Internet security
Samsung takes anumberof steps toprotect its Internet-compatible Smart TVs against unauthori zed i ncurs i ons and
hacking . For example, certainsensitive communications between the TV and the Internet servers are encrypted. In
addition,the TV's operating system has adopted controlsto preventthe installation ofunauthorized applications.
Although we take steps toprotectyourSmart TV and persona l information, no Internet-connected device or
transmission is completely secure . We therefore encourage you totakeadditional steps to safeguard your TV, secure
yourInternetconnection, and mini mize the risk ofunauthori zed access . These steps are li sted below:
• When Samsung releases software updates toimprovethe securityof yo ur TV, you should promptlyinstall these
updates . To automatically receive these updates ,turn on Auto Update inthe TV 's menu (G, >®Settings>
Support> Software Update> Auto Update) . When an update is available, a popup message appears on the TV
screen. Accept the software download and update by selecting Yes when prompted. Take steps to secure your
wireless access point and network. Your access point's manualshould provide add itionaldetails about how to
implementthefollowing measures :
- Secure yourwireless access point's management setti ngs with a un i que password to prevent unauthorized
changes tosecurity related setti ngs .
-Implement standard encryption (e.g ., WPA2 encryption) on yourwireless access pointto secure yo urwirel ess
network signal.
- Secure access toyourwireless networkwith ahard-to- guess password.
-Confirmyour access point'sfirewall setting is enabled (if so equipped).
- Make sure thatallyourInternet-connected dev i ces are behind yournetwork'sfirewal l.
-Ifyour access pointor modem has astandby mode button, use itto disconnectyour home networkfrom the
Internet when it is not in use .
• Use strong passwords forallyourInternet accounts (Netflix, Facebook , etc.). If you r TV has a camera, recess the
camera intothe TV's bezel when it is notin use . Recessing the camera makes it inoperative.
• If any unexpected messages appear on your TV screen requesting permission tolinka dev i ce orenable aremote
sess i on, do NOT accept.
• Do notvisit suspicious web sites and do notinstall any suspic i ous programs. We recommend that users ins tallonly
those authorized apps provided by Samsung throu gh Samsung Sma rt Hub .

Bending Cover
To connectthe One Invisible Connection tothe One Connect and your TV, followthese steps:
1. Afterthe TV is completely set up and placed in itsfinalposition, connectthe One Invisible Connection tothe One
Connect and the TV as shown in Steps 1to4 above.
WARNING : Make surethatboth connectors are fully and firmly connected. Ifeitherconnecter is not connected
properly, there is adangerof severe electric shock.
2. Connect the One Connect AC power cord tothe One Connect, and then connectthe cord toawalloutlet as shown
in Step 5 above.
WARNING :Followthe directions exactly. Be sure toconnectthe power cord tothewall outlet as thelast step.
Always disconnectthe power cord from thewalloutlet before disconnecting the One Invisible Connection from
the back ofthe TV orfrom the One Connect.

• Do not use the One Connect in theupside-down oruprightposition.
• When connecting the One Invisible Connection, use a Bending Cover ,which prevents the cable ofthe One
Invisible Connection from being bentata 90 degree angle, to bend the cable . Failure to do so may cause
damage tothe cable.
• When connecting the One Invisible Connection, pay attentiontothe shapes and sizes ofits connectors so
thatthey are connected correctly. Failure to do so may cause product malfunction.
• When connecting the One Invisible Connection, be careful nottotwistthe cable of the One Invisible
Connection . Failure to do so may cause performance degradation ofthe TV or damage to the cable.
• When arranging the remaining cable, refertothe figure on the previous page forthe correct
arrangement.
• Take care notto subjectthe cable to any oftheactions below. The One Invisible Connection contains a
powercircuit. You could damage the cable and subjectyourselfto an electric shock .
• Handle the One Connect box carefully. It is heavy.

Mounting the TV on a wall
•
If you mountthis TV on awall, followthe instructions exactly as set out by the manufacturer. Unless it is
correctlymounted,the TV may slide orfall and cause serious injurytoachild oradult and serious damage
tothe TV.
For models providing wallmount adapters, installthem as shown in thefigure below before installingthewall mount
kit.

