INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
SB4 PET SCREEN MODEL
Congratulations on your purchase of the SB4 Pet Screen Door by Security Boss.
The following is a step by step guide for installing your Security Boss product.
A SAFETY REMINDER!
Always wear eye protection and gloves when appropriate.
Section A: Door Installation
Step 1: Be sure that you have ordered the correct size door for your pet. For long term
use it is best to size the pet door so that the pivot point of the door is about 2 inches
higher than your pet’s shoulders. The resulting bottom of the opening should be a
comfortable step over height.
Step 2: Check the package you received to make sure that it contains all the necessary
parts.

MaxSeal SB4 Pet Screen Door Model (with or without blocking panel)
1-1/4” #6 Phillips Head Screws
7/64” drill bit
Tools Needed:
Saw (Reciprocating or Jigsaw)
Pencil
Electric Drill
(Drill Bit large enough to create a “start” hole for the saw)
Level
Caulk
Phillips Head Screw driver
Step 3: Find a suitable area for your door mount model. Door models are available with
an optional blocking panel that lifts out vertically. Make sure there is adequate room for
removal of this Panel.

Step 4: Typically the SB4 Pet Screen door is framed in using standard structural lanai
extrusions to create a Rough Opening sized appropriately for the actual door dimensions
shown in the chart below. The thickness of the Lanai extrusions cannot exceed 2” from
interior to exterior.

The above measurements are exact
dimensions, you may add slightly depending on
the accuracy of your cut.
Step 5: Separate the Interior and exterior door frames.
Step 6: Put the inner frame into the rough opening in the lanai framing. Snap the outside
frame into MaxSeal door and sleeve the pet door frame together.
Step 7: Using the pre-drilled pilot holes and supplied drill bit, drill and insert one screw.
Make sure the door is level. When level, tighten the inserted screw. Affix remaining
screws into place using the pilot holes as guides
Step 8: Once the pet door is installed you can fill any gaps or seal the edges with
caulking if desired.

Replacement pile weather stripping for the swinging screen is available for purchase as a
screen maintenance kit through www.securitybosspetdoors.com and www.moorepet.com.

should consult their physician.
