Internet security
Samsung takes anumberof steps to protect its Internet-compatible Sma rt TVs against unauthorized incursions and
hacking. For example, certain sensitive communications between the TV and the Internet servers are encrypted. In
addition, the TV's operating system has adopted con t rols to preventthe installation ofunauth orized applications.
Although
we take steps to protect your Smart TV and personal information, no Internet-connected device or
transmission
is completely secure. We therefore encou r age you totake additional steps to safeguard your TV, secure
your Internetconnection, and minimizethe risk of unauthorized access . These steps are listed below:
• When Samsung releases software updates to improve the securityofyour TV, you should promptlyinstallthese
updates. To automatically receive these updates, turn on Auto Update inthe TV's menu (8>®Settings>
Support> Software Update> Auto Update). When an update is available, a popup message appears on the TV
screen. Accept the software download and update by selecting YES when prompted. Take steps to secure you r
wireless router
and network. Your router's manual should provide additional details about howto implementthe
following
measures:
- Secure yourwireless router's management se ttingswith aunique password to prevent unauthorized changes
to securityrelated settings.
-Implementstandard encryption
(e.g., WPA2 encryption) on your wireless routerto secure your wireless
network signal.
- Secure access toyourwireless networkwith ahard-to-guess password.
-Confirm your router's firewall setting is enabled (if so equipped).
-
Make sure thatallyourInternet-connected devices are behind your network'sfirewall.
-Ifyourrouteror
modem has astandby mode button, use it to disco nnectyour home networkfrom the In ternet
when
it is not in use.
• Use strong passwords forall your Internet accounts (Netflix, Face book, etc.). Ifyour TV has a camera, recess the
camera into the TV's bezel when it is not in use. Recessing the camera makes it inoperative.
• If
any unexpected message s appear on your TV screen requesting permission to link a device or enable a remo te
session, do NOT accept.
• Do notvisit suspicious web sites and do notinstall any suspicious programs. We recommend that users in stall only
those authorized
apps provided by Samsung through Samsung Smar t Hub.

01 TV Installation
Mounting the TV on a wall
•
If you mountthis TV on awall, followthe instructions exactly as set out by the manufacturer. Unless it is
correctly mounted, the TV may slide orfalland cause serious injuryto achild oradult and serious damage
to the TV.
For models providing wall mount adapters, installthem as shown in thefi gure below before installing thewall mou nt
kit.

Providing proper ventilation foryourTV
When you installyour TV, maintain a di sta nce ofat least 4 inches between the TV and otherobjects (wall s, ca binet
sides, etc.) to ensure properventilation. Failing to maintain properventilation may result in afi re oraproblemwith the
product
caused by an increase in its internaltemperature.
When you installyour TV with a stand orawall mount, we strongly recommend you use partsprovided by Sam sun g
Electronics
only. Using parts provided by another ma nufacturer may cause difficultieswith the product or result in
injury caused by the productfalling.

Safety Precaution: Securing the TV to the wall to prevent falling
Caution: Pulling, pushing, orclimbing on the TV may cause the TV tofall. In particular, ensure
yourchildren do not hang on ordestabilize the TV. This action may cause the TV to tip over,
causing serious injuries ordeath. Follow all safetyprecautions provided inthe Safety Flyer
included with your TV. For added stability and safety, you can purchase and installthe anti-fall
device as described below.
WARNING: Never place atelevision set in an unstable location. The television set may fall, causing ser i ous
personal injuryordeath. Many injuries, particularlyto children, can be avoided by taki ng simple preca utions
such as
• Using cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturerofthetelevision set.
• Only using furniture that can safelysupportthetelevision set.
• Ensuring the television set is not overhanging the edge ofthe supporting furniture.
• Not placing the television set
on tallfurniture (for example, cupboards or bookcases) withoutanchoring
both the furniture
and the television setto asuitable support.
• Not placing the television
set on cloth orothermaterialsthat may belocated be tween thetelevision

and supporting furniture.

If you are retaining and relocating the television setthat you are replacing with this new set, you should

Preventing the TV from falling
1. Using the appropriate screws, firmlyfasten aset of brackets to thewall.
Confirm thatthe
screws are firmly attached tothewall.

You may need additional material such as wallanchors depending on
the type of wall.
2. Using the appropriately sized screws, firmlyfasten aset ofbrackets to the
TV.
- For the screw specifications,referto "Standard Screw" in the table on
page 7.
3. Connect the brackets fixed tothe TV and the brackets fixed tothewall
with adurable,
heavy -dutystr ing, and then tiethestring tightly.
Installthe
TV near the wall so that it does not fa ll backwards.
- Connect the string so thatthe brackets fixed tothe wall are atthe
same height as orlowerthan the brackets fixed tothe TV.