J.\ Do not install your wall mount kit while your TV is turned on. This may result in personal injury from electric

• Do not use screws that are longerthanthe standard dimension ordonotcomplywith the VESA standard screw
specifications. Screws that are too long may cause damage tothe inside ofthe TV set.
• For wall mountsthat do notcomplywith the VESA standard screw specifications, the length ofthe screws may
differdepending on thewall mountspecifications.
• Do notfasten the screws toofirmly. This may damage the productor cause the producttofall, leading to persona l
injury. Samsung is notliableforthese kinds of accidents.
• Samsung is not liableforproduct damage orpersonal injury when a non-VESA ornon-specified wall mount is used
or when the consumerfails tofollowthe productinstallation instructions.
• Do not mountthe TV at more than a 15 degree tilt.
• Always have two people mountthe TV onto awall.
- For 82 inch orlarger models, have four people mountthe TV ontoawall.
Providing properventilation foryourTV
When you installyour TV and One Connect, maintain adistance ofat least4 i nches (10 cm) betweenthe TV and One
Connect with otherobjects (walls, cabinet sides, etc.) to ensure properventilation. Failing to maintain properventilation
may result in afire oraproblem with the product caused by an increase inits internaltemperature.
• When you installyour TV with astand orawallmount, we strongly recommend you use partsprovided by Samsung
Electronics only. Using parts provided by anothermanufacturer may cause difficultieswiththe productorresult in
injury caused by the productfalling.
Safety Precaution: Securing the TV to the wall to prevent falling
Caution :Pulling, pushing, orclimbing on the TV may cause the TV tofall. In particular, ensure
yourchildren do not hang on ordestabilizethe TV. This action may cause the TV totip over,
causing serious injuries or death .Followallsafetyprecautions provided inthe Safety Flyer
included with your TV. For added stability and safety, you can purchase and installthe anti-fall
device as described on the next page.
WARNING: Never place atelevision set in an unstable location. The television set may fall, causing serious
personal injuryordeath. Many injuries, particularlyto children, can be avoided by taking simple precautions
such as
• Using cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturerofthetelevision set.
• Only using furniturethat can safelysupportthetelevision set.
• Ensuring thetelevision set is notoverhanging the edge ofthe supporting furniture.
• Notplacingthetelevisi on set on tallfurniture (for example, cupboards or bookcases) withoutanchoring
both thefurniture and thetelevision set to asuitable support.
• Not placing thetelevision set on cloth orothermaterialsthat may be located between the television set
and supporting furniture.
• Educating children aboutthe dangers ofclimbing on furnitureto reach thetelevision set orits controls.
If you are retaining and relocating thetelevision set that you are replacing withthis new set, you should
applythe same precautionstothe old set.

Preventing the TV from falling
1. Us i ng theappropriate screws, firmly fasten aset of brackets tothewall.
Confirm thatthe screws are firmlyattached tothewall.
- You may need additi onal material such as wall anchors depend i ng on
thetypeofwall.
2. Using theappropriately sized screws, firmly fasten asetof brackets tothe
Tv . ··
- For the screw specificati ons, referto "Standard Screw " in thetable on
page 9.
3. Connect the brackets fixed tothe TV and the brackets fi xed tothe wall
with a durable, heavy-dutystring, and then tiethe stri ng tightly.
-Installthe TV near the wall so that it does notfall backwards .
- Connect the string so thatthe brackets fixed tothewall are atthe
same height as orlowerthan the brackets fixed tothe TV.
Installing a sound bar (sold separately)
When you installa sound bar (3 inches or less in height) on the TV stand, attach the RUBBER-FOOTs tothe bottom of
the sound bar before mounting the sound ba r. Make sure thatthe RUBBER-FOOTs are notoutofthe stand width. Refer
tothe figure below:

Pairing the TV to the Samsung Smart Remote
When you turn on the TV forthefirsttime,the Samsung Smart Remote pairs tothe TV
-------------. automatically. Ifthe Samsung Smart Remote does not pairtothe TV automatically,
point it atthe remote control sensor ofthe TV, and then press and holdthebuttons
labeled Cl) and C, as shown inthefigure on the leftsimultaneouslyfor3 seconds or
more.

To installthe batteries, push the rear cover open in thedirection ofthe arrowatthe bottom oftheillustration, and
then insertthe batteries as shown in thefigure. Make sure thatthe positive and negative ends are facing in thecorrect
direction. Close the rear cover as shown.
• Alkaline batteries are recommended forlongerbattery life.

