Im Artikulator schädelrichtig montierte Modelle sind wesentlicher Bestandteil von Diagnostik und Therapie.
Ein anatomisch richtig positioniertes Oberkiefermodell reduziert erheblich die Einschleifzeiten am Patienten, besonders
wenn es zusammen mit einer korrekten Zentrikregistrat und individuellen Kiefergelenk-Einstellungen (Kondylarbahn-
Bennett) verwendet wird.
Articulator mounted casts that are correctly related to the cranium are essential part of diagnosis and therapy.
An anatomically related maxillary cast when used along with a correct centric record should be used with customized
condylar pathway settings or even with average values.

The AXIOQUICK®Transfer system
Die Achs-Orbital-Ebene (AOE) dient als Referenzebene. Porion und Orbita bilden eine reprodu-
zierbare Bezugsebene, die nicht mehr arbiträr (= willkürlich), sondern mit Hilfe der richtigen
Anlagetechnik mit der kinematisch bestimmten Oberkieferübertragung fast identisch ist. An-
dere Ebenen (z. B. Camper) können mit dem Referenz-Zeiger (ATB 235) abgegriffen werden.
The Axis Orbital Plane (AOP) established by using Anatomic Porion-Orbitale reference plane is the
same as the Frankfort Horizontal Plane (FHP). Other planes maybe selected using the reference
pointer (ATB 235). The unique pivot action of the SAM® facebow guarantees the optimumand
correct positioning of the transfer fork.

Die an der anatomischen Porion-Orbitalen orientierte und schädelbezüglich richtige Anlagetechnik stellt sicher, dass die
Schädel- und Oberkieferästhetik richtig in den Artikulator übertragen wird.
Die blauen Hygieneschutzkappen zur Einmalverwendung verbessern die Positionierung im Gehörgang, sowie den Trage-
Komfort für den Patienten.
Mit Hilfe der patentierten Nasionstütze mit Nivellierstab wird die Parallelität des Bogens zur Interpupillarlinie
gewährleistet. Die Nasenrolle aus Silikon macht die Übertragung für den Patienten noch angenehmer.
The special geometry and mechanics of the SAM® facebow provides an automatic cranial related symmetry. The
Anatomic Porion -Orbitale oriented and cranial related attaching technique assures that the cranium and maxillary
teeth esthetics are correctly transferred to the articulator.
The single use blue hygienic earpiece caps for single use aid in the correct positioning in the ear canal, as well as the
wearing comfort for the patient.
The patented nasion relator with the interpupillary line leveler helps to assure the parallel relationship between the
interpupillary line and the facebow. The silicone nasion support makes the transfer more comfortable for the patient.

Facebow preparation
Die Hygieneschutzkappen (ATB240) werden auf die
schwarzen Ohroliven des Gesichtsbogens gesetzt.
The blue hygienic earpiece caps (ATB240) are placed on to
the black earpieces of the facebow.

Die Nasionstütze (ATB 394) ist am Transferbogen (ATB 303)
richtig positioniert, wenn sie vollständig zwischen die Stifte
auf der Unterseite eingeschoben ist.
The nasion relator (ATB 394) is properly positioned on the
facebow (ATB 303) when it is fully inserted between the
pins on the underside of the facebow.

Die Einkerbungen zeigen nach außen hinten (1) , die flach
abgewinkelte Seite (2) nach innen.
The notch is pointing outwards (1), the flat angled-side
facing inward (2).
Die Nasionstütze sollte komplett „eingefahren“ (1) und mit
der Schraube (2) leicht arretiert sein.

Facebow preparation
Der Bissgabelträger wird auf das Geschiebe an der
Unterseite des AXIOQUICK® Transferbogens bis zum
Anschlagstift geschoben.
The transfer fork assembly is pushed onto the sliding
attachment at the bottom of the AXIOQUICK® face bow
until fully seated.
Die Rändelschraube am Bissgabelträger(1) wird
angezogen. Die Rändelschraube an der Unterseite
des Gesichtsbogens (2) sollte gelöst sein, so dass die
Seitenarme des Gesichtsbogens frei beweglich sind.
Tighten the knurled thumb screw on the transfer fork
assembly (1). The thumbscrew on the bottom of the
facebow (2) should be loosened, so that the side arms of
the facebow are freely moveable.

Eine gleichmäßig dünne Schicht Polyvinylsiloxan Material
wird auf der Oberfläche der Bissgabel aufgetragen.

Die Bissgabel wird, wie hier dargestellt zur Mittellinie
ausgerichtet und positioniert. Die Bissgabel wird ohne
Bewegung gehalten, bis das PVS angezogen hat.

