/ SVP-2D/H
(SVP-2D / SVP-2D/H from software version 1.4
ID number: 0201758
Usage
The retrofit kit may only be used for the following TRIBOS-
Polygonal clamping systems:
• TRIBOS-Mini
• TRIBOS-RM
• TRIBOS-S
For operation of the retrofit kit, only reducing inserts with labeled
DMC codes may be used. The use of reducing insertw without
DMC is prohibited.
For the operation of the retrofit kit in conjunction with SVP-2D, it
is recommended to have the parameter settings adjusted by a
SCHUNK service technician ( P0: 00014 for german or P0: 00015 for
english). This setting sets the target pressure to zero during pres-
sure built-up.
For operation or the retrofit kit in conjunction with SVP-4, it is rec-
ommended to set the parameter setting "clear pressure" (see Op-
erating manual SVP-4).

2 There are a magnet and two indexing pins at the bracket for
mounting the fixed scanner to the SVP's pressure hull. Alterna-
tively, the fixed scanner can be mounted on the left or right
side of the pressure hull. For this purpose, there are 4 bore
holes at the SVP's pressure hull.
To attach the holder to the pressure hull, insert the indexing
pins into the holes in the pressure hull.
3 Remove the protective film from the scanner.
NOTE
In its delivered state, the intermediate sleeve can rotate freely in-
side the pressure
hull. If the fixed scanner is used, the intermedi-
ate sleeve must be fixed in the pressure hull.
1 Rotate the intermediate sleeve until the the notch is offset by
approx. 15° below the Dataman 50S.
2 Tighten the M5 set screws at the clamp to secure the inter-
mediate sleeve inside pressure hull.

3 Only for software version 1.3:
Replace the retaining ring with circlip piers (type Knipex 44 21
J41 , not included in the delivery). Make sure the locking ring
snaps into place!
The retrofit kit contains 3 brackets with an adhesive layer and 1
magnetic bracket for fastening the cable.
1 Remove the protective film of the adhesive layer and fasten
the 3 brackets to the bracket of the pressure body.
2 Fasten the magnetic bracket to the housing.
3 Connect the scanner cable to the brackets.
4 DANGER! Danger of electrical voltage inside the housing! Be-
fore removing the back panel, disconnect clamping device
SVP from power supply.
Unscrew the screws from the back wall and remove the back wall.

5 Insert the cable of the Dataman 50S and the connecting cable
from above into the two sleeves.
6 Turn the sleeves 90 ° to the left so that the opening of the
sleeves is not up.
7 Install the distance bolts on the 15 pin Sub-D connector ot the
connection cable.
8 Connect the 15-pin Sub D connnectors of the Dataman 50S
and the connection cable.
9 Reinstall the back panel an fit the sealing plugs into the back
panel (only for software version 1.3). Observe the position of
the grooves in the back panel.

1 For the SVP-2D / SVP-2D/H with software version 1.3 the con-
nection cable may not be connected directly to the RS-232 in-
terface. In this case, a DC-DC converter must additionally be
connected to the RS-232 interface.
2 Connect the connection cable, or if required the DC-DC con-
verter, to the RS-232 interface.
NOTICE
Improper use of the DC-DC converter leads to damage of the
scanner!
• The DC-DC converter may only be used for TRIBOS SVP3 / SVP-
2D / SVP-2D/H with software version 1.3.
• If a TRIBOS SVP-2D / SVP-2D/H with software version 1.4 and
SVP-4 is used, connect the connection cable directly to the RS-
232 interface.
• TRIBOS SVP3 / SVP-2D / SVP-2D/H with software version 1.3 can-
not be updated to software version 1.4 or newer versions. The
software version is displayed when the device is siwtched on.

Operation
To perform a clamping procedure, the fixed scanner must be able
to read the DataMatrix code on the reducing ring. The DataMatrix
code is printed on the small and large ring of the reducing insert.
In this way, the reducing insert can be inserted into the intermedi-
ate sleeve from the left or right.
01.02|SVP-2D / SVP-2D/H / SVP-4 / SVP-3 |en 13 After being con-
nected to AC current for 20 seconds, the scanner switches to op-
erational mode (green and red LEDs go out, yellow LED lights up).
Red light illumination is now active. The green target window is
now visible. The scanner is now ready for operation. Reading dis-
tance 65-80 mm.

NOTE
• Always draing the system pressure bevor switching (lock / un-
lock) and before switch off of the device.
• If the SVP is swtched off and on again in the blocking state, the
blocking state is retained.
• If the SVP is swtched off and on again in the relaxed state, the
relaxed state is retained.
• If the system pressure of the SVP-2D, SVP-2D/H is not reduced
to zero press key P and OK.
• As of software version SV 1.6 the operating mode ca be
switched between scanning mode and manual operation.
To do
so, press the OK button for 3 seconds.
The scanner switches to scanner mode via DataMatrix code:
These DataMatrix codes are printed on a label that comes with the
retrofit kit. The appropriate DataMatrix code must be held under
the scanner to switch the mode.
The DataMatrix code "Lock 000E" blocks manual operation. In this
case, an entry can only be made via the scanner.
When the "Unlock 000A" DataMatrix code is used, only manual
operation is active. The code can no longer be scanned.

Operation
NOTE
From software version SV1.4 the handheld scanner CR6000 can be
operated directly at the SVP
-3 / SVP-2D / SVP-2D/H without DC-
DC
adapter.
Switching to scanner operation is done via the DataMatrix-Code:
Lock code
Unlock code
The DataMatrix-Codes are shown in the TRIBOS pressure table on
the device. For the switching process, the corresponding DataMa-
trix-Code must be scanned.
The manual operation is locked via the lock code. Now, entries can
only be made via the scanner.
If the unlock code is used, only the manual operation is active.
