Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch:
Das EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System ist für Beleuchtungsaufgaben im Bereich der Steromikroskopie
in Industrie und Labor vorgesehen. Es dient der intensiven Beleuchtung von Objekten aller Art.
Gemäß der Norm EN 62471:2008 handelt es sich beim EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System um ein
Produkt der Risiko-Klasse 2.
Das EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System erfüllt die Bestimmung folgender Richtlinien der Europäischen
Gemeinschaft:
2006/95/EG (Niederspannungsrichtlinie)
2004/108/EG (EMV-Richtlinie)
2011/95/EU (RoHS)
Die Übereinstimmung des Beleuchtungssystems mit den grundlegenden Anforderungen obiger
Richtlinien wird durch die technische Dokumentation, sowie die vollständige Einhaltung folgender
Normen nachgewiesen:

Sicherheitshinweise:
Bitte lesen und beachten Sie diese Gebrauchsanweisung sorgfältig. Die Sicherheit des
Gerätes ist bei Nichtbeachtung nicht gewährleistet.
Während des Betriebs niemals direkt in die Lichtaustrittsöffnung der Spotlichter blicken
(Gefahr von Augenverletzungen)!
Vom EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System geht sichtbares Licht hoher Intensität aus. Da
lichtabsorbierende Materialien die physikalische Eigenschaft haben, auftreffendes Licht in Wärme
umzuwandeln, können an wärmeempfindlichen oder entzündbaren lichtabsorbierenden Materialien

Schädigungen auftreten. Zur Vermeidung solcher thermischer Schäden und möglicher Brand- bzw.
Verbrennungsgefahr beachten Sie bitte folgende Hinweise:
xDecken Sie das EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System nie ab (Brandgefahr)!
xBedecken Sie die Lichtaustrittsöffnung der Spotlichter nie mit der Hand oder anderen Körper-
teilen (Verbrennungsgefahr)!
xBei der Beleuchtung wärmeempfindlicher oder entzündbarer lichtabsorbierender Objekte ist
besonders darauf zu achten, Abstand und Helligkeit so zu wählen, dass am Objekt keine
thermischen Schädigungen auftreten.
xAlle nicht im Arbeitsvorgang verwendeten Spotlichter müssen sich stets in einem sicheren
Abstand -mindestens 10 cm- von wärmeempfindlichen oder entzündbaren lichtabsorbierenden
Materialien befinden (Vermeidung möglicher Brandgefahr). Achten Sie daher bei jenen
Spotlichtern auf obigen sicheren Abstand von z.B. dunklen/farbigen Textilien und
dunklen/farbigen Holz- oder Kunststoffoberflächen
xUm eine unnötige Belastung biologischen Gewebes durch Beleuchtung mit sichtbarem Licht zu
vermeiden, reduzieren Sie die Helligkeit und Dauer der Beleuchtung biologischen Gewebes auf
das unbedingt erforderliche Maß.
Bitte achten Sie unbedingt darauf, dass Ihr EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System mit der
auf dem Typenschild (8) angegebenen Spannung betrieben wird;
iDas EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System ist nur für den Betrieb in trockenen Räumen entwickelt
worden (s. Punkt 6 „Technische Daten“).
iDieses Gerät ist nicht für den Betrieb in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen geeignet.
iEine sichere Trennung vom Stromversorgungsnetz erfolgt nur durch Ziehen des Netzsteckers.
iDas Gerät darf nicht geöffnet oder demontiert werden. Technische Änderungen am Gerät sind zu
unterlassen. Reparaturen dürfen nur durch den Hersteller oder von ihm autorisierte
Kundendienststellen durchgeführt werden.
iBitte gewährleisten Sie jedem Bediener des Gerätes den raschen Zugriff auf diese
Gebrauchsanweisung.
iFür Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachtung dieser Gebrauchsanweisung entstehen, haftet der
Hersteller nicht.

