BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Look at the sides of your tapestry loom.
It will need a hole A and a hole B or C on
each side, as shown in Figure 1. If your
loom does not have these holes, you must
drill them to attach the stand:
■Disassemble your loom and mark
hole placement with a pencil using the
measurements in Figure 2. Your loom
must have hole A. Decide whether you
want hole B and/or hole C: when the
stand is assembled in hole B, the loom sits
in more of an upright position and in hole
C it rests at more of an angle.
■Place a piece of scrap wood under the
loom sides and drill the holes on each side
using a 1/4" drill bit.
■Reassemble the loom.

ATTACH THE FRAME UPRIGHTS
1. From inside the loom, insert a 1/4-20
x 2-1/2" carriage bolt through hole A,
as shown in Figure 3. Use a hammer
or mallet to tap the square head of the
carriage bolt into the loom side.
2. On the outer side of the loom, place
the upper hole of the upright (closest to
one end) on the shaft of the carriage bolt.
Secure the carriage bolt with a 1/4" USS
washer and a 1/4-20 wing nut.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 on the other side
of the loom with the second upright.
ATTACH THE ADJUSTER BARS
4. From inside the loom, insert a 1/4-20
x 1-3/4" carriage bolt through hole B
(Figure 4A) or hole C (Figure 4B). Use a
hammer or mallet to tap the square head
of the carriage bolt into the loom side.
5. On the outer side of the loom, position
the adjuster bar between the loom and the
upright. Place the end hole of the adjuster
bar on the shaft of the carriage bolt.
Secure the carriage bolt with a 1/4" USS
washer and a 1/4-20 wing nut.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 on the other side
of the loom for the second adjuster bar.

7. From the outer side of the loom, push
a 1/4-20 x 1-3/4" carriage bolt through the
lower hole in the upright and through the
slot in the adjuster bar. Use a hammer or
mallet to tap the square head of the carriage
bolt into the upright.
8. From inside the loom, place the slot of
the adjuster bar on the shaft of the carriage
bolt. Secure the carriage bolt with a 1/4"
USS washer and a 1/4-20 wing nut. For
looms with hole B, the assembled stand
should look like Figure 5A; for looms with
hole C, the assembled stand should look like
Figure 5B.
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 on the other side of
the loom for the second adjuster bar.
To adjust the stand to your preferred
weaving position, loosen these wing nuts and
slide the carriage bolts in the adjuster bar
slots, then re-tighten the wing nuts. •