Nach dem Erhärten wird die Bissgabel entnommen
und alle tiefen Impressionen, abgeformten Fissuren
und Interdentalräume entfernt. Ein richtig gemachtes
Bissgabelregistrat braucht normalerweise keine Korrekturen.
After hardening the transfer fork is removed and all
deep impressions, molded fissures and interdental spaces
removed. A properly made transfer fork record normally
needs no corrections.

Die Bissgabel wird wieder eingesetzt und an Ort und
Stelle gehalten, in dem der Patient wie hier dargestellt,auf
Watterollen beisst.
The transferfork is reseated on the maxillary teeth and held
in place by having patient biting on cotton rolls as shown
here.
Der Gesichtsbogen wird nur mit Daumen und Zeigefinger
am Winkel zur Ohrolive vom Patient gehalten.
The face bow is only held with thumb and index finger on
the corner of the earpiece by the patient.

Der Patient führt langsam die Ohroliven mit blauen Hygiene-
schutzkappen in den äußeren Gehörgang ein, bis er
schlechter hört.
The patient slowly inserts the blue capped earpieces into the
external auditory canals until he hears worse.
Vorsicht: Nur mit leichtem Druck und feinfühlend einführen.
Attention: Insert only with light pressure and sensitive.
Nun drückt der Patient leicht mit dem Daumen die Ohroliven
nach oben und dann direkt nach innen, bis es in der kleinen
superioren Vertiefung im Ohrkanal sitzt. An dieser Stelle
kann der Patient wieder hören. Wenn nicht, muss die
Prozedur mit der Ohrolive erneut durchgeführt werden.

small superior depression in the ear canal. At this point the
patient can hear. If not, earpiece procedure is repeated.

Wie hier zu sehen bestimmt die gelbe Linie auf der
Interpupillar-Ebene den Gesichtsbogen als parallel und somit
eine ästhetisch korrekte vordere Referenzebene bezüglich
der anterioren Orbitale und der hinteren anatomischen
Porion -Referenzpunkte.
As seen here, the yellow line on the interpupillary plane,
identifies a parallel face bow esthetically correct anterior
reference plane related to orbitale anteriorly and the
posterior anatomic porion reference points.
Wenn alles richtig positioniert ist, sollte ein Spalt unterhalb
der Ohrolive zu beobachten sein (1) und der Patient sollte
wieder hören können. Es ist WICHTIG, dass er die Ohroliven
in der richtigen Position hält, solange der Behandler die
Positionen mit dem Interpupillar-Nivellierstab überprüpft
und den Bissgabelträger arretiert hat.
When positioned correctly, there should be space (1) seen
below the earpieces and the patient can hear. It is very

Mit halb geöffnetem Knebel des Bissgabelträgers kann die
AX Bissgabel leicht in Position gebracht werden, um den
Gesichtsbogen mit der Bissgabel zu verbinden.
With the toggle of the transfer fork assembly is half open,
the AX transfer fork can be easily moved into position to be
attached to the face bow transfer fork.
Mit einer Hand wird der Bissgabelschuh komplett auf den
konischen Bissgabelschlitz gesteckt. Mit der anderen Hand
wird das Gelenk gesichert.

assemby . The other hand secures the joint.
Erst wenn der Bissgabelschuh ganz aufgesteckt ist, wird die
Schraube an der Bissgabel fest angezogen.

Tipp: Die Handhabung des Bissgabelträgers ist wesentlich
leichter, wenn die Feststellschraube nach unten zeigt.

Ist der Gesichtsbogen anatomisch korrekt ausgerichtet
und der Nivellierstab zum zweiten mal überprüft, sollte
der Knebel des AXBissgabelträgers vorsichtig festgezogen
werden, aber bitte NICHT ZU FEST ZIEHEN. Den Knebel der
Bissgabelträgers nur handfest anziehen.
Eine zu große Kraftanwendung kann die AX Klemme
beschädigen.
With the face bow aligned anatomically correct, and
secondary check of the interpupillary line leveler, carefully
tighten the AXtransfer fork assembly cross clamp but DO
NOT OVERTIGHTEN. Therefore please draw the toggle of
the transfer fork assembly only hand tighten.
Too large a force application can damage the AXclamp.
Die Nivellierstange sichert die korrekte Positionierung der Ohroliven des Gesichtsbogens im äußeren Gehörgang. Der Patient
muss die Ohroliven immer in Position bis zum Abschluss der Gesichtsbogenübertragung halten und bis die Rändelschrauben
an der Nasionstsütze (1) und an der Bissgabel (2) festgezogen sind.
Es ist nicht notwendig, die zentrale Rändelschraube am Gesichtsbogen (3) anzuziehen, um die Seitenarme in Position zu
halten.
The interpupillary line leveler assures the correct positioning of the face bow earpieces in the external auditory canals. The
patient must always hold the earpieces in position until completion of the face bow transfer and knurled thumb screws on
the nasion relator (1) and transfer fork (2) have be set.
It is not necessary to tighten the central thumb screw on the facebow (3) to hold the side arms in position.