03 Initial Setup
When you turn on your TV forthe firsttime, it immediatelystartsthe Initial Setup. Followthe instructions displayed on
the screen and configurethe TV's basic settingstosuityourviewing env ironment.
• To perform Initial Setup using the SmartThings app, you mustconnectyour mobile device via Wi-Fi.
• Ifthe pop-up forsetup does not appear automatically on the SmartThings app on yourmobile device, continue
setup manuallyafteradding the TV using Add Device on the dashboard oftheSmartThings app .
• The SmartThings app is available formobile devices running Android 6.0orhigheror iOS 10 or higher.
• Noise may occur temporarily when the TV communicates with mobile devices.
Using the TV Controller
You can use the TV Controller on the bottom ofthe TV instead ofthe remote controltocontrol mostofthefunctions
ofyour TV .Whilewatching TV, you can change the channel by pressing the up and down directional buttons on the
TV Controlleroradjustthevolume by pressing the left and rightdirectional buttons. Press the@button on the TV
Controllerto displaythe Control menu .
To run an item on the menu, press thedirectional buttons on the TV Controllerto move the focus to the item, and then
press the@button on the TV Controller.
• The screen may dim if the protective film on the SAMSUNG logo orthe bottom ofthe TV is notdetached. Please
remove the protectivefilm.

and click Supportorcontact the call centerlisted on the back cover ofthis manual.
• For detailed information on troubleshooting, watch thetroubleshooting videos at www.samsung . com/spsn.
• This TFT LED panel is made up of sub pixelswhich require sophisticated technologyto produce. Ther e may be,
however, afew brightor da rkpixels on the screen. These p ix els will have no impact on the performance of the
product.
• To keep your TV in optimum condit ion ,upgradetothe latestsoftware.U se the Update Now orAuto Update
functions on the TV's menu (e > @3 Settings> Support>Software Update> Update Now orAuto Update) .
The TVwon'tturn on.
• Make sure thatthe AC powerc ord is securely plugged in tothe One Connect and thewalloutlet.
• Make sure thatthe wall outlet is working and the powerindicatoratthe bottom ofthe TV is lit and glowing asolid
red.
• Try pressing the@button atthe bottom ofthe TV to make sure thatt he problem is notwith the remote control. If
the TV turns on, referto "The remote control does notwork" below.
There is no picture/video/sound, oradistorted picture/video/soundfrom an external device, or
"Weak or No _Signal" is displayed on the TV, oryou cannotfind a channel.
• Make sure theconnection tothe device is correct and thatall cables are fullyinserted.
• Remove and reconnect all cables connected tothe TV and the external devices . Try new cables if possible.

• Make sure the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.

• Reduce interference by not using orturning offwireless devices. Also, verifythatthere are no obstacles between
the TV and the modem or access point. (The Wi-Fi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone

Eco Sensor and screen brightness

Eco Sensor adjusts the brightness ofthe TV automatically. This feature measures thelight in your room and optimizes
the brightness ofthe TV automaticallyto reduce powerconsumption. If you wanttoturnthis off, go to" >® Settings
>General> Eco Solution >AmbientLightDetection.
• Ifthe screen is too darkwhile you are watching TV in adark environment, it may be due tothe Ambient Light
Detectionfunction.
• The eco sensor is located atthe bottom ofthe TV. Do notblockthe sensor with any object. This can decrease picture
brightness.
Caring forthe TV
• Ifasticker was attached tothe TV screen, some debris can remain
after you remove the sticker. Please clean the debrisoffbefore
watching TV.
• The exterior and screen ofthe TV can get scratched during cleaning.
Be sure to wipe the exterior and screen carefully using asoftcloth to
prevent scratches.
• Do not spray wateror any liquid directlyontothe TV. Any liquid that
goes intothe product may cause afailure, fire, orelectric shock.
• To clean the screen, turn offthe TV, then gentlywipe away smudges
and fingerprints on the panelwith amicro-fibercloth. Clean the
body or panel ofthe TV with amicro-fibercloth dampened with a
small amount of water. Afterthat, remove the moisturewith adry
cloth. While cleaning, do notapplystrong force tothe surface ofthe
panel because it can damage the panel. Never use flammable liquids
(benzene, thinner, etc.) ora cleaning agent. For stubborn smudges,
spray asmallamountof screen cleaner on amicro-fibercloth, and
then use the cloth towipe away the smudges.