2. Bedienung und Betrieb
2.1 Montage
Das EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System ist dafür konzipiert, direkt an alle gängigen Mikroskop- bzw.
Schwenkarmstative montiert zu werden. Entsprechende Adapter sind entweder der Lichtquelle
beigelegt oder beim Hersteller erhältlich (s. Punkt 5. „Zubehör“).
Zunächst die passende Seite des Befestigungsadapters (A) in die dafür vorgesehene Aufnahme (5)
an der Unterseite der Steuereinheit bis zum Anschlag führen. Danach die beiden
Befestigungsschrauben (M5) von unten durch die Nut führen (B) und mittels eines Imbus-Schlüssels
(3 mm) festdrehen.
Das EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System kann nun mittels des Befestigungsadapters am Mikroskop-
bzw. Schwenkarmstativ durch Klemmen befestigt werden. Gegebenenfalls muss dazu der
Mikroskopkörper bzw. der Träger zuvor abgenommen und hinterher wieder montiert werden.
2.2 Netzanschluß
Den Hohlstecker des beiliegenden Netzteils in die dafür
vorgesehene Netzkabel-Anschlußbuchse (4) der
Steuereinheit stecken.
Bitte achten Sie unbedingt darauf, dass Ihre EasyLED
Spotlicht Plus System nur mit dem beiliegenden Netzteil
betrieben wird.
Der Steckeranschluß des Netzteils ist austauschbar jeweils
für EU, UK, US bzw. AU. Dieser wird an das Stromnetz
(100-240 V AC, 50-60 Hz) angeschlossen.

2.3 Inbetriebnahme
Ein-/Ausschalten des EasyLED Spotlicht Plus Systems durch
Drücken des Schalters (3).
Bei eingeschaltetem Gerät leuchtet die blaue Kontrollleuchte (2).
Zur Trennung der Stromversorgung, bitte Netzstecker ziehen!
2.4 Lichtstärkeeinstellung
Durch Drehen des Lichtstärkereglers (7) kann die Helligkeit
stufenlos eingestellt werden.
Die Skalierung ist in 6 Helligkeitsstufen, von 0 bis 5,
eingeteilt.
Die höchste Lichtintensität wird bei Vollausschlag in Position
5 erreicht.
Bei der Reglerstellung 0 ist keine Intensität mehr vorhanden,
d.h. alle Spotlichter sind aus, das Gerät jedoch nicht
ausgeschaltet ist.
Zum Ausschalten des EasyLED Spotlicht Plus Systems den
An-/Ausschalter (3) einmal drücken.
2.5 Betriebsartenwahl (nur EasyLED Doppelspotlicht Plus System)
Durch Wiederholtes Drücken des Schalters (3) können nacheinander folgende Betriebsarten
gewählt werden:
LED-Kopf 1 EIN, LED-Kopf 2 EIN, beide LED-Köpfe EIN, beide LED-Köpfe AUS usw.
3. Wartung
Ihr EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System ist wartungsfrei.
Eine Desinfektion der Lichtquelle bei Anwendung im medizinischen Bereich ist nicht vorgesehen.
Zur äußerlichen Reinigung des Gerätes trennen sie das Gerät vom Stromnetz und verwenden Sie
ein weiches trockenes Tuch oder handelsübliche Kunststoff-Reinigungstücher aber auf keinen Fall
brenn- und entflammbare Flüssigkeiten.

4. Beheben von Störungen
Sollten Sie die Störung durch die nachfolgend genannten Maßnahmen nicht beheben können,
wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Fachhändler oder die nächste SCHOTT-Vertretung. Weitergehende
Reparaturen müssen vom autorisierten Kundendienst durchgeführt werden.

5. Zubehör zum EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System
Für Ihr EasyLED Spotlicht Plus System ist ein breites Zubehörprogramm lieferbar.
Nur SCHOTT-zubehör gewährleistet die einwandfreie Funktion, Sicherheit und optimale Licht-
ausbeute.
Optische Filter können als Einschraubfilter vor den LED-Kopf gesetzt werden. Details zu den
standardmäßig erhältlichen Filtertypen entnehmen Sie bitte dem Katalog.
Zur Befestigung des EasyLED Spotlicht Plus Systems an Mikroskopstativen und Schwenkarmen
sind entsprechende Befestigungsadapter erhältlich, die entweder dieser Lichtquelle beiliegen oder
separat bestellt werden können. Details zu den jeweiligen Typen sind im Katalog beschrieben.
Wird das Gerät nicht an ein Stativ oder einen Schwenkarm montiert, kann diese auch freistehend an
einen Standfuß mit entsprechender Befestigungsvorrichtung montiert werden. Informationen dazu
sind ebenfalls im Katalog aufgeführt.

Intended use:
The EasyLED Spotlight Plus System is intended to provide lighting in stereomicroscopy applications
used in industry and laboratories. It is designed to intensely illuminate objects of all kinds.