Sind die Klemmen des zwei-knebeligen Bissgabelträger NT
halb geöffnet, so gleiten sie leicht von oben nach unten und
in die richtige Höhe mit der Klemme zum Stiel der Bissgabel.
Open the two-toggle transfer fork assembly NT system
clamps 1/2 turn, the clamps slide easily from top to bottom
and at the correct height to handle the transfer fork.
Die Schraube an der Bissgabel muss fest angezogen sein.

Wenn der Gesichtsbogen anatomisch korrekt ausgerichtet
ist, und der Nivellierstab zum zweiten mal kontrolliert
wurde, wird die NT-Klemme (1) vorsichtig fest, jedoch nicht
zu fest angezogen. Erst danach wird die Horizontal-Klemme
(2) festgezogen.
If the facebow is aligned anatomically correct and the
interpupillar line leveller was controlled the second time, the
NT-toggle (1) shall be carefully drawed, however, not too
tight. Only then the horizontal toggle (2) is tightened.

Die Nivellierstange sichert die korrekte Positionierung der Ohroliven des Gesichtsbogens im äußeren Gehörgang. Der Patient
muss die Ohroliven immer in Position bis zum Abschluss der Gesichtsbogenübertragung halten und bis die Rändelschrauben
an der Nasionstsütze (1) und an der Bissgabel (2) festgezogen sind.
Es ist nicht notwendig, die zentrale Rändelschraube am Gesichtsbogen (3) anzuziehen, um die Seitenarme in Position zu
halten.
The interpupillary line leveler assures the correct positioning of the face bow earpieces in the external auditory canals. The
patient must always hold the earpieces in position until completion of the face bow transfer and knurled thumb screws on
the nasion relator (1) and transfer fork (2) have be set.
It is not necessary to tighten the central thumb screw on the facebow (3) to hold the side arms in position.

Ist der Bogen richtig angelegt und die Position der Bissgabel
richtig gesichert, hält der Gesichtsbogen, ohne dass der
Patient ihn hält.
Die ganze Übertragung funktioniert mit dem AXIOQUICK®
System schnell und zuverlässig:
If the facebow is positioned properly and the position of
the transfer fork is properly secured, the face bow keeps its
position without the patient holding it.
The AXIOQUICK® face bow transfer can be done quickly
and accurately:
Vorbereitung Transferbogen / Facebow preparation: = 10 sec.

Es wurde eine Studie durchgeführt, um die Beziehung der
Mitte der sagittalen und horizontalen Ebene bezüglich der
anthropologischen knöchernen Gehörgänge zu bestimmen.
Der SAM® AXIOQUICK® Gesichtbogen wurde auf einen
speziellen Montagestand befestigen. Dieser Bogen wurde
auf 122 Schädel befestigt und digital fotografiert. Es
konnte hierbei festgestellt werden, dass die Untergrenze
der Orbitale stets mit der Horizontalebene des Bogens
ausreichend parallel waren. Ein gleiches Ergebnis wurde
an weiteren 44 Patienten erzielt, d. h. die Horizontalebene
war stets mit der Interpupillarebene ausreichend parallel.
Die Vermessung mittels Photoshop 6.0 ergab in 70% der
Fälle Seitendifferenzen der Schädel, wie auch Patienten
von ≤ 1 mm und Seitenabweichungen von < 2 mm. Diese
Studie zeigt, dass ein richtig konstruierter Transferbogen
bei entsprechender Handhabung die schädelgerechte
Übertragung des Oberkiefermodells in den Artikulator
gewährleistet.

