1.4 Scope of Supply
The scope of supply of the STC licensed software includes a CD which contains the following:
•Pre-requisites required to install licensed software operation (including HASP driver)
•STC licensed software.
In case the software is designed to be protected with a hardware HASP key, the scope of supply includes the
USB HASP.
In case the software is designed to be protected with software HASP, the CD will house the .txt/.exe/.v2c file
with which you can install the software key (see HASP Models for more information).
If you need to activate your software copy in offline mode or to update the HASP key remotely, you will be

2HASP MODELS
To protect the software products against piracy and unauthorized use, STC uses HASP keys manufactured by
SafeNet Inc.
Such HASP keys may be of two types:
•HASP HL: Hardware keys
•HASP SL: Software keys.
Below, see Table 1 for hardware key models and Table 2 for software key models.

Software Rental Agreement
HASP SL Net .txt or .v2c Permanent network key
Note: .txt file contains product activation key; .v2c and .exe files contain software HASP key.
Each key contains information on software components the users are allowed to work with.
The users may also be provided with trial software HASP keys for getting familiar with an STC product. Such
keys are valid for a single PC and expire in 90 days after the software has been run for the first time.
A trial key is always a software key and may only be used locally.
To enable using local software on a rental basis, STC leverages Time hardware and software keys. To enable
using network software on a rental basis, STC leverages Net Time hardware and software keys. Time/Net Time
keys have built-in real-time clock, so that as soon as the rental period is over, the key locks the access to the
software or some of its features.
To enable using local software on a permanent basis, STC leverages Pro hardware and software keys.
To enable using network software on a permanent basis, STC leverages Net hardware and software keys.

For offline activation, you will be supplied with the RUS Branding utility a .txt file with the product
key consisting of numeric and alphabetic characters. The RUS Branding utility and the .txt file may
be included into the installation package or sent via email (depending on the product you
purchased).
The RUS Branding utility handles the c2v and v2c files performing the following steps:
•Creating a c2v (customer to vendor) file. This file
contains the snapshot of the computer the software key is linked to.
•Applying v2c (vendor to customer) file. The .v2c file
contains the software key itself which can be activated only on the computer you have taken
snapshot of (.c2v file).
Before offline activation, install the pre-requisites and the product using the installation CD. Make
sure the Sentinel License Manager service is running.
To perform offline activation, follow the steps below:
1. Create a .c2v file using the RUS Branding utility on the computer you are going to install the key
to.
2. Move the c2v file to a computer which has internet connection. Upload the c2v file to the
License Server through the Customer Portal. Once there, create a .v2c file which will contain the
software key for the product in question.
3. Apply the .v2c file you got on the computer you have taken snapshot of (c2v file) using the RUS
Branding utility.
4. Using the Sentinel Admin Control Center web app, check whether the software key you have
just installed is active.

Figure 11: Collect Status Information tab
Then click Collect Information and select a path to save the C2V file. Finally, close the RUS Branding

If you are unable to access the Customer Portal for any reason, send the generated c2v file to STC
Technical Support (for contact details, see Technical Support).
Our technical support engineer will send you a .v2c
file containing the software key for the
product in question. Apply the .v2c file you got on the computer you have taken snapshot of (c2v
file) using the RUS Branding utility.
To access the Customer Portal, you must open TCP ports 80 and 443 on your computer.
Move the c2v file you have created to a computer which has internet connection.
Run your browser (for best performance, it is recommended to use Internet Explorer) as administrator (Fig.