Safety information:
Please read and observe these instructions carefully. The instrument’s safety cannot be
guaranteed unless you observe the operating instructions.
Never look directly into the light emitting aperture of the spotlights during operation (danger
of ophthalmic injury)!
The EasyLED Spotlight Plus System emits high intensity visible light. As light absorbing materials
have the physical property of converting incident light into heat, damage may occur to heat sensitive

or flammable light absorbing materials. To avoid such thermal damage and the potential danger of
fire or burns, please adhere to the following instructions:
xNever cover up the EasyLED Spotlight Plus System (danger of fire!)
xNever cover up the light emitting aperture of the spotlights with your hands or other parts of your
body (danger of burns!)
xWhen illuminating heat sensitive or flammable light absorbing objects, special care must be taken
to keep an appropriate distance and select a suitable brightness level in order to avoid thermal
damage to the object.
xAll spotlights not being used in the working procedure must always be a safe distance – at least
10 cm – away from heat sensitive or flammable light absorbing materials (prevention of possible
fire hazard). Care must, therefore, be taken that these spotlights are at the above mentioned safe
distance away from, for example, dark/coloured textiles and dark/coloured wooden or plastic
surfaces
xTo avoid unnecessary strain on biological tissue by illuminating with visible light, reduce the
brightness and duration of illumination to the absolute minimum level required.
Please make sure that your EasyLED Spotlight Plus System is operated at the
voltage indicated on the rating plate (8).
iThe EasyLED Spotlight Plus System has been developed for operation in dry rooms only (see
Point 6 "Technical data").
iThe instrument must not be used in explosive areas.
iSafe disconnection from the power supply is only guaranteed by pulling out the mains plug.
iThe instrument may neither be opened nor dismantled. Technical modifications are forbidden.
Repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer or by its authorised customer service
agencies.
iPlease ensure that every user of the system has quick access to these operating instructions.
iThe manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by failure to obey these instructions.

2. Operation and use
2.1 Installation
The EasyLED Spotlight Plus System is designed for direct installation on all common microscope
and swivel arm stands. Matching adapters have either been included with the light source or are
available from your dealer (see Point 5 "Accessories").
Start by guiding the matching side of the mounting adapter (A) into the designated holder (5) on the
bottom of the control unit as far as it will go. Proceed by guiding the two fastening screws (M5)
through the groove from the bottom before screwing them in place using an Allen key (3 mm).
You are now ready to clamp the EasyLED Spotlight Plus System onto the microscope or swivel arm
stand using the mounting adapter. You may have to remove the microscope body / carrier
beforehand and refit it when installation is complete.
2.2 Power connection
Plug the barrel connector of the included power supply unit
into the designated mains connection socket (4) on the
control unit.
Please ensure to operate your EasyLED Spotlight Plus
System only with the included power supply unit.
The plug connection of the power supply unit is
interchangeable for EU, UK, US and AU. The plug
connection needs to be connected to the mains supply (100-
240 V AC, 50-60 Hz).

2.3 Start-up procedure
You turn the EasyLED Spotlight Plus System on/off by pressing the
switch (3).
The blue indicator light (2) will be on when the instrument is switched
on.
Please disconnect power by pulling out the power plug!
2.4 Light intensity setting
The brightness can be adjusted continuously by turning the
light intensity setting knob (7).
The scale is divided into 6 brightness levels ranging from 0
to 5.
The greatest light intensity is reached when the knob is
turned all the way to position 5.
Please note that when the brightness control is set to 0,
there is no more intensity as all spotlights are off. However,
the instrument itself is not switched off in this case.
To turn the EasyLED Spotlight Plus System off, press the
On/Off switch (3) once.
2.5 Operating mode selection (EasyLED Double Spotlight Plus System only)
You can successively select the following operating modes by pressing the switch (3) repeatedly:
LED head 1 ON, LED head 2 ON, both LED heads ON, both LED heads OFF, etc.
3. Maintenance
Your EasyLED Spotlight Plus System is maintenance free.
Disinfecting the light source during medical applications is to be avoided.
To clean the outside of the instrument, disconnect the instrument from the mains supply and use a
soft dry cloth or commercially available plastic cleaning cloths. However, never use combustible or
flammable liquids for cleaning.

4. Troubleshooting
Should you be unable to correct the fault you are experiencing applying the measures listed below,
turn to your authorised dealer or the next SCHOTT dealership. More extensive repairs have to be
performed by authorised service technicians.

5. Accessories for your EasyLED Spotlight Plus System
We offer an extensive range of accessories to complement your EasyLED Spotlight Plus System.
Only SCHOTT accessories guarantee perfect operation, safety and optimum light yield.
You can install screw on filters acting as optical filters in front of the LED head. Please refer to our
catalogue for details on the standard types of filters we carry.
We also offer mounting adapters for our EasyLED Spotlight Plus System that match microscope
stands and swivel arms. We either include these adapters with your light source, or you can order
them separately. Refer to our catalogue for a detailed description of the available models.
If not mounted to a stand or swivel arm, the instrument can also be installed to a base as a
standalone unit by means of a corresponding mounting device. More information is, again, provided
in our catalogue.