A study was done to determine the mid-sagittal and
horizontal plane relationships in reference to the
anthropological bony ear canals. The SAM® AXIOQUICK®
facebow was modified to attach to a special mounting
stand This facebow was attached to 122 skulls and digitally
photographed. It could be noted that the lower limit of the
orbital eye sockets were always sufficiently parallel with
the horizontal plane of the facebow. A similar result was
obtained in another 44 patients, ie, the horizontal plane
was always sufficiently parallel with the Interpupillary plane.
The measurement using Photoshop 6.0 was found in 70%
of cases side differences of the skull, as well as patients of
≤ 1 mm and lateral deviations of <2 mm. This study shows
that a properly designed facebow with appropriate handling
ensures a correct skull releated transfer of the maxillary
model to the articulator.
Ergebnisse / Results:
Sowohl in der Gruppe der „historischen“ Schädel, als
auch in der Gruppe der Patienten sind ca. 70% der
gemessenen Seitendifferenzen ≤ 1 mm. In den größeren
Abweichungsbereichen beobachtet man jedoch eine höhere
Variabilität bei den Schädeln. In der Gruppe der Patienten
waren alle Seitendifferenzen ≤ 2 mm, in der Gruppe der
Schädel waren 8% > 2 mm. Der Unterschied der Streuung
der Messwerte wird durch den Variationskoeffizienten
bestätigt.

Die optimale Lösung zur Montage des Oberkiefermodells ist
die Verwendung des Transferstandes AX(ATB 398).
Dadurch entfällt die Verwendung des Gesichtsbogens.
Dabei wird der Inzisalstift durch den Transferstand AX
ersetzt.
The optimal solution for Mounting the upper cast is using
the transfer stand AX(ATB 398).

Ein Magnetsockel (ATB 338 für MPS- und ATB 339 für
Schraubmontageplatten) an Stelle der Montageplatte bietet
für die später aufzusetzende Bissgabelstütze eine größere
und sicherere Auflagefläche.

Der Artikulator wird umgedreht und die Rändelschraube an der
Bissgabelstütze gelöst. Die Scheiben der Bissgabelstütze sinken
ab, bis sie drucklos in Kontakt mit der Bissgabel kommen. Ist zu
wenig Platz, können die Ringe seitlich abgeschoben werden,
so dass nur die schmale Stange mit der Bissgabel in Berührung
kommt. Durch Zudrehen der Rändelschraube wird die Bissgabel-
stütze fixiert und Artikulator kann wieder umgedreht werden.
The articulator is turned over and the thumb screw on the
transfer fork support loosened. The discs of the transfer fork
slides down until they come into contact with the transfer fork
without pressure (if there‘s not enough space, the rings can be
moved laterally such that only small rod comes into contact with
the transfer fork). By screwing the thumb screw the transfer fork
support is fixed. The articulator can be reversed again.
Das Oberkiefermodell wird in die Impressionen der Bissgabel
gesetzt. Ein Probeschließen zeigt, ob genügend Raum für den
Montagegips vorhanden ist. Eine korrekte Montage erfordert
etwa den Freiraum des kleinen Fingers (15 bis 20 mm). Pro
Fingerdicke sind ca. 15 ml Wasser für den Gips zu verwenden.
The upper cast is seated into the impression record on the
transfer fork. A preliminary check is made to assure enough
space for mounting gypsum. Proper installation requires
approximately the free space of the little finger (15 to 20 mm).
About 15 ml of water to be used for the gypsum per finger
thickness.
Es gibt speziellen Spezielle Dentalgipse mit geringer Expansion,
die verwendet werden sollten. Die Konsistenz von leicht
geschlagener Sahne wird vorgeschlagen!! Zuerst wir eine kleine
Menge des weichen Gips auf die Montageplatte-Oberfläche
aufgetragen. Das Zahnmodell wird leicht befeuchtet und so
ausreichend Gips auf dem Gipsockel aufgetragen, um den
Kontakt mit der Montageplatte zu gewährleisten. Das Oberteil
des Artikulators wird geschlossen um die Verbindung zum Gips
herzustellen. Beim Schließen sollte kein Druck ausgeübt werden

mounting plate surface. Lightly moisten dental cast and place
sufficient gypsum on the stone cast to assure contact with
mounting plate. Close upper member of articulator to complete
gypsum connection. There should be no pressure on closing.

Der Montagestand MOH 560 dient der Unterkiefermodell-
montage und kann mit allen SAM® Artikulatoren oder
dem Einartikuliergerät verwendet werden.
The mounting stand 560 MOH is used for the mandibular
cast mounting and is compatible with all SAM®
articulators and laboratory cast mounting instruments.
Der Inzisalstift wird entfernt und in das Artikulatoroberteil
eingesetzt.
Remove and attach incisal pin to upper member of
articulator.
Der Inzisaltisch wird ins Artikulatorunterteil gesetzt.
Attach incisal table to lower member of articulator.
Mit einem Tasterzirkel wird im Prämolarenbereich die
Registratstärke ermittelt und als doppelter Wert am
Inzisalstift eingestellt.
The thickness of the occlusal registration in the premolar
region is determined with a caliper and the height of the
incisal pin is increased to twice the measured value
