To get the best from your GoPro BackBone camera tted with Entaniya lenses it is essential
to mount the lens centrally in front of the image sensor.
This helps ensure that there are no uncovered areas in your 360VR video and that the
optimal area of the captured video can be used for a sharp image stitch.
Below is a step by step guide of we preparing cameras for customers.
How to mount an Entaniya Lens on to a Ribcage GoPro Camera
Equipment required:
GoPre Ribcage modied camera,
Entaniya lens of choice, Micro
HDMI - HDMI cable, HDMI
monitor, AND SOME PATIENCE!
1) RULE NUMBER ONE
Avoid damaging the
sensor. ONLY t the short
screws at the 12 and 6
o’clock positions. Fitting
the long screws here will
damage the sensor.
3) FIT THE BLACK
ENTANIYA MOUNT ON
THE CAMERA TAKING
A SPECIAL NOTE OF 1)
ABOVE.
The screws do not
need to be tight, they
will be loosened again
shortly.
2) REMOVE BACKBONE
TRIPOD MOUNT
AND THE ORIGINAL
BACKBONE 2 PART LENS
MOUNT.
The IR cut lter is not
required since the lens
has one tted.
4) FIT GRUB SCREWS TO THE RED ENTANIYA
ADAPTER Fit four screws
equally around the
mount but do not
screw all the way
through.
NEXT, FIT THE RED
ENTANIYA ADAPTER
ON TO THE CAMERA.

5) SCREW THE ENTANIYA
LENS ON TO THE RED
ENTANIYA ADAPTER BUT DO
NOT SCREW ALL THE WAY IN
OR IT WILL IMPACT ON THE
IMAGE SENSOR
6) PLUG THE MICRO
HDMI - HDMI CABLE IN TO
THE CAMERA AND YOUR
MONITOR.
7) SWITCH ON THE CAMERA
AND ENSURE YOU HAVE AN
IMAGE ON YOUR MONITOR.
8) CAREFULLY FOCUS THE
LENS USING THE MONITOR
FOR REFERENCE.
9) WHEN IN FOCUS GENTLY
TIGHTEN ONE OF THE GRUB
SCREWS ON THE ADAPTER.
This should hold the lens
on the adapter.
10) UNSCREW THE LENS
AND THE RED ADAPTER
ATTACHED TOGETHER AND
PLACE THEM SOMEWHERE
SAFE.
11) SLIGHTLY LOOSEN THE
FOUR SCREWS ON THE
CAMERA MOUNT.
The mount needs to move
but with a slight resistance.
12) REFIT THE LENS (BUT DO
NOT TIGHTEN) AND VIEW ITS
POSITION ON THE MONITOR.
Adjust the mount position
until you are happy that the
image circle is centred in the
horizontal and vertical.
13) HOLDING THE BLACK
MOUNT CAREFULLY REMOVE
THE LENS (IF TIGHT THE
MOUNT WILL MOVE!!!!)
Still holding the mount
gently tighten one of the
screws to hold it in position.

14) REFIT THE LENS AND
CHECK ITS POSITION.

the lens and repeat - loosen
the mount 11) ret and
position lens 12), retighten
13), and check position 14)
until satised.
15) FOR THE BEST RESULTS, IDEALLY THE VIGNETTED
CORNERS SHOULD ALL BE EQUAL.
16) WHEN HAPPY WITH
THE POSITIONING OF THE
MOUNT YOU CAN GENTLY
TIGHTEN ALL FOUR SCREWS.
Please note that the screw
threads at 12 and 6 o’clock
position can strip if over
tightened - See also Point 1)
17) REFIT THE LENS, LOOSEN
THE GRUB SCREWS ON THE
RED ADAPTER AND REFOCUS
THE LENS AS REQUIRED.
When happy retighten the
grub screws equally (similar
to tightening down a car
cylinder head!)
18) NOW YOU SHOULD
BE READY TO USE YOUR
CAMERA AND ENTANIYA
LENS.
A FEW FINAL POINTS:
- FOR CLOSER WORKING DISTANCES YOU WILL NEED TO (SLIGHTLY) REFOCUS THE LENS
- FOR MULTI CAMERA SYSTEMS YOU SHOULD ALWAYS PRECHECK THE SYSTEM AND FOCUS BEFORE USE
