Plastic gliders are attached at the back under the base feet to prevent SMILLA from
tipping over when pushed back. These help SMILLA to slide gently and remain in
an upright position when being pushed back. The therapy chair should be placed
on a surface it can slide on to ensure that the gliders can work as intended. The
gliders and surface must be kept clean.

3. Settings
Settings and adjustments to the product or accessories may only be made by peo-
ple who have been given the necessary instructions by a medical product advisor.
Please ensure that none of the user's extremities are in the respective area when
making adjustments of any kind to minimise the risk of injury.
The SMILLA therapy chair can be adjusted to the size of the child. The upper and
lower arms as well as the thighs and calves should be at least able to form a right
angle if possible. The feet should be placed fully on the foot plate and the arms
should be able to rest loosely on the armrests.
When adjusting the therapy chair there is a risk of trapping or
crushing limbs. After each adjustment, please retighten all screw
connections!
3.1 Seat plate, foot plate and armrest height
The right height of the seat plate should be ad-
justed to the size of the child and the respective
table height/situation. Once you have adjusted
the seat plate, position the armrests so that the
child's lower arms can rest comfortably on them.
The foot plate is at the right height when the soles
of the feet can rest on it and the thighs rest on the
seat plate.
Loosen the hexagon socket screws (A) to adjust
the armrest height and bring the armrests into the
required position. Then retighten the hexagon so-
cket screws.
Loosen the hexagon socket screws (B+C) on
both sides to adjust the seat and foot plate. Bring
the seat and foot plate to the required height and
retighten the socket screws.

The seat plate is at the right depth when there a
space of approx. 5 cm between the backs of the
knees and the front seat edge.
In order to adjust the seat depth, loosen the tur-
ning handles (A) beneath the seat plate, slide it
into the correct position and retighten the turning
handles (A). On Sizes 0 + and 0 KITA, the ma-
ximum seat depth can be adjusted via a second
hole (B). To do this, loosen the turning handle,
insert it into the second hole and retighten it.
A
B
3.3 Foot plate depth
The foot plate is at the right depth when the feet
can rest comfortably on it and do not hang over
the front edge.
In order to adjust the foot plate depth, loosen the
turning handles (C) beneath the foot plate and
slide it into the correct position.
C
3.4 Foot and seat plate angle
The seat and foot plates can be adjusted in four
different angles (-)5°, 0°, 7.5° and 15° using a
gauge pattern (D).
In order to set the seat or foot plate angle, the he-
xagon socket screws (F+H) on both sides of the
frame must be loosened and removed.
Insert the hexagon socket screws into a different
hole for another angle. Put the foot or seat plate
at the required angle and retighten the hexagon
socket screws.

In order to adjust the angle of the backrest, loo-
sen the turning handles (D) on both sides of the
frame and bring the backrest into the correct po-
sition.
Then retighten the turning handles.

and seat plate angle via the hole, the angle can
also be adjusted via fast adjustment using the
pull strap (A).
To do this, simply pull the pull strap from the front
or back (A), and bring the seat plate (B) or foot
plate (C) into the required position. With the rapid
angle adjustment, you can adjust the respective

of the headrest makes tangential contact with the
head. Make sure that the upper edge of the he-

of the head.
The headrest can be adjusted in height using a
gauge pattern in 3 cm steps.

holes in the holes at the required height, and then
retighten the socket screws (A).
Now you can reattach the back pad, slide the tho-
rax pelotte pads to the required position and then
tighten the sleeve nuts (B). To adjust the angle
and width, loosen the hexagon socket screws
(A), set the pelotte pad at the required angle or
width and retighten the socket screws.
