the cord or dryer is damaged or does not operate
properly, return it for repair to place of purchase or
an authorized Rusk service representative only. No
repairs should be attempted by the consumer.
STORAGE - I MPORTANT
When not in use, your dryer should be disconnect-
ed, allowed to cool and stored in a safe, dry loca-
tion, out of reach of children. Do not wrap line cord
around dryer.Allow the cord to hang or lie loose
and straight at the point of entry into the dryer.
LIMITED TWO YEAR WARRANTY
Rusk will repair or replace (at our option) your
unit free of charge for 24 months from the date
of purchase if the appliance is defective in
workmanship or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty,return the
defective product to the service center nearest you,
together with your purchase receipt and $3.00 for
postage and handling. (California residents need
only provide proof of purchase and should call

absence of a purchase receipt, the warranty period

DE OPERACIÓN
Este aparato ha sido diseñado para uso doméstico. Úselo
solamente con Corriente Alterna de 110 a 125V (60 Hz) o
220 a 250V (50 Hz).
El cable de este aparato está dotado de una clavija
polarizada (una pata es más ancha que otra). Como medida
de seguridad, se podrá enchufar de una sola manera en el
tomacorriente polarizado. Si no entrara en el tomacorriente,
inviértela. Si aún no entrara completamente, comuníquese
con un electricista. No intente ir en contra de esta función
de seguridad.
PRUEBE EL CORTACIRCUITO DE SEGURIDAD
ANTES DE CADA USO
Este aparato está dotado de un cortacircuito de
seguridad llamado ALCI (Appliance Leakage Circuit
Interrupter), que apaga el aparato inmediatamente si
éste cayera al agua. Haga la prueba siguiente para
asegurarse que el sistema de detección de agua
funcione correctamente:
1. Enchufe el aparato y apriete el botón de prueba (véase
el gráfico más abajo).
2. El aparato dejará de funcionar.Se oirá un clic y el
botón de reajuste saltará.
3. Para reajustarlo, desconecte el aparato. Oprima el
botón de reajuste y vuelva a conectar el cable.
4. Si el cortacircuito de seguridad no funcionara
correctamente, regrese el aparato a un centro de
servicio autorizado.
5. Si el aparato cayera al agua, es muy importante que lo
mande a un centro de servicio autorizado. No intente
reajustarlo.
6. Pruebe el cortacircuito de seguridad antes de cada
uso para asegurarse que esté operativo.
7. Si el secador se apagara y el botón de reajuste
saltara durante el uso, esto podría indicar un mal
funcionamiento. Si esto ocurriera, desconecte el
aparato y permita que enfríe. Conecte el cable
al tomacorriente. El aparato debería funcionar
normalmente. Si no fuera el caso, regréselo a un
centro de servicio autorizado para que lo revisen y lo
reparen.
GUÍA PARA UN S ÚPER PEINADO
La mejor apariencia empieza por un recorte de
cabello bien mantenido. Siempre cuide su cabello con
champúes, acondicionadores y productos de peinado de
calidad superior.
FUNDAMENTOS DEL SECADO
1. Lave y acondicione su cabello con los productos
deseados. Enjuáguelo bien. Séquelo con una toalla
para eliminar el exceso de agua. Divida el cabello en
secciones. Seque el cabello usando simultáneamente
el secador y un cepillo. Coloque el cepillo debajo de
cada sección de cabello y dirija el flujo de aire caliente
hacia la parte superior del cabello. Mueva el cepillo y
el secador lenta y simultáneamente hasta las puntas.
Dirija el flujo de aire hacia el cabello, no hacia el cuero
cabelludo.
2. Mantenga las entradas de aire del aparato sin
obstrucciones y libres de cabello.
3. Para no lastimar el cabello o la piel, no concentre
el flujo de aire en una sección solamente. Mueva el
secador constantemente.
4. Para realizar retoques rápidos entre lavados, rocíe un
poco de agua sobre el cabello antes de secarlo.
5. Cuando use el secador para crear bucles y ondas,
seque el cabello casi por completo usando un ajuste
de temperatura bajo, luego fije el peinado usando el
disparo de aire frío.
6. Este secador incluye un boquilla concentradora de
aire. Utilice la boquilla concentradora cuando necesite
secar rápidamente una sección pequeña, como una
onda, o para alisar el cabello.

con un cepillo redondo grande
de aproximadamente 5 cm de
diámetro. Doble un poco las puntas
hacia abajo mientras seca.
ONDULADO
Para crear ondas despeinadas de
apariencia natural, estruje las raíces

INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL
INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL PARA LOS APARATOS DE
DOBLE VOLTAJE
Ponga el selector de voltaje en la posición “125” para uso
en los Estados. Póngalo en la posición “250”para uso
en países con suministro eléctrico de 220 a 250 voltios.
Averigüe el voltaje antes de enchufar el aparato. Puede que
sea necesario utilizar un adaptador de enchufe (no incluido)
para conectar el aparato a red de 250V.
Operación 110-125 voltios
Ponga el selector de voltaje en la posición “125”. El aparato

MANTENIMIENTO
Su secador casi no necesita mantenimiento.
No necesita lubricación. Para que funcione
correctamente, debe mantenerlo limpio. Cuando
sea necesario limpiarlo, desconéctelo, permita
que enfríe y saque el polvo y las pelusas de las
aberturas de aire con un cepillo pequeño o el
cepillo accesorio de una aspiradora. La superficie
exterior del secador sólo se debe limpiar con un
paño limpio.
El secador se recalentará si las aberturas
de aire estuvieran bloqueadas u obstruidas.
Si esto ocurriera, un sistema de seguridad
apagará el secador o cortará la temperatura
automáticamente para evitar daños al aparato o
heridas. Si esto sucediera, desenchufe el aparato
y permita que enfríe durante 10 a 15 minutos
antes de encenderlo de nuevo. Asegúrese que las
ventilaciones de aire estén limpias.
PRECAUCIÓN
NUNCA jale, retuerza ni doble mucho el cable.
