can be used to keep track of shade motors in the
event the motors are changed or swapped.
App Software Info
Lists the version of firmware installed in the shade motor. The Savant Support Team may require this information when
troubleshooting a problem. The last six characters identify the version of firmware.
Example: Using the App Software Info number from image above (91424D450009)
Last Six characters: 450009
1.!The 45 is treated as a hex value so first convert the hex value 0x45 into ASCII = E.
2.!Last four digits are treated as decimal so 00 09 is treated as 09.
3.!Therefore, the firmware version is E09 for this example

Serial Number
Serial Number of the shade motor. The first six characters of the serial number are stamped on the shade as the Node ID.
Factory Reset
Resets the data stored in the shade motor to its factory default values. The reset can take up to 30 seconds and the motor may
pulse during the process. The following fields in the shade manager are reset when the Factory Reset button is selected:
Upper/Lower Limits, Motor Direction, Up/Down Speed, and Shade Label.
HELPFUL!
-!If motor seems to be behaving erratic and is not responding to control commands; the motor may need to be factory
reset.
-!Once reset, the colored circle in the Upper/Lower Limit field will switch to yellow indicating the shade motor is
currently set to its factory default values.

8.3.!Create Shade Motor Groups
Once all motors are configured and operational, motor groups can be created. A motor group allows multiple shade motors to be grouped so they are all
controlled by the same entity/slider in the Savant Pro or TrueControl 11 Apps. The steps below describe how to create motor groups and add motors to
that group.
Add Shade Motor Group
The steps below will create a shade group and add three windows from the
Family Room zone.
1.!Select the add icon to add a new group.
IMPORTANT! The shade motors listed under the shade controller’s
RS-485 port are the only motors that can be added to the shade
group being created. Shade motors listed under a second RS-
485 port or a port associated with a separate controller can’t be
added to the group being created.
2.!Select the group.
3.!Enter a Name that describes the Shade Motor Group being created.
4.!Select the Savant Zone where the group will be added to in the
Savant Pro App.
5.!Add a check to each of the shades that will be added to the group.
IMPORTANT!When adding a check to each box, the check mark
may take a second or two to become established. This is normal
operation.
6.!Add additional shade motor groups as required.

8.4.!Sync Configuration to the Shade Data Table
When shade configuration is complete and all groups are created, the data from the Shade Manager needs to be added to the Shade Data table.
1.!From the shade manager window,
select the shade controller and select
the Sync button.
IMPORTANT! When there is more
than one shade controller in the
system, each controller must be
synced. To s y n c e a c h c o n t r o l le r,
select either the controller itself or
pick a shade, shade group, or port,
associated with the controller and
then select Sync.
Pressing the Sync button in the Shade Manager rebuilds the shade data table each time the Sync button is pressed with the configuration set in the
Shade Manager. Any shade motors or shade groups added or deleted are then added or removed from the data table.
2.!In the data table that opens, verify the
settings in the table match what was
configured in the shade manager. For
more information on the Shade Data
Table, refer to Appendix D: Shade
Data Table
3.!Select Done when complete.
4.!Close the Shade Manager. After approximately 15-20 seconds, the Status LED on the shade controller should begin to blink indicating that the
Shade Manager is no longer connected. Refer to the Status LED Description section for the shade controller in your network (wired or wireless) to
determine the state of the shade controller.
HELPFUL INFORMATION! While open, the Shade Manager assumes control of the shade controller (described above in step 3 of section 8.1).
The Shade Manager must be closed before the Host can regain control of the shade controller. After the Shade Manager is closed, it can take
up to 20 seconds for the shade manager to drop the connection. The Shades service in the Savant Pro App will not function correctly if the
Shade Manager window is open.

8.5.!Save Configuration, Generate Services, and Upload Configuration
With the shade controller and shade motor added and connected in Blueprint, the configuration needs to be uploaded to the Savant Pro System Host.
1.!Select File > Save from the Blueprint menu bar.
2.!Select the Generate Services icon from the Blueprint toolbar and answer the prompts. The State icon in the RacePoint Blueprint toolbar will
change to either blue or green indicating the services for the configuration are created.
3.!OPTIONAL: Select Update All UI Screens > Sync with Services (only if necessary) from the Blueprint toolbar to sync any user interfaces such as an
iPad® to the services. The State icon will change to green when complete.
4.!Select the Upload to Master icon from the Blueprint
toolbar and answer the prompts to upload the
configuration to the Savant Pro System Host.
5.!The System Monitor application will automatically open as
displayed in image to the right. Verify the path to the
configuration file is correct. Select Upload when satisfied.
The configuration will now upload to the Host. Once
uploaded, the shade controller can start communicating with
the Host and the Status LED will switch to solid green
indicating it is communicating with the Host.
HELPFUL INFORMATION! If at any time, the Shade Manager is opened to make modifications, the Shade Manager will assume communications
with the shade controller and the Host will not be able to communicate with the controller. The Shade Manager must be closed after
modifications are made for the Host to assume communications and the Savant Pro App Shade service to function correctly.
